Chapter 51 - Beat ⁵¹★ Time to be cute& stubborn☆

Time to be cute & stubborn

Smart and Jin had spent most of the day together on that hill, letting the fresh air fill them and enjoying the breathtaking view.

Jin had tried several times to convince Smart to go somewhere in the city to eat, but Smart was enjoying the place too much.

Eventually, they had gone to a small nearby restaurant and grabbed a bite to eat.

After finishing, they returned to the hill, as Smart wanted to watch the sunset.

Zoi woke up in the morning and hadn't seen Smart; she thought he must have gone to work early.

She spent all her time at home, cleaning and cooking, yet Smart still hadn't appeared.

Evening was almost falling, and Smart was nowhere in sight!

She grabbed her phone and started calling him.

—Smart was in Jin's arms and wouldn't let go.

The phone kept ringing, but he didn't want to answer or even see who was calling.

He didn't want anyone to ruin that moment.

"Smart," Jin said softly, taking Smart's phone in his hand, "answer it."

"I don't want to," Smart whispered.

Jin smiled softly as he took Smart's phone.

"It's Zoi," he said.

"What the heck time is it?!"

Smart grabbed the phone and answered immediately.

"Smart," Zoi said. "Where are you?"

"Puff—sorry. I left early today. I had something to take care of, and now I'm still at work."

Jin began to smile, speaking softly.

"What was that work about? Me?"

Meanwhile, Smart gently covered his mouth with his hand so nothing could be heard.

"Smart," Zoi's voice came through the phone, "I told you—today is Niki's birthday, and we're going to celebrate!"

Niki was Zoi's close friend, and they were almost inseparable.

"Damn, sorry, it completely slipped my mind. Get ready, and I'll tell Ren or Hani to take you to the party! I can't, I'm at a photoshoot," Smart said.

"I can go by myself," Zoi replied. "You know I'm not a child, I can take care of myself. Should I tell Niki to come and pick me up?"

Don't argue. I said no.

If you keep pushing, I won't let you go," Smart said, his voice sharper than Jin had ever heard.

Jin froze, stunned by the intensity in his tone.

"Okay… okay," Zoi murmured through clenched teeth before hanging up.

"Hm… that tone even scares me," Jin teased softly.

Smart met his gaze, his voice low but firm.

"Then don't do anything that would make me use that tone.

If you don't make mistakes, you'll never hear it again."

"Come closer," Smart said, leaning into Jin's body. "Hold me tight."

Damn… how did his expression change so fast—from fierce to cute?

"Smart… who are you?!" Jin thought, as his lips brushed against Smart's neck.

Smart reached for his phone, ready to call Hani.

Jin snatched the phone from his hand.

Why won't you let Zoi go to the party by herself?"

"Because she's still young, and I worry about her!

There could be drunk people there!

Something could happen!

If anything happens to her, I don't know how I'd handle it!"

Now hug me!" Smart said, trying to change the subject, taking Jin's hands and placing them around his waist.

Jin thought,He really didn't lie to me about this. He really is going to take Zoi somewhere."

So why won't he let her go alone?

Why is he so strict?

She's almost twenty…

Smart tried calling Hani several times, but there was no answer.

"Damn, where are you?" he muttered.

"Don't call. Let's go and take her to the party ourselves," Jin said.

"Even if we leave now, we won't make it in time. It's too far… but I'll call Ren."

Ren and Leo were at the gym, having spent all their energy working out and showing off their strength.

Now in the locker room, they had just finished training.

"Go take a shower," Leo said, nudging Ren.

"Didn't I tell you how you should call me?" Ren said, grabbing him by the waist.

"Behave yourself in public," Leo warned. "Now go take a shower. Don't make me use my strength."

"Your strength?" Ren teased with a smirk. "Maybe you should use it somewhere else."

"You know you're a naughty little troublemaker, right? And don't forget—I'm older than you. You have to listen to me."

"Hmm," Ren replied, amused. "You may be older than me, but that doesn't mean I'll let you boss me around."

"Okay, okay, go now…"

While Ren was in the shower, his phone rang.

Leo picked it up and called out to Ren, "It's Smart!"

"Alright, answer it," Ren said.

Leo answered immediately and heard Smart's voice.

"Ren, where are you?"

"I'm taking a shower," Leo replied on Ren's behalf.

"Leo, is that you? Still alive?" Smart teased.

"I'm about to hang up," Leo said, clearly annoyed.

"Okay, okay, hear me out. Can you ask Ren if it's possible to take Zoi to a birthday party?

I can't make it myself," Smart continued.

"Don't worry—we'll take her," Leo said after checking with Ren.

"Hey Smart, where are you? Or should I figure it out myself?"

"Don't worry about it. I'm heading out now—got some work to do. Take care of Zoi!" Smart said, then hung up.

"Was he with Jin?" Ren asked immediately.

Leo was caught off guard by the question, but knowing Ren, he knew that nothing escaped him.

Ren had probably already figured out Jin's fixation on Smart.

Anyone would have noticed, really—Jin didn't hide his obsession. Words weren't even necessary.

"They're probably together!" Leo thought, his heart racing slightly.

He grabbed his phone and quickly typed a message:

✉️ "How's it going? Did you get what you wanted?"

Seconds later, Jin's reply popped up instantly:

✉️ "When have I ever failed… you know I always get what I want."

Leo grinned and slipped his phone back into his pocket.

"Alright, let's finish getting ready to pick up Zoi," he said, already moving toward the door.

Once they got ready, the two of them went out and headed toward the car.

"I'll drive," Ren said.

It''s my car, let me drive it myself," Leo replied.

It's your car? So what."

Ren held out his hand. "The keys. Now..

"Damn, what a stubborn kid! I don't even know how I ended up in your hands," Leo said, handing him the keys.

Ren grabbed his hand and pulled him close, whispering, "I'm irresistible, that's why you ended up with me."

Shut up, or I'll leave you," Leo said, opening the car door.

"Go ahead, dare me—and you'll see what I'm capable of," Ren replied, his voice low and threatening.

He started the car, and the two of them drove toward Smart's apartment.

Once they arrived and were waiting for Zoi, Ren began teasing Leo.

"Leo," Ren called out, smirking, "give me a kiss."

"Behave yourself," Leo replied, nudging him in the arm with a grin.

Just then, Zoi appeared in front of them.

"Hey Ren, how are you?" she greeted.

Seeing Leo too, she ran toward the car.

"Hmmm… you two have become inseparable, huh?" she said with a playful smile.

Leo grinned and waved back at her.

Ren's eyes scanned her up and down, his nerves immediately on edge.

"Zoi, go upstairs now and change!" he ordered.

"Where do you think you're going dressed like that?"

Zoi was wearing a skirt far too short and a sleeveless top that revealed her entire midriff.

"What's going on?" Zoi murmured, adjusting her top nervously.

"Go change into something else, please—or you're not going to the party today," Ren said firmly.

"Leo," Zoi called, "help me, please!"

"Don't waste your time," Ren replied sharply. "Leo won't help you—so just go change."

Leo smiled softly, speaking calmly.

"Zoi, what do you think?

Want us to go pick out a beautiful outfit?

I know a place with clothes that will leave you speechless."

A smile immediately lit up Zoi's face.

"Okay, let's go pick something pretty. I want to shine tonight," she said, hopping straight into the car.

Ren glanced at Leo and couldn't help but admire him.

Am I really this lucky to have met someone so perfect? he thought as he got into the car.

They stopped at a store, and Zoi tried on several outfits until they finally reached a decision—of course, with the approval of the "jury," Ren and Leo.

A sleek black dress hugged her figure perfectly, its short sleeves adorned with sparkling sequins that shimmered with every movement. The dress complemented her blonde hair beautifully.

Once she put it on, Zoi didn't want to take it off.

Leo and Ren laughed at her delight.

"Come on, guys. Let's go. Today, you're my bodyguards. Will you open the door for me when we stop?" she said.

They all burst out laughing.

"Zoi, don't exaggerate now," Ren said.

"Don't listen to Ren—I'll open the door for you," Leo added, laughing.

Finally, they arrived at the party. Leo immediately got out of the car and opened the door for Zoi.

As she stepped out, she looked like a princess, instantly catching everyone's attention.

Once they made sure Zoi had entered the venue, Ren and Leo lingered in the car for a moment.

Then they went inside, choosing a spot where Zoi wouldn't notice them.

The venue was huge and crowded, but the girls had picked a slightly more secluded area within the hall to celebrate.

"Ren," Leo whispered, "did we really need to come here? Isn't it a bit… strange? It feels like we're invading her privacy.

Smart left her in our care, and I don't want anything to happen to her while she's under my watch.

Look around—it's full of drunk people…"

He paused for a few seconds, thinking it over, but it didn't worry him too much. After all, she was the youngest in their circle, and everyone would be extra careful with her.
