"I summoned you… to help me." A pause, the void itself holding its breath. "And in return…" the grin widened, sharp as fate itself, "…I'll help you...."
Joseph was feeling anxious, sweating, voice shaking "o, ok, in wha, what for? " he said, with his words trembling, uneasy.
The big man respond, he's voice was gentle and calm yet powerful "Help me, design a new world."
Joseph blinked "heh? That's it?" eyes narrowing, confusion twisting his face, then shifted from disappointment, as he expecting something else, " ohh mean, I thought it would be something like reincarnation, just like in those webtoon." he thought.
Then Joseph's thought halted, as soon the God's voice echoed. He joltedly fix his posture—standing straight. "In one simple condition…" his tone sharpened. "Become… my assistant."
Joseph just blinked and added. "…Become your what?" he responded calmly with a little bit confuse.
"Yes. My assistant," the god repeated calmly, as if that explained everything.
Joseph blinked once again, then added "Yeah, uh… pretty sure you've got the wrong guy," he muttered, sarcasm barely masking his unease.
The god's glowing gaze didn't waver. When it finally spoke, eternity—calm, resonant, unshakable. "Never in my existence as a god have I known mistake—until now, at the hands of a mortal. Are you saying… I was wrong?"
With a startled laugh, Joseph waved both hands rapidly, as if trying to push the confusion away. "No no no, tha, that's not what I meant!" His voice wavered, caught between laughter and panic."What I mean is, why do you even need assistant?!, you're the almighty cosmic architect, and you need me for arts and crafts? I mean come to think of it, it's sounds ridiculous!" His voice cracked, tumbling over the words in a rush.
"I'm totally screwed, one hundred percent" he thought, while sweats dripping over his pale face.
For just a bit moment, the god answer's his question, The god's voice boomed, solemn and heavy, yet calm, echoing through the endless void. "It begins... when this world has rotted. Its balance is shattered, its people corrupted. To preserve existen—."
Joseph stood in front, silent, as the God's words crashed against him. echoed strangely—muffled and distorted, like whispers Deep underwater.
As time went on...
Joseph blinked. He tilted his head, then let out a yawn so exaggerated it echoed. " Uh huh, enternity, balance, blah blah." He scratched his ear, " is there any fast forward button for Devine speeches?" He thought...
The God's tone grew louder, trying to sound more imposing. "Only through destruction can perfection rise. Mortals—."
Another time passed by... Joseph's eyes glazed over. He began tracing circles in the air with his finger, and yawn much more wider—making his eyes to tears a bit. "Cool cool, destruction, perfection, Blah blah blah..."
"Even at the darkness you manage to scape from reality, it inspired even me" the god's voice was ended soft and gentle, and at last, it's finally over.
Joseph spoke, chin sitting above his palm, busy picking his nose."So you're been stalking me all this time huh."
"Stalking? No. Watching… perhaps." the god response while sweat drip over his Devine face.
"what's even the difference?! Stalker, watcher—it's all just creepy VIP seating for my misery!" Joseph cracked a voice, while still picking up his nose.
The god didn't respond—his face carved in silence, a stern mask touched with the faint curl of amusement at the corner of his lips.
Joseph crossed his arms with exaggerated seriousness, clearing his throat like a teacher about to lecture.
"So let me get this in summary…"
The god leaned back slightly. At last, it was his turn to listen.
But "summary" wasn't summary at all. Joseph went on and on, circling around the same words—balance, corruption, destruction—stretching them into dramaticmonologues, throwing in side comments and hand gestures like he was performing for an audience.
Time dragged.
The god's expression slowly dulled, his divine eyes half-lidded. " He literally said 'summary,' yet he's been yapping the whole day…"
When Joseph finally dropped back into his seat with a smug grin—"And that's basically it"—the chamber fell into silence.
The god blinked once, unimpressed. "Wow. You literally just repeated everything I've already said."
The god cleared his throat, straightening his posture. "Ahem! Anyway… where was I?"
With a casual flick of his wrist, a shimmering piece of parchment—etched with shifting stars and symbols—materialized in the empty void. "If you agree to our deal, just sign here."
Joseph leaned back, squinting at it.
"I've never heard of a god contract before… you're joking, right?"
Um, no," the god replied, voice calm, face utterly serious. "I learned this from the people who once lived on an old planet I created."
Joseph smirked, brow arched. "Really? And… where are they now?"
The god didn't blink. His voice cut clean, intentional. "Dead. Wiped out by an incurable disease… of their own making."
Silence slammed down like a weight. Joseph's grin faltered. unsure if he should laugh—or choke.
The god leaned closer, the parchment glowing brighter as his voice echoed through the void—calm, solemn, almost ceremonial.
"This contract binds both our sides. It ensures order, respect, and fulfillment of the deal. You shall gain my guidance… and in return, you shall abide by its protocols."
Joseph squinted at the flowing cosmic text. His hand hovered above the glowing quill, ready to sign—until the god's tone shifted, dropping lower.
"Ah… and should you ever break one of its conditions… the penalty is pain of eternity."
Joseph froze mid-motion, He turned his head slowly, staring at the god with wide.
"…Excuse me? Pain of what?"
The god remained perfectly calm, while looking from the distance, as if reciting a simple footnote.
"Eternity."
Joseph slammed the quill back on the parchment. "wait! And what kind of contract even is that?"
"I'm just joking! so just sign up already!" A burst voice echoed from the god.
Joseph's only response was a crooked grin—amusement laced with distrust flickering across his expression. For a brief moment, he twirled the glowing quill between his fingers, then pressed it against the cosmic parchment. Each stroke shimmered, wavering like fire in the void, until his name burned itself into the contract. "Ok now what?"
With a single snap of the God's colossal fingers, the void ignited. Stars erupted, streaking across the darkness like fireworks. They swirled and gathered, forming a vast constellation spiraling around a blinding sun that flared into existence at the center.
Planets emerged, gliding smoothly into orbit, each with moons trailing like silver ribbons. Meteors streaked by, glowing tails slicing through the cosmic storm. Rocks and fragments of distant worlds whirled past as if the entire galaxy was zooming outward, revealing its infinite scale.
Joseph floated, weightless. Gravity, light, and time coiled around his body, making him the center of creation. "From now own... you will be my assistant..."
