Chapter 54 - Gwangseong Quartet – The High School Kings Mobilize

The heart of Gwangseong was alive with tension, a mix of ambition and menace. In a fortified warehouse, the Gwangseong Quartet gathered. Four brothers, all high schoolers, yet commanding a city's underworld: Lee Hyun-soo, the eldest and mastermind; Lee Hyun-jin, the strategist; Lee Hyun-woo, the enforcer; and Lee Hyun-tae, the youngest but razor-sharp in intellect.

The room was filled with their lieutenants—other high schoolers tasked with overseeing squads of foot soldiers. Each lieutenant managed 20–30 foot soldiers armed with bats, pipes, knives, and occasionally firearms. The hierarchy was precise:

Captains (3 per brother): Dressed in dark jackets, they coordinated attacks and ensured squads followed orders.

Lieutenants: Silver-emblem armbands marked them, responsible for intelligence, reinforcements, and communications.

Foot Soldiers: The backbone, young but ruthless, following orders without question.

Scouts/Intelligence: Blending with the city's streets, they monitored Union movements, businesses, and local hangouts.

Hyun-soo slammed his hand on the table, silencing chatter. "Listen up! The middle school faction—this Union—is bold for kids their age. But tonight, they learn their limits. Each squad has targets. Everyone knows their role. We move swiftly, strike ruthlessly, and leave no gaps."

Hyun-jin unrolled a city map marked with Union-controlled businesses: internet cafés, karaoke rooms, arcades, and game lounges. "Squad Alpha and Beta will hit the northern arcades and cafes. Squad Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon cover the west neighborhoods. Scouts, report live updates. If the Union tries to reinforce, you notify immediately."

Hyun-woo cracked his knuckles. "I want their strongest confronted. Any middle schoolers interfering with our operations—they're handled. Keep them scared. Remember, we control these streets."

Hyun-tae, calm but dangerous, adjusted the map pins. "Union leaders—especially their main kid, Daniel Park—they're tactical. Expect traps. We don't rush in blindly. If he shows, he's isolated and neutralized first."

A lieutenant, visibly nervous, asked, "Sir… how do we handle civilians? Some of their hangouts are public."

Hyun-soo's gaze hardened. "Civilians get out of the way. We strike only at Union members. Any collateral is minimal, and it's your fault if it escalates."

The brothers then outlined the structure for the night's operation:

Lee Hyun-soo's team: Northern sectors, target cafés and arcades. Alpha and Beta squads under his direct command.

Lee Hyun-jin's team: Western sectors, handle internet cafés, karaoke rooms. Focus on isolating Union lieutenants.

Lee Hyun-woo's team: Enforce the hits, crush any resistance. Take down Union foot soldiers.

Lee Hyun-tae's team: Oversee intelligence, monitor city streets, and ensure no outside interference.

Hyun-soo leaned forward, eyes sharp as knives. "Tonight is not a simple skirmish. We're reclaiming our streets. Foot soldiers—execute without hesitation. Captains—coordinate and report. And the four of us? We move as predators, swift and precise. Daniel Park is a middle schooler, yes, but his organization is dangerous. Crush his squads, dominate the areas, and remind him—age doesn't matter when power decides the streets."

The room went silent, the weight of the plan sinking in. Each foot soldier imagined the night ahead—raids, combat, and the chaos of taking control. The captains adjusted gear, knives and bats glinting in the dim lights. Outside, the city slumbered, oblivious to the storm about to erupt.

Hyun-jin smirked. "By sunrise, every Union business, every claimed street corner in this sector, belongs to Gwangseong. They'll think twice before crossing us again."

Hyun-woo raised his fist, cracking it sharply. "Middle schoolers or not, tonight, we show them who's king!"

Hyun-tae's calm voice cut through, icy and precise: "And if Daniel Park interferes, he will learn, painfully, why high schoolers rule this city."

The Gwangseong Quartet's soldiers nodded in unison. The night was theirs. Every corner of the city would feel the crushing weight of the high school kings. And somewhere in the shadows, the Union's scouts would be watching, unaware that the full fury of Gwangseong was coming for them.
