breaking their kiss, they both gaze once more at the moon
"its gonna suck hiding our relationship huh?"
"yea.. but doesn't that make it even more exciting?"
while they could attribute heir hidden relationship to their status, the main reason is that seduction is one of the best ways of manipulation. and neither is ready to give that type of tool up.
a prime example is murphy, who had been seduced by Delilah already, and Cain. with his own plans
"there's alot i need to tell you huh? this is gonna suck..!"
these things include his true blessing, a few of his plans along with his connection to the headmaster
alot of these are due to the fact she can help him alot with these regards
but despite these bombshells.. the mischievous woman only has one goal
"so my boyfriend isn't just a 'boy' huh?"
"don't even."
"no fun~ but really, very useful blessing, there are probably better ones out there but not as versatile. but from most of what you told me.. what i can infer is you want one thing.. funding right?"
"indeed, most of my abilities need a large amount of resources to train, and who better to ask than a princess?"
"true. but what do i get in exchange?"
"for Echidna, I'm planning on having her take over the underworld, so you can feel free to use that. atleast until i go to the Maren kingdom and have a talk with my apparent daughter."
"oh and don't forget plenty of artifacts."
after speaking a bit more about their plans, both go back to their room to reassess the new tools at their disposal
'I'm only gonna get busier from now on..!'
deciding to let future him handle it, Cain changes to a different topic
'i can already guess three of the affinities i have.'
the first two are obviously charm and blood, the first he suspects to be water. gazing at the tattoo on his arm
'its likely that it does atleast something'
however, every single one of those were gotten by a gift, meaning he still doesn't know what element his body is naturally attuned to
'we can only guess..'
-TOMMOROW, MAGIC BASICS CLASS-
staring at the two students happily chatting in one of the front row, Cain makes a mental note to keep notice of them
'so atleast two of the reincarnators are mages..'
Camelia also decided to sit next to him, being one of the few she's familiar with, after all who would associate themselves with the crazy daughter of a family known for their poison's?
as the class soon settle's down at the entrance of the teacher, sephira Esmeralda. not because their respectful.. but because their too busy staring at her body
'atleast be subtle about it horny fucks'
Sephira, with her piercing purple eyes, simply stares at the students for a moment, before ignoring them completely, like air
'someone's blacklisted..'
"since all of you are at our academy. il assume you are all already mages with your core formed, however i do understand some of you are commoners, and do not have the funds to check your affinities, which isn't anything to be ashamed of."
"for those who already know their attributes just fill out the form given to you, those who don't simply raise your hand and an orb will be provided."
sadly, both the reincarnators had their attributes checked, while both are either a commoner or only from a minor noble family, its quite likely they had gotten one from one of the other reincarnates
given an orb, which simply writes out your affinities upon infusing with mana, the first two are already expected, blood which had casted him a glance from the ice cold vampire princess
and charm, earning him a few gazes here and there along with a thumbs up from camelia, who seems happy that they share atleast one affinity
the third being water as already expected. earning him even more looks, after all 3 affinities are already decently rare, albeit not impossible
the last one however was confusing, after all. despite being his original element.. it definitly didn't feel like something someone like him would have
'summoning magic..?'
Cain had never been one for friendships, infact. all but his one with Delilah are simply him using the other person, so one that requires him to summon, and build a bond with a creature or multiple seems out of place.
but what surprised him the most, along with many others is the fact its perhaps one of the rarest affinities in existence. since most summoning or familiars are either from a blessing or a contract with a magic beast
'but infact.. its probably one of the most useful affinities for me..'
Cains biggest ambition is to defeat the reincarnators.. the issue is that there are 6 of them, and one of him. so summoning a creature to help him would be of immense help.
infact, he would also be able to create incredibly powerful armor and weapons for his summons aswell, adding even more to their deadliness.
by now.. practically everyone is staring at him, including the teacher. after all, 4 affinities are quite rare, only a handful of the generations most promising talents having them, and 3 of those four are incredibly rare ones, only water being a common affinity.
"wowwwww! you really are interesting~ i knew i picked the right bestie!"
"camelia.. since when am i your.. 'bestie'?"
"since now bestie!"
knowing the type of person Camelia is.. Cain just resigns to his fate, arguing with her is like arguing with your girlfriend on literally anything, one way or another your getting what she wants.
soon after, many are done with their affinity checks, quite a few getting 2 3 and even 4, though non as rare as Cains, for the most part. the lesson was mostly on what they will be learning rather than anything.
after this, Camelia and Cain go to the cafeteria, meeting up with Delilah Murphy and Chris.
the reason Chris wasn't with them in the magic class is because spirit magic is quite different than normal magic, having its own specialized course due to its uniqueness
"so how were the people from the elite class?"
the one to answer him was murphy
"Weeklings, especially that stupid hero, don't even get why people like him that much!"
"lets not lie, murphy. if were going to be competing against them its better we acknowledge the fact their monsters, alot of them far better than many from our class"
with a loud hey! from murphy, Cain shares his own knowledge
"there's this group of six of them who constantly hang around each other, they seem incredibly close.. and their probably a few if not all the monsters you spoke of Delilah, among them is sylvia. they had all probably gotten some degree of training from her grandfather."
"so what's the plan? we may be quite talented ourselves but a few of them.. especially those six.. their in their own league, as much as i hate to admit it.."
flashing them a big smile.. Cain answers with far to much confidence for what he's saying
"the plan is win."
they definitely didn't need to know he had tried it just yesterday and he broke his entire body.. not at all.
"in reality though, there's alot of them we can easily counter, and that's with surface level knowledge. once we study them more it will be far easier to deal with them."
"like who?"
"lets take sylvia as an example. her trait is well known as perfection, though i suspect there's far more too it, but the point is.. that she can only fight if the conditions are perfect. the second you throw her off? we win."
"for example, using your telekinesis or even gravity, you can shift the dirt under her feet the second she's going to strike, destroying her stance for even a millisecond. but even a millisecond is no longer perfect no?"
everyone aside from Delilah, who had thought the same, ahh's in realization, the ordeal seeming far more manageable now.
"point is, we need to be ready to face losses. even at the cost of our pride, because though it. we learn their weaknesses, for example. during spars make sure not to throw sylvias footing off, else she'll find a counter. or if your fighting Lucian, the hero. try forcing him to reveal his cards."
soon after, they finish their meals. as Delilah him and murphy head to the training hall, since they have martial arts training
'il be able to learn some spearmanship now aswell.'
walking over to the training hall, a stroke of genius bashes Cain's head as he stares at his bloodred ring, given to him by the gift of the undying.
'if the ring is considered an artifact.. cant it be upgraded aswell?'
grabbing Delilah to the side for a moment, he reveals his idea
"so.. lets try to get some of the vampire princesses' blood shall we..?"
"i did always think vampires were kinda hot.. so lets go for it!"
pretty much, the ring gives him some of the characteristics of a vampire, like sharper teeth and paler skin, so what he's going to do, he's going to use the princesses' blood to fuse the ring fully into his body, becoming one with him. hopefully making him even more similar to a vampire and perhaps stronger through it.
-CHAPTER END-
heyo yalls! pls drop sm power stones if you can!(idk i see everyone saying this so ima do it too ig)
this time im gonna give advice more than a tip. and its basically what you should do for your first novel, you see. most writers have this big idea and this cool super unique concept, but your going to fuck it up if you start with it as your first novel, first get some experiance writing a different novel with a more generic plot first. heck even g3, author of shadow slave wrote a different novel before shadow slave
point is even if the plot is generic, like an academy or isekai or reincarnation, its better to practice than feel like you fucked up your big novel idea. but again, its advice. so do what you feel is best!
peace!
