Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 : “The Price of Healing.”

A room was filled with books, glass jars with weird stuff, and a skeleton that was hanging in the corner. Papers were scattered all over the ground, and at the center of the room was a table, with a person sitting on a chair reading a book, covering his face with it.

Suddenly, the door slammed open, and in front of the door stood a man with a well-built body, wearing a shirt and trousers, brown hair, and a fierce look of anger on his face.

The man walked toward the table and slammed his hand on it, making a loud bang.

The person who was reading the book removed it from his face — it was Dr. Kelvin who had been reading.

"Hoo-hoo, look who's come to see me. What's up, Tejas? How are you? How's your brother's condition?" Dr. Kelvin asked.

"Why did you do it?" Tejas demanded with anger.

"What did I do? Oh, one minute," Dr. Kelvin said.

Then Dr. Kelvin tapped his hand on the table bell.

At the sound, the female nurse who had been with Dr. Kelvin when he treated Tarun entered the room.

"Nurse 'S', did we do anything wrong?" Dr. Kelvin asked.

Hearing the exchange , Tejas got even angrier.

"This is not the time for your jokes! Why did you treat my brother like that?" Tejas asked.

"Ohh, you're talking about your brother? I thought he was a man, but no — he was a baby who cries and tells everything to his brother," Dr. Kelvin said with a smirk.

Hearing this, Tejas could no longer control his anger. He reached out, grabbed Dr. Kelvin by the collar, and pulled him toward him.

"Wait, wait — calm down, calm down. Anger is not good for you. You need to know your limits," Dr. Kelvin said.

Then Tejas let go of Kelvin's collar.

"And also, you're acting like I tortured your brother. I was just helping him — you should be thanking me for that," Dr. Kelvin said.

Those words only made Tejas angrier.

"Do you know he's now suffering from a fever because of you? I'll make you suffer the same way my brother is suffering!" Tejas shouted.

"Yeah, sure — you'll make me suffer in your dreams. A single injection of anesthesia costs more than you think. Don't you know that? You're expecting me to give him anesthesia while I'm treating him for free? I thought he could endure it by looking at him, but he was just shouting and screaming unnecessarily. So, to make him stop, I just played with him. Is that wrong?" Dr. Kelvin said with an innocent face.

"You—" Tejas began, but before he could continue, Dr. Kelvin interrupted.

"Remember your position in our gang. Do you know what will happen to you if I report this to them?" Dr. Kelvin said coldly.

Hearing this, Tejas couldn't say anything. Without another word, he turned and walked toward the door to leave.

"And one more thing — you said your brother has a fever, right? Put a wet cloth on his forehead to relieve the fever. If it still continues after a day, then call me. I'll be available anytime to take an extra call to look after him," Dr. Kelvin said with a smile.

Hearing this, Tejas grew angrier, and before leaving the room, he punched the wall.

The punch was so strong that it caused a crack in the wall.

"Hot-headed people really need to control their emotions," Dr. Kelvin said, looking at Tejas as he left.
