Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 : The Brother’s Vow

Heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway, growing closer from the dark until a figure came into view.

It was Tejas, Tarun's brother. Two men followed behind him.

They stopped in front of the room; Ravi was standing beside the door. Tejas approached him.

"How is he?" Tejas asked.

"Big boss, your brother is inside the room. He looks like he's in a lot of pain," Ravi said.

Tejas pressed a hand to his forehead.

"What kind of brother am I? I couldn't help my brother get revenge," Tejas thought.

Tejas entered the room.

Tarun lay on the bed, gripping the sheets, exhausted and wracked with pain. Tejas went to his side, placed a hand on Tarun's shoulder, and sat on a chair.

At the touch, Tarun opened his eyes, tears running down his face. Tejas looked at him, ashamed.

"Shame on me. I couldn't provide proper medical care for my brother," Tejas thought, desperate.

"Br… brother… please relieve me from this p… pain," Tarun gasped, breathing heavily.

Hearing Tarun, Tejas bowed his head.

"Sorry, sorry. I couldn't do anything for you until now. But wait—just a few days and I'll make you stronger," Tejas promised.

"Br… brother, I don't need to bec...ome stronger. I want you to ...teach a les....son to the person who did this…" Tarun said in a shaking voice.

Tejas was stunned by those words. He pushed himself up, crossed the room, and went to where Ravi and the two others stood.

He grabbed Ravi by the neck, slammed him against the wall, and pinned him there.

"Answer me—why did you lie to me when I asked how my brother ended up like this? You said it was an accident. What does that mean? Who hurt my brother?" Tejas demanded angrily.

"A boy from the 3CG floor," Ravi gasped.

Tejas dropped Ravi to the floor and turned to the other two men."Take this bastard and find the one who did this to my brother. I want him to suffer the same pain my brother felt," Tejas ordered, his face set and furious.

Meanwhile, when Manu found out that somebody was following him, he sent Srini to the house.

Then Manu started to move toward the person who was following him.

Seeing Manu moving toward him, the person who was following Manu began to move away.

The person was wearing a brown cloth around him covering his whole body, and after moving for some distance, he started to run.

Seeing the person running, Manu also started to run towards the person.

The person reached the center of the town and blended in with the crowd.

Manu was not able to see him because of the people, so he started to jump to look for him.

Then he found the person running toward the main gate of the town to leave.

Manu sprinted toward him to catch him, but because of the crowd, he was unable to reach the main gate in time. When he finally reached near the gate, he saw the person running in the distance, and the person turned back to look at Manu.

Seeing the person looking at him, Manu said to himself,"I thought he didn't come for me, but now I'm sure he did. I need to know who sent him—I have to catch him."

Then Manu started to run in the direction where the person had gone.
