Chapter 4 - Ch.4 The doctor’s Secret

Tony woke in the middle of the night and reached for the table beside his hospital bed. His fingers brushed against something cold and solid. Curious, he pulled it closer. Under the dim light, he saw what it was—Beyblade parts.

A face bolt.

A broken energy ring.

One-third of a metal wheel.

And a scratched performance tip.

His breath caught.

"…Could this be his Bey?" Tony muttered. "It's so damaged… it can't even be repaired. The only thing that looks fine is the face bolt."

He picked up each piece slowly, turning them in his hands.

"An attack-type energy ring… a balance-type metal wheel… and a wide ball performance tip?" His eyes widened. "That's such a strange mix…"

In this world, building a Bey wasn't just luck. It required skill, knowledge, and the heart of a real Blader. A strong Beyblade was a reflection of its user.

But the boy who once owned this body had none of that.

He was a failure at school, always cheating to pass. In battles, he relied on dirty tricks and bullied kids younger than him. Whenever he lost, he ran home crying and hid inside a fantasy where he was unbeatable.

Tony sighed, shaking his head.

He lay back on the bed, holding the face bolt. As he studied it, he noticed something strange—the color.

"…Grey? Am I seeing things? Or is this real?" he whispered.

Just then, his stomach growled. His eyes shifted to the side table. On the lower shelf sat a plate covered with a glass lid—three bananas and half an apple.

The room was quiet, lit by dim lights glowing softly from each corner. It was just enough brightness to keep the space alive without disturbing a patient's sleep.

Hungry, Tony sat up, uncovered the plate, and ate slowly. The fruit was sweet and refreshing.

When he finished, he wandered to the window and pulled it open. A silver half-moon hung in the sky, shining faintly over the city.

"Wow…" he whispered. "The lights… that skyscraper in the middle… it's beautiful."

His eyes lit up with wonder. In his old life, he had never seen such a dazzling city. For a while, he just stood there, lost in the sight.

After half an hour, Tony finally closed the window, set the plate back on the table, and sank into bed again. His eyelids grew heavy, and soon, sleep returned.

Morning – 9:18 AM

The sun was already up when Tony woke with a long yawn. He stretched his arms, feeling full of energy, then walked to the window for another look at the city.

Not long after, the doctor entered for the final check-up. "Please sit," he said kindly. Tony did as told, and soon the doctor was checking his pulse and eyes.

The door opened again. His mother stepped in, her expression tight with worry.

"Doctor, is my son alright?" she asked.

"Mrs. Durante," the doctor replied with a calm smile, "everything looks normal. Tony is free to go home."

Relieved, she hugged her son tightly. The doctor scribbled a prescription and handed it to her.

Together, Tony and his mother walked out of the room, chatting softly about his health. Then, out of nowhere, she asked:

"By the way, Tony… where's your Bey's face bolt?"

"Oh… I left it on the bed, Mom."

Her eyes narrowed. "How can you be so careless? That piece is worth more than 150 dollars! Go back and get it right now."

Tony nodded quickly and hurried toward Room 41, while his mother pulled out her phone to book a cab.

Inside the room, Tony searched the bed. Finally, he found the face bolt hidden under the pillow. Just as he picked it up, the door creaked open.

The doctor stepped inside. His brows furrowed. "Tony? What are you doing here?"

"I… I forgot my face bolt," Tony replied nervously. "I just came back to get it."

The doctor nodded slowly and walked past him, reaching up to a shelf for a file. As he stretched, his white coat shifted slightly.

Tony's eyes widened.

Strapped to the doctor's waist was a belt… and tucked into it was a Beyblade. Its face bolt pulsed with a faint red glow.

Tony froze where he stood.
