Chapter 3 - The prophesy unfolds

Kyung Joo opened his eyes to see a brilliant blue light surrounding him, illuminating the sky. The light was so intense that it seemed to pierce through his very soul. A great sage appeared before him as a spirit, radiating an aura of wisdom and power. The sage's presence was both calming and intimidating, and Kyung Joo felt a sense of reverence wash over him.

"You have been chosen," the sage said, his voice echoing in Kyung Joo's mind. "I have seen the potential in you to wield the artifact. It is a powerful tool, but it comes with great responsibility."

The sage offered Kyung Joo the staff, and he took it, feeling an immense surge of power course through him. The staff seemed to hum with energy, and Kyung Joo could feel its power resonating within him. In that brief moment, he saw and knew everything, the secrets of the universe, the balance of power, and the weight of his destiny.

But before he could process the revelation, everything went dark, and Kyung Joo fainted. His body crumpled to the ground, the staff still clutched in his hand.

Meanwhile, the villagers who had witnessed the blue light reported to the village head, who was shocked by the news. "I knew this day would come," he muttered to himself, his eyes narrowing in concern, sweat drooling on his face.

The village head, a wise and aged man named Kang, had spent his entire life studying the prophecy and preparing the village for this moment. He knew that the staff's power was both a blessing and a curse, and that the village's fate hung in the balance.

Without hesitation, Kang sent warriors into the forest to search for the being who had taken the staff, with orders to execute it on sight. The villagers had been tasked with protecting the forest and awaiting the next wielder of the staff for generations, and they would not falter in their duty.

The village had a rich history, and the prophecy had been laid down centuries ago. Over time, it had become a myth, a story told to children to frighten them into behaving. But the villagers knew the truth, the staff's power was real.

The villagers had been fighting off the Unicrofts, creatures sent to their universe by the previous owner of the staff. The staff's power to create these monsters also held the power to destroy them. The Unicrofts avoided the forest, fearing the immense power of the previous wielder.

As the warriors searched the forest, they stumbled upon Kyung Joo lying helplessly. Fei Joo, Kyung Joo's father, saw him and knew immediately that he was the wielder. Fei Joo's eyes narrowed, his expression unreadable. He gazed at his son, a mix of emotions swirling within him – shock, concern, and a hint of recognition.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Fei Joo's thoughts flashed back to the day he had abandoned Kyung Joo in the forest, and he wondered if he had made a grave mistake. He looked at his son, and his heart ached with a mix of emotions.

And then, everything hung in the balance, as Fei Joo's next move will be. What should I do he thought to himself.
