Tring Tring... Tring Tring...
The soft vibration of the alarm from one side of the bed woke Eash. As he opened his eyes, a strange feeling washed over him. Something unknown, unclear-yet oddly familiar.
That dream again... the same world, the same mysterious girl...
"What's happening to me?" - he whispered to himself.
"The same dream every day? Why? How?"
A screen flashed before his eyes - 7:00 AM.
Just then, his mother's voice called out from outside of the room:
- "Eash, are you awake?"
- "Yes, Mom, I'm up," - he replied, unlocking the door.
His mom entered with a tray of breakfast in hand. Lately, she seemed to be taking extra care of him. Perhaps deep down, she knew Eash would soon leave for university-for a few years at least.
She placed the tray on the side of the bed and looked at him.
Eash lowered his eyes and said,
- "Mom, I've decided... I'm going to that university."
His mother was both surprised and happy.
This boy-who rarely shows interest in anything-is saying he wants to go study? And that too, so far away?
- "You know, the email said I have to apply within two days. So I thought I'd do it today," - Eash added.
His mom smiled gently and nodded.
- "Why not? Apply today. I'm with you."
She smiled again and said,
- "Let's go shopping today. I'll get you lots of things."
Eash nodded and thought to himself,
"Ah, here we go again..."
After his mother left the room, his face turned serious again.
He slowly walked to the secret door of the room-the entrance to the hidden lab.
The door recognized him. Lights began to glow...
"Access granted" - a soft sound, and the door slid open.
The lift took him down to a lower floor. As he stepped into the hidden lab-shrouded in black metal walls and glowing blue light-he walked up to the main console.
The computer screen was holographic, and the keyboard-invisible.
Eash was used to typing in the air.
Today he was searching for his father's old data files. Suddenly, his eyes landed on a strange title in the drafts folder-
"FLY IN THE SKY"
File Title: Fly in the Sky
Author: Dr. Arnas Lorenas
Publication: Secret - Experimental Testing Only
- "I've never seen this before..."
As he opened the file, streams of data appeared on the screen. Some known laws of physics-like the Theory of Relativity-and some entirely new theories not yet discovered by science. He began to read... Bla bla bla. .
One section read-
GRAVITATIONAL CONVERSION LAW (GCL):
"Every human body contains specific neural receptors capable of receiving high-speed particle signals. If these signals sync with a certain brainwave frequency, the individual can temporarily alter their own weight. This creates a Gravitational Light Zone-allowing the person to float. Gravity becomes weakened."
Later in the file:
"The Gravity Braking Law - A Possibility to Override Earth's Gravitational Force"
Description:
The greatest limitation is gravity. But if we could create a counter-field that temporarily "brakes" gravity, a person could control the gravitational force acting on their body.
Core Theory:
Gravity is a plain force that constantly pulls us downward.
But if this force is disrupted by a Neuro-Electro Magnetic Pulse (NEMP), we can momentarily disconnect our body's gravitational link through specific bio-points.
Equation Model (fictional):
G(f) - B(nemp) = W(z)
Where,
G(f) = Gravity Force
B(nemp) = Braking Pulse via NEMP
W(z) = Weightless Zone
Condition:
This system only works when the person's nervous system is linked with an AI signal that can read both brainwaves + emotion signals.
In short:
A person can fly only when their brainwave and bio-energy are properly synced with the Gravity Braking Pulse."
Eash felt something off. It seemed the file was incomplete. It didn't say how to create this power. He dug through more drafts looking for clues.
The entire day passed inside the lab. His mom had left for her duty in the morning and would return soon.
Eventually, disappointed, Eash came out of the lab.
Back in his room, he called out:
- "Ena!"
The cat came running to him and curled up in his lap comfortably.
Whenever Eash felt down, Ena was his only companion.
He sent a brain signal-
Mom is coming. She's 100 meters away. Her car's speed: 0.5 m/s. ETA: 3.33 minutes.
Moments later, the doorbell rang. Eash was already ready in the drawing room.
As he opened the door, he said,
- "Let's go. I'm ready."
His mother smiled,
- "Hmm, get in."
Nearby was a massive digital shopping mall.
Nobody really shops in person anymore-but this mall was built just for show.
The name of the mall was "NeoMart ZYX."
From the outside, it looked like a giant glass dome, glowing with soft blue lights.
As they stepped inside, a robot at the entrance scanned them and said,
- "Welcome, Lorenas Family. Please proceed."
Inside, there were no humans-only silence, and service robots gliding across the floor. Every corner had hanging holoscreens showcasing tech products, gadgets, and university-special equipment.
A guide robot said,
- "Mr. Eash, tell me what you need. Here's a list."
Eash and his mom began picking out the items one by one.
The list included:
Neuro-Lens 3.0: Wearable lenses for reading information.
Airpad v12: A floating pad displaying books and screens in holograms.
Handwave Kit: Gesture-based command tool, no typing needed.
Micro-Signal Earchip: Direct communication from teachers or AI to the ear.
Portable EM Analyzer: A device to analyze electromagnetic signals anywhere.
BrainSync Band: A headband to monitor brainwaves and help maintain focus.
As they walked around, Eash didn't check the time, but his brain picked it up-
"59.0875 minutes already."
Nope. Mom hasn't changed at all.
At the payment desk, his mother took out her Digital Identity Card- a standard ID and bank account combined, used by everyone in the 30th century.
After settling the bill, they walked toward the exit.
And that's when it happened.
A girl walked into the mall just as they were leaving. She had long, flowing black hair, swaying gently with the breeze. She passed by Eash-and in that moment, time seemed to freeze.
That scent... he had smelled it before. Just like a Sakura flower!
Then he realized-
"I... I can't read this girl's mind...? How is that possible? Who is she?"
A strange discomfort and curiosity stirred within him.
He almost turned around to look-but just then, his mom called,
- "Eash, come on."
He lowered his head, didn't look back, and slowly walked toward the car.
To be continued...
