Chapter 8 - 08◑ The Lost City of Atlantis

[ A LITTLE SECRET :

Name:

Atlantis-Aurelia (meaning "Golden Atlantis")

---

History & Origins:

Thousands of years ago, Atlantis-Aurelia was not just a city, but an entire floating continent hidden by the Earth's natural magnetic field. It was invisible to satellites, and unreachable by machines-protected by ancient gravitational codes.

Its people, known as the Aurelians, were descendants of early Earth civilizations who mixed advanced technology with deep spiritual wisdom. They could control gravity, light, and memory-abilities later forgotten by the outside world.

---

The Fall & Isolation:

Atlantis did not sink. Instead, it chose to vanish, hiding itself after a war with outsiders who tried to steal their knowledge. Before disappearing, they left symbolic markers- It's a kind of bacteria which can contain memory even for thousands years'

---

Government:

A monarchy now rules the city. King Orilen , Honami's father, is the current ruler. The royal family, however, is divided between preserving tradition and engaging with the outside world. The capital city is called : Riyana

---

City Design:

Buildings: Circular, floating platforms made of white bio-stone that glows in moonlight.

Energy: Everything is powered by gravity crystals stored in underground chambers.

Transport: Silent floating walkways, gliding skyfish, and crystal-locked portals.

Security: "Windmen" patrol the skies-riders on genetically altered birds who can sense time vibrations.

Language: The ancient script is made of glowing symbols that change shape based on emotion.

---

Secrets of Atlantis:

The Memory Vault: Holds memories of all Aurelians. They invented a bacteria for this purpose.

The Gateway Tree: A living tree that chooses who can enter the "heart of Atlantis."

The Forbidden Tower: Sealed for centuries; inside lies the truth about why Atlantis disappeared.

...

Arush slowly stepped inside the large, mysterious door.

And then... he stopped.

What opened up before his eyes wasn't just a dream, but a magical sight shaped by time itself. A wide forest surrounded him with tall trees, and across that forest lay a vast green field.

On the other side of the field, in the distance, stood a royal city-huge white stone buildings, each polished so perfectly, it looked like someone had cared for them for thousands of years.

The city seemed to have grown out of the forest-nature and human craftsmanship blended beautifully. The buildings were round, made of stone, with strange symbols carved on them.

Shiny crystal domes sparkled in places, and white stone bridges connected the buildings. Colorful vines wrapped around them, adding an ancient charm.

"This is... Atlantis," Arush whispered. "I read about it in my father's files..."

That meant where he stood now was the island of Atlantis! He though that was just a myth described by An old greek philosopher Plato around 360 BCE.

"Let's go," said the girl beside him in a calm voice. "Be careful. The Windmen must not see us."

They moved forward, hiding behind the trees. Arush looked up at the sky and saw huge white birds flying. On each bird's back sat a guard dressed in white clothes. They were searching below-the sky guards of Atlantis.

They walked through the shadows until they reached a small, old wooden cottage. It looked nothing like the grand city-more like a peaceful home hidden in nature.

The girl knocked on the door.

"Grandma Shina! I'm here! Open up! Look who I brought!"

The door opened. An elderly woman stood there with a gentle smile, her white hair tied back.

"Oh my! A new guest! This must be the boy you mentioned earlier? But where were you all night, dear?"

"Nowhere... just in the forest," the girl replied with a cheeky smile.

"The royal guards are looking for you, you know?" said Grandma Shina.

"Again? My dad is being too serious these days... I'm not a little kid anymore!"

They went inside. The cottage smelled like fruit, dry leaves, and old wood. Grandma asked them to sit on two wooden benches and placed a basket of strange but juicy fruits in front of them.

"That's why he worries. One day the whole kingdom will be in your hands. You need to act wisely, my dear."

"Feels like I even wanted that..." Honami lowered her eyes.

Just then, footsteps were heard outside. Several royal attendants, wearing long white silk robes, stood at the door.

"Princess Honami, we know you are inside. The queen is worried. Please return to the palace."

Honami's face fell. "Ugh... they came after all..."

Grandma Shina gently held her hand. "You should go now. I'll take care of this boy. Come back anytime...

with lots of love, dear."

Before leaving, Honami looked into Arush's eyes.

"I'll be back... stay here for now."

And then she disappeared into the green forest, leaving behind the mystery of a lost kingdom-and Arush, now sitting in the middle of a living legend.

_____

A soft, furry touch-suddenly I opened my eyes and got so surprised that I almost screamed,

- "Ena...!"

Ugh, I can't read the minds of animals. Ena must've been sitting quietly on my trolley all this time, waiting for everyone to fall asleep. That's why my brain didn't get any signal about her tricks. I didn't even realize what she was up to!

Anyway, saying I was annoyed to see her would be unfair. Honestly, I was quite happy. Carrying a memory around like her all the time feels different. But at the same time, I'm a little worried too.

I closed my eyes and went over all the university rules in my head. As far as I understood, they don't really follow the normal rules of the Earth here.

So, there was no mention of animals or pets-neither yes, nor no. Well, I'll deal with it when the time comes. Meanwhile, Ena quietly settled herself in my lap like she owned the place.

It was almost 3 AM. I realized I wouldn't be able to sleep anymore tonight. I clicked on the bedside keyboard, a few options popped up, and I chose cold coffee. Ena climbed onto my shoulder as I stood up and walked to the balcony.

The roof above had been opened. Under the artificial starlight, the sky sparkled, and everything around was silent. It felt strange. How different my dream world is from the real one! I wish... if only my dream was real...

Suddenly, my brain started sending signals forward. As I looked ahead, I saw a light turn on in one of the rooms-on the second floor of the big hall room across from mine. Directly opposite. I scanned it and realized-it was the principal's office. But who went there so late at night?

The distance between these two cabins is so great that a normal eye wouldn't be able to see it clearly. So, no one could see me from there, especially with the darkness here. Still, I adjusted the focus of my eye lens a bit more-though I didn't really need to. I saw a person walking around the room slowly, searching for something. On my eye-screen, this popped up:

___

Name: Kalhen Mitsuha

Age: 41 years, 3 months, 8 days

Height: 5 feet 9.5 inches

Ability: Senior Professor of PSTU, Psychology Department

___

Honestly, I was a little surprised. I knew very well that no one was allowed to enter there without permission. So what was he doing there this late at night?

I returned to my bed. It would be morning soon. I kept thinking about what to do with Ena. Poor thing had already fallen asleep beside my pillow.
