GTAG Chapter 92 Three Factions at War?

Twenty years had passed in the blink of an eye.

During this time, Godzilla remained hidden within an undersea volcano, swimming in the magma. His presence made almost no impact on the outside world, for he hadn't left the magma even once in those two decades. At most, he would shift locations when the surrounding lava energy grew insufficient.

But the world above was anything but quiet.

Creatures infected by the G-virus had grown increasingly active. At first, there were no more than twenty such beings in total. Yet something strange occurred over the years—they began to reproduce. Entire broods were born, sometimes one, sometimes over a dozen at a time.

With this, their numbers multiplied rapidly. Once the offspring grew to a certain size, their mothers would drive them away, forcing them to build nests elsewhere. As a result, their territories expanded drastically.

It was only then that Hank and his group finally encountered others like them—or perhaps their exact kind. But instead of kinship, these meetings brimmed with hostility.

The creatures viewed Hank and his companions as intruders trespassing on their lands. The battles that followed were brutal. Though Hank's team managed to kill one, that encounter served as a grim omen. From then on, every time they crossed paths with such beings, they were attacked. Eventually, they had no choice but to avoid them altogether.

Meanwhile, Umbrella's bases fell one after another. Attacks by the "Watchers" easily shattered their defenses, leaving the corporation's leadership doubtful of any fortification. With no better options, they chose to hide their facilities in ever more secretive places.

This made Hank's mission nearly impossible. Without an inside source, they might never have found those hidden bases. But fortune favored them—there was a traitor within Umbrella. With help from the inside, Hank's team discovered and destroyed every last Umbrella stronghold.

Godzilla, watching from his volcanic throne, had anticipated a grand spectacle from those self-proclaimed gods. Instead, it fizzled to nothing.

Umbrella never did manage to create a serum for the T-virus. The difficulty of production was immense, and on top of that, the Watchers had plundered vital resources, crippling progress.

With Umbrella gone, Alice and Hank parted ways. Alice set out to find more human survivors, while Hank and his companions sought a peaceful home near the mountains—though still close enough to a city that they could vent their frustrations by slaughtering zombies.

The world diverged sharply from its original course. Zombies remained, yet their numbers dwindled. Survivors were fewer still. But without Umbrella manipulating events, cautious humans had a chance to endure.

Then came a new breed of apex predator.

Some called them "Earth Dragons," for they resembled wingless dragons. Others dubbed them "Giant Lizards," since they looked like massive reptiles. Whatever the name, one fact was certain: neither humans nor zombies could provoke them and expect to live.

Of course, zombies didn't care. Mindless and instinct-driven, they hurled themselves at Earth Dragons only to be devoured.

As years passed, the zombie plague weakened. Even with the T-virus, ordinary undead could not persist forever. One by one, they collapsed into lifeless corpses.

This led to food shortages for the Earth Dragons. Though not in danger of extinction—they were too efficient as hunters—life was no longer as simple as before, when prey practically walked into their jaws. Wild animals now roamed abandoned cities, filling the void, but the feast was not endless.

Thus, the Earth settled into a strange balance—three factions vying for dominance.

The first: the Earth Dragons. Few in number, but each an unstoppable juggernaut. A single adult could slaughter armies.

The second: animals. They were countless, spread across the globe, adapting quickly to the changed world.

The third: humanity. Scarce in population, yet armed with the remnants of civilization. So long as they avoided Earth Dragons, survivors carved out comfortable enough lives.

If this world had been one of spiritual energy and evolution, perhaps Godzilla would have witnessed true three-way warfare. As it stood, only two powers remained destined to clash: humans and Earth Dragons. With the latter's spread and the former's ambition, conflict was inevitable.

············

Deep beneath the earth, magma flowed like the planet's blood.

From the depths of the ocean, a volcano erupted. The explosion shook the seabed with violent earthquakes. Lava spewed forth, carrying strange materials that cooled into bizarre stones, some glittering with embedded gemstones.

The narrow crater expanded into a yawning maw hundreds of meters wide.

And from within the boiling magma, a colossal figure slowly emerged.

Godzilla, his body still cloaked in molten fire, stepped forth. He looked around and realized—this was not the same volcano he had once burrowed into.
