"Among the types of Alchemy I teach you, redstone is the one that relies least on magic. I've shown it to you before, but redstone also needs to be lit. You can understand it as a kind of infinite energy, but you need to give it an initial burst of energy."
Kaisen pulled out a redstone block and placed it on the office desk.
"For example, if I create an Alchemy construct made of redstone, it needs a certain amount of magic to operate. Let's set this amount of magic as X."
"And redstone is equivalent to the energy source of this Alchemy construct. If we apply X points of magic to ordinary redstone, it can continuously output these X points of magic."
"However, even just these X points can exhaust most of the magic of a second-year Little Wizards like you. If you don't believe me, try it. This redstone block, about the size of a fingertip, is roughly X points of magic." Kaisen said, then pushed the redstone block towards Neville.
Neville held it in his hand and realized that this redstone block was different from the ones Kaisen had given them before. It was much dimmer and lacked the strange magic fluctuations.
It seemed the redstone blocks he had given them before had already been activated by Professor Kaisen, and this was its original state.
Neville clenched his fist and began to infuse magic into the redstone. Only when he had infused it to its limit did he place the now lit redstone back on the table, his palm already covered in sweat.
However, a determined expression still remained on his tense little face.
Seeing this, Kaisen picked up the redstone and looked at Neville with a helpless expression: "Good talent… Tell me why."
"I want to use Alchemy to make gifts for Harry and them. They are… my good friends who didn't look down on me when I was like that."
Kaisen looked at the somewhat embarrassed Neville with a slight smile: "Hmm… It's barely acceptable. At least it's stronger than the magic of most second-year Little Wizardss."
"Then, Professor, do you agree?"
"I agree, but you can't hide it from your three little friends, or rather, you can hide it in parts. You can hide the fact that you're making gifts for them, and give them a surprise then."
"But you absolutely cannot hide the fact that you're learning Alchemy from me if you consider them friends."
"After all, making progress secretly behind your friends' backs is a bit sneaky. In short, it will make them think you're not being honest, and of course, I know you don't mean it that way."
Kaisen explained patiently.
"Uh… What should I do now? Or can you help me, act a little?" Neville asked awkwardly.
"No need. Just tell them the truth, or you can bring them all over. At worst, I'll be the bad guy and reject them all, leaving just you."
"Ah?"
"It's fine, they won't resent me because of this."
Neville nodded: "Thank you, Professor! I'll think of another reason. It's already quite embarrassing that you're taking me on." Then he turned back and started… physical exercise.
"Should I make a portal for them… Never mind, exercise is good for their health." Kaisen watched Neville gradually run off… Then, thinking about how Neville would have to run this round trip every day to his office to study Alchemy, he couldn't help but want to laugh.
"Pfft!"
Drip, drip, drip…
As he was laughing, a red crystal ball on the office desk flashed again.
He casually pressed the crystal ball, and as a faint light flashed across the redstone lines on the ceiling, the distant door opened with a click.
Lockhart… or rather, our Tom, subconsciously looked towards the original Alchemy Professor's office desk, using his student-era memories, and then he saw…
"Is this a Quidditch Pitch?" Tom walked into the alchemy office with some surprise, curiously examining a corner of the office, where a huge machine stood behind a glass wall.
They operated silently and precisely there. With Tom's O grade in Alchemy, he couldn't even figure out what the machine did, let alone its principles.
"What are you here for?" Kaisen leaned back in his chair, asking with a displeased expression as he looked at Tom, who was wearing Lockhart's skin, in the distance.
"To mend our friendship." Tom, having reviewed Lockhart's memories, naturally knew the source of the two Professors' conflict. He then said with an elegant smile that seemed out of place on Lockhart's flamboyant face.
"Oh, then I truly thank you, the great best-selling author Gilderoy Lockhart. Why haven't you gone into the wilderness to find some poor Werewolf mister and treat them with your invented enchantment book therapy?"
"Is it because you don't know how? If you don't, I can teach you, if your brain, which is filled with that damned smile and has no more wrinkles, can learn it." Kaisen mocked from his chair.
"I am very sorry. I came today precisely for this… to apologize to you."
Kaisen clicked his tongue, marveling that Lockhart had finally said something sensible. He rarely lifted his eyelids and looked Lockhart directly in the eye.
[Human] [magic] [Soul]
Soul?
Kaisen was puzzled by the newly appeared term above Lockhart's head. Not to mention the last time he buried him in the dirt, even this morning at breakfast, this term wasn't there.
Yet, in less than half a day…
Something's not right…
Something is very, very wrong.
"What do you want?" Kaisen gripped the armrest of his chair and sat up a little straighter.
"To seek your forgiveness." Tom, with Lockhart's skin on his face, said with an incredibly sincere expression.
As for seeking forgiveness… of course, that was nonsense.
His true purpose in coming here was to see how capable this so-called Alchemy Professor truly was. If he was only slightly stronger than Lockhart, but with limited strength, then he would immediately initiate a zero-frame attack.
He would settle things right here in the alchemy office!
However, when he actually walked into the office, things developed somewhat… differently from what he had imagined.
Although Alchemists were wealthy and would even use Alchemy constructs for their quills, and their permanent locations usually had backup plans, Tom was absolutely not afraid.
Even with backup plans, how strong could they be? At most, they'd have some amulets inscribed with Protego, or a sudden curse from a corner.
But this alchemy office… it was unusual.
Not to mention its area, which was almost as large as the Black Lake, even the very top floor of the office had a shape like a chandelier, but the empty space in its center, honestly, looked exactly like a cannon muzzle.
