Chapter 3 - WHO IS THIS EMPLOYEE ?

As we saw yesterday, how Sam schedules a meeting and during the meeting realizes that an employee hasn't arrived yet. Just like Sam says to Mr. Pandey, "I told you, no one should be late." At that moment, a voice comes from the door, saying, "I apologize for being late." And as soon as Sam looks at the boy, he can't take his eyes off him. There was something about his presence—calm yet confident—that immediately drew attention.

Then Sam looks toward the door and sees a young man, about 25 years old, standing there. He is 6'3" tall, with a strong, athletic build that made him look even taller. The boy is wearing a crisp white shirt, perfectly ironed, and black pants that fit him perfectly, making him look sharp and professional. His hair is black, styled upward, slightly messy on both sides in a way that looked deliberate, giving him a charmingly casual vibe. Truly, the boy was very attractive. His facial features were striking, with sharp eyes, a defined jawline, and a smile that was subtle yet magnetic. He was extremely handsome, the kind of person who naturally commands attention without trying. Sam keeps staring at him, unable to look away, almost as if time had slowed down for that moment.

The boy already knew that Sam was his new boss. He had found this out from his colleague because he had taken leave yesterday. He had been briefed indirectly about the new leadership, and his curiosity had been building up since then. The boy, looking at Sam, politely says, "Sir, may I come in?"

Sam, suddenly regaining his senses, but still in a firm tone, says, "Yes, come in. By the way, what's your name? And you weren't at yesterday's meeting."

The boy smiles, a small, reassuring smile that seemed to make the room a little lighter, and says, "My name is Matthew. I was on leave yesterday, so you didn't see me at the meeting. I apologize for being late."

Sam doesn't say anything to the boy and just says, "You can sit."

Everyone was thinking that Sam would scold Matthew, but they are all shocked when Sam doesn't say anything to him. The silence spoke volumes. Matthew quietly took a seat, maintaining eye contact with Sam, showing respect but not fear.

The meeting lasts a full hour. During the discussion, Matthew occasionally takes notes diligently, showing his attentiveness, and Sam, though focused on the agenda, finds himself sneaking glances at him from time to time. After it ends, everyone goes back to their own work, and Sam also returns to his office. Sam works all day, but occasionally keeps thinking about Matthew, remembering the way he carried himself and his polite demeanor, wondering about his skills, and whether there was more to him than met the eye.

It's 9:00 PM. As always, Mr. Pandey is checking all the rooms, ensuring everything in the office is in order. He notices that Sam is drinking again. The wine Sam is drinking costs $500,000. Today, Sam is completely intoxicated. He is awake but not fully conscious, his movements slightly sluggish, and his speech not as precise as usual.

Mr. Pandey approaches Sam and says, "Sir, why haven't you gone home, and why have you drunk so much?"

Sam, in a drunken state, says, "I was very tired, that's why." He tries to stand but wobbles slightly, almost losing his balance.

Mr. Pandey is thinking about how to get Sam home safely when Matthew enters the office. Seeing Matthew at this hour, Mr. Pandey asks, "Matthew sir, what are you doing here at this time?"

Matthew replies calmly, "I didn't come yesterday, so I was finishing my work. On my way in, I heard sounds from sir's office, so I came in."

Then Matthew looks at Sam and asks Mr. Pandey, "Has sir been drinking?"

Mr. Pandey nods, a worried expression on his face.

Matthew thinks to himself that Sam is quite young and even drinks. But he doesn't ask Mr. Pandey about this, choosing instead to observe quietly.

Looking at Mr. Pandey, Matthew says, "Why are you so worried?"

Mr. Pandey says, "He has drunk so much, and I have some urgent work at home. How do I get him home?" His voice is tinged with frustration and concern, unsure how to manage this delicate situation.

Matthew looks at Mr. Pandey and says, "It's simple. I'll drop sir at home. Please give me his address." His tone is confident and calm, as if he had done this many times before.

Mr. Pandey thanks Matthew and says, "Thank you, sir. I'll text you sir's address, and here are the keys to his car. You can drop sir home in his car."

Matthew agrees and takes Sam with him in his car and when they reach the parking lot when Matthew saw Sam's car he was shocked because sam owns Rose Noire Droptail - worth $30 million. Sam leans slightly against him, unable to support his own weight fully. Meanwhile, Mr. Pandey finishes checking all rooms, closes the company, and goes home. He had already texted Matthew Sam's home address.

Following the address, Matthew reaches Sam's house. Seeing the house, Matthew is amazed because it's very beautiful—modern architecture, well-lit exterior, and perfectly maintained gardens. Matthew supports Sam by the shoulders and stands outside the gate, ringing the doorbell. The sound echoes slightly in the quiet night.

When the bell rings, a servant named Prem, 46 years old, opens the door. Seeing Sam, Prem asks Matthew, "What happened to Sam sir?"

Matthew says, "Sir has drunk too much"

Matthew helps Sam inside. Sam's intoxication has slightly worn off, but he can't stand properly and can't even open his eyes fully. His steps are unsteady, and he occasionally sways slightly.

As Matthew enters, he sees Mr. Khanna sitting on the sofa, drinking. Mr. Khanna recognizes Matthew, as he has been working in the company for the last five years. His expression is sharp, a mix of curiosity and authority.

Mr. Khanna says, "Oh, Matthew, you're here? So this useless boy has been drinking." His words are laced with a mocking tone.

Confused, Matthew asks, "Mr. Khanna, what is Sam sir to you?"

Looking at Sam, Mr. Khanna says mockingly, "He is like a relative's son. Taking wrong decisions is his specialty, this useless one."

Matthew, shocked, asks Mr. Khanna, "Why are you calling him useless, sir? You gave him this company. If he wasn't capable, why would you give it to him?"

Mr. Pandey looks at Sam and says, "We have to prove that his decisions are never wrong. This useless boy knows nothing except taking wrong decisions."

Matthew asks, "Wrong decisions? What kind of wrong decisions?"

Mr. Khanna says, "You go, Matthew, leave him in his room, and just remember that every decision he takes is wrong and that he can destroy my company."

Then Mr. Khanna resumes drinking. Matthew doesn't ask anything more, but he doesn't understand why Mr. Khanna is saying all this about Sam, because Matthew thinks Sam is a capable young man.

Then Matthew asks Prem, "Uncle, where is Sam's room?"

Prem says, "It's the third room upstairs."

Matthew thinks Sam has fallen asleep, so he lifts Sam onto his own shoulder and takes him to the bedroom. Sam's head leans slightly on Matthew's chest as he moves up the stairs, and the soft carpet muffles their steps.

After laying Sam on the bed, Matthew is about to leave.

At that moment, Sam wakes up and says, "Don't you want to know who Mr. Khanna is and what he was saying about me?"

Matthew sees Sam and says, "You're not asleep." Then, paying attention to Sam's words, he says, "Yes, I want to know what Mr. Khanna was saying downstairs."

To be continued... What will happen next? What is Sam going to tell Matthew? What is going to unfold further in the story? To know all this, keep reading along with us in this story."
