{AURORA'S POV}
The walk back to The Den felt longer than it should have.
Leo hadn't said a single word since Theo left us under the moonlight. Not one. His silence stretched between us, growing heavier with every step we took. The air felt cold again, and even the dim street lanterns seemed reluctant to burn near him.
He walked ahead of me, shoulders tense beneath the fabric of his coat, his hand occasionally brushing the hilt of his sword like a restless habit. Every now and then, I opened my mouth to speak—to ask what was wrong—but the words never came.
I kept wondering why he wouldn't say anything. Is it because I'm leaving?
When we reached the brothel, Scarlett's girls were already turning in for the night. The faint perfume of roses and jasmine still lingered in the air, mingling with the sound of laughter fading down the hall. Leo led me through the dim corridor, his boots soundless on the carpet. He didn't glance back even once.
