Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: About Natsu Being Beaten Half to Death

The next morning, around ten o'clock, Statiw slowly sat up from his bed, yawning.

"Ah, it's morning." He yawned again, still sleepy, and shuffled lazily from his bed to the bathroom to wash up.

'Thump, thump, thump' Just as he came out of the bathroom, he heard a knock on his door. He walked over and opened it, only to find Mirajane walking in with a small pot: "You really are something, just getting up now."

"Ah~." Yawning, Statiw, still a bit sluggish, asked with a puzzled expression: "How did you know?"

"Do I even need to ask? You just yawned," she replied, placing the small pot on the table with a speechless look.

"Uh, haha." Reminded, he suddenly cleared his head, scratched his head, and chuckled twice. Then he saw the small pot on the table and asked: "What's this?"

"Yesterday's fish. There was some left, so I brought it over for you. Eat quickly." Saying this, she scooped out a bowl and handed it to him.

Taking the bowl she handed him, he casually asked: "Have you eaten?"

"Nonsense, what time is it now?" she rolled her eyes at him and scolded: "You're the only one in the guild who's so exaggerated. If no one calls you, you'll sleep until after ten every day."

Hearing her scolding, he chuckled twice and quickly shifted his attention to the fish soup in the bowl. She, meanwhile, sat beside him, propping her chin on her hand, quietly watching him eat slowly. It wasn't until past eleven that the two of them went to the guild together.

"Huh?" As soon as they entered the guild, he felt that the atmosphere was different from usual.

"What's wrong?" she, walking beside him, noticed his abnormality and asked with a puzzled expression.

"I don't know, I just feel like the guild is a bit different from usual," he replied, looking around the entire guild with a confused tone.

"Different?" she turned her head and looked around the guild, saying: "I don't see anything different from usual. Maybe you're overthinking it?"

"Perhaps." After looking around the entire guild, he also didn't find anything different from usual. Shaking it off, he walked along and asked her: "Mirajane, has Elfman gone on a mission again?"

"Yes, he has. What's wrong? Do you need him for something?" she replied.

"Nothing, I just wanted to find him to go on a mission together," he replied.

"Didn't you suggest to me that he should go on missions alone, and then, after his personality changed, he could take Lisanna with him?" her brows furrowed slightly at his words, and she crossed her arms, saying: "He's only just started taking her on missions."

"Is that so? That's a shame." He sensed the displeasure in her tone and looked at the others in the guild with a wry smile.

"What are you looking at?" Noticing his gaze turn towards the guild, her expression immediately began to darken.

"Just looking to see if there's anyone willing to go on a mission with me," he mumbled in reply, not seeing her expression.

As soon as he finished speaking, she punched him on the head, then grabbed his collar and pulled him in front of her, saying: "You bastard, am I not standing right in front of you? Can't you see me?"

"No, no. Please let me explain." Statiw, seeing her sudden outburst, immediately said from his heart: "It's just some small missions, there's no need to deploy someone like you."

"I don't care. No matter what mission you take, I'm coming with you. Understand?" she threw him to the ground and said grumpily.

"Yes, yes." he immediately nodded. Since she had already said so, what else could he say? Naturally, he took her to the mission board to choose a mission.

When the two arrived at the mission board, before they even started choosing a mission, Gray greeted them from the side: "Yo, morning."

"Morning what? It's already noon," she said, her gloomy expression still not gone.

"Uh, heh heh. Yeah." his body stiffened when he saw her expression, and he chuckled awkwardly.

"Hmph." she snorted coldly and turned her gaze to the mission board behind him.

At this moment, he pulled Statiw over and asked in a low voice: "What's going on? She was very happy this morning, wasn't she? Why is she angry now?"

"Uh, no. Nothing. It's already resolved," he replied, scratching his head.

"Is that so?" Although he didn't understand the reason, he didn't press further. Instead, he smiled at him and said: "Let me tell you, it was really funny when Natsu came over this morning with a bruised face."

"Yeah, and it's all thanks to you," he said, glancing at him.

"No, it's not just that." he put his arm around his neck, resting it on his shoulder, and said with a grin: "Do you know, that guy, for some reason, got a screw loose today. He ran to challenge Erza first thing in the morning, and ended up being beaten half to death by her. He's still lying behind the guild."

"Isn't that because of you? If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have been beaten half to death by her, would he?" he glanced at him again.

"How can you blame me? I didn't tell him to challenge that monster Erza, he decided it himself. Besides, I even advised him before he challenged her, but what could I do if he didn't listen?" Seeing him put this blame on him, he immediately denied it.

"How can you not blame me?" he looked left and right, then whispered to him: "Yesterday, you tricked Natsu into going to where she and I were fishing, and she caught him red-handed. Then she used the excuse of training him to defeat Erza and beat him up all afternoon. With his simple brain, after such rigorous training, it would be strange if he didn't go challenge her. So, isn't the cause still with you?"

"You can't say that. If we're talking about the cause of the matter, it should be you," he immediately argued after he finished speaking: "You were the one who mentioned that he had put her portrait on a tree as a target, and she just happened to overhear it, so if anyone's to blame, it's you."

"What are you talking about? When I said that, she wasn't angry. If you hadn't tricked him into going there, this wouldn't have happened," he said, shaking his head and completely denying it.

"What tricking? What I said at the time was the truth, you and her both went fishing by the lake, was that wrong?" Seeing him, he argued again.

"What's wrong? I heard you two calling my name? Is there something I shouldn't hear?" As the two were discussing, her slightly low voice suddenly came over.

They turned their heads and saw her gloomy expression. His face straightened, and he immediately explained: "No, you heard wrong, we were just discussing what mission you would choose, right?"

"Exactly." he chuckled nervously.

"Is that so?" she looked at the two with a suspicious expression, then held up the mission request in her hand directly in front of them, saying: "This is the mission I chose. Which of you guessed it?"
