Chapter Two

Alexander Pov

She was trouble, wrapped in silk and stubbornness . From the moment she walked into office, I know Liliana Williams wasn't going to make this easy. Not the job. Not even my peace of mind

Lost in thought he didn't knew he called his assistant for the past few minutes, she stood there looking at her boss.

"Sir, you called me"Trisha said

"Oh.. you're here already "he said

"Have been standing here for a very long time ". She replied

" How's everything going " he asked

She already knows what he was talking about

"Everything is under control sir". She replied calmly

He nodded and told her to leave.

The door of his office opened and she walked in and bowed

"You called for me ". Came out her small but melodic voice.

" When's my meeting with Mr Black". He asked trying hard not to sound ugly or mean

"By 2pm sir". She replied

He wanted her to stop acting like an angel, it gets him more annoyed but he was trying not to lose his cool.

"You may leave". He said "and knock before you enter next time". He stated

He didn't get any response but a door shut

She was barely out of the door when I let out a long breath I hadn't realized I was holding . There was something about Liliana the way she carries her self ,the way her sparked with fire. She was professional, yes. But behind the politeness I saw it the defiance . The challenge .

And damnit , I liked it more than I should

I turned my chair , facing the glass wall behind me. The city buzzed

But my thoughts was louder. This wasn't supposed to be complicated . She was just another employee . Another employee with heels and confidence.

So why did I find myself waiting to hear her voice ? Watching the clock? Wondering what she thought of me ?

A knock pulled me from my spiral

"Come in", I said , already knowing who it was

Liliana peeked in again holding a small notepad "Sir, your 2pm meeting has been moved.Mr. Black had an emergency ".

I nodded, keeping my voice even." Noted".

She paused almost as if expecting more.

But I said nothing

Because if I open my mouth now, I wasn't sure I'd be able to say only what I should.
