Chapter 3: Self Healing Magic
Despite limping, Jin Feng forced himself to leave the alley, buying the medicine before going home to take a bath, he was ashamed to appear in such a state and either way, he didn't plan on meeting the bullies today again. Thinking he'd rest a bit, Jin Feng planned to head back to the school venue by 2:00 PM. Suddenly, he recalled the events of that morning, and a deep sigh escaped his lips. He lay his tired body on a bamboo chair, his mind slowly drifting into darkness. It has always been hard for Jin Feng to hold grudges, something which always makes his mother shakes her head telling him it might land him in trouble if he keeps being this forgiving.
Subconsciously thinking of his mother, a faint smile tug on his lip as he drift into a light sleep.

Outside the walls of Sun City:
"Run, my lady!" shouted an older woman to the beautiful young lady beside her with a pale look on her face.
"Gwar! Gwar! Gwa gwa gwaaaa!!!" roared some bald, green-skinned creatures that were clearly not human. Looking at the young ebony girl before them, some of them salivated as they round try surrounding her.
"Hoho, goblins! How lucky am I to meet these guys here," the beautiful young lady said cheerfully.
"No, my lady! These monsters are rank C, and there are ten of them! Please run!" pleaded the older woman who was clearly having a panic attack.
"Oh? By the way, Ms. Zen, is it true that these guys love to kidnap pretty women like me?" the young lady asked, clearly unfazed by the situation.
"Y-yes, my Lady Sakura! Wait, why aren't you running?" Ms. Zen asked in a panic.
"Kukuku, relax, Ms. Zen," Sakura replied with a grin.
"Relax? No way! How in the world can I relax in this hopeless situation?!" Ms. Zen shouted. If not for the situation, she would have grabbed a handful of her hair and scream loudly out of frustration. The younger generation never size to piss her fragile heart.
"Kukuku," Sakura laughed.
"Don't 'kukuku' me! Your grandpa will definitely kill me if anything bad happens to you!" Ms. Zen ranted frantically.
"Sigh," Sakura muttered to herself, "What a noisy old woman."
"You_!"
"Gwaaarr!"
One of the goblins let out a cry as if tired of waiting, and the others followed, repeatedly raising their hands in the air, each clutching a different kind of rusty axe.
"Gobo! Gobo! Gobo! Gobo! Gobo! Gobo! Gobo! Gobo! Gobo!"
The goblins' red eyes glared fiercely at Sakura, their expressions menacing. As if trying to convey their words to her.
"Gwarrrr!"
The first goblin to shout began approaching slowly, followed one by one by the others, ready to attack Sakura and Ms. Zen. Ms. Zen's face paled as she watched the goblins draw closer. As one of the people who never developed Hollow Cell Symptoms, she had no magic and was just an ordinary person, making her fear for their situation overwhelming.
"Hoho, what greedy fellows," Sakura whispered with amusement on her face as if she was just watching a show from a third person.
As she watched the approaching goblins, Sakura calmly reached into her bag.
"Hey, Ms. Zen, do you know what this is?" Sakura asked, twirling an object she pulled from her bag around her finger.
"?! D-don't tell me it's… an External B-Backbone?!" Ms. Zen asked in shock. "H-how did…?" She wanted to continue but stopped, realizing their survival in this situation was more urgent.
"Kukuku, now, green guys, bring it on!" Sakura challenged the goblins.
At this time, External Backbones came in various forms: rings, wristbands, necklaces, collars, and sometimes custom-made weapons like swords, spears, or staves. The key was that they contained Metal Gram and a Magic Seal or Incantation Magic Spell. These were called Removable External Backbones, or RBs for short. Only magicians with at least a 30% (Level 3) breakthrough in their limiter could use an RB. For now, let's set aside the details of the different types of External Backbones. Sakura quickly placed the object from her bag around her neck—a collar-type RB with an Incantation Magic Spell.
"Resonance!" Sakura shouted.
After saying the word, her entire body and the collar around her neck glowed green for a few seconds. This was the sign of the resonance between the Metal Gram and Hollow Cell energies activating. Upon activation, her physical, mental, and magical abilities were enhanced. The effect would automatically fade if a magician ran out of mana or chose to stop the resonance.
"G-Green? You're Mid level?!" Ms. Zen whispered in shock.
The color of the energy emitted during resonance depended on the magician's level: Basic level was colorless/white, Mid level which are green, Advance level which are blue, Master level which are purple, and Grandmaster level which are gold.
"Gwarrrrrr!" The first goblin to approach swung its axe at Sakura with force. But…
"?" The goblin was stunned when it hit nothing but air. The force of its swing threw it off balance, causing it to tumble and roll on the ground three times.
"Gob?!" The other goblins stopped in their tracks, as the two women had vanished from their original position.
"Gwar! Gwar!" one goblin shouted, pointing upward.
"Gob!!!!!!!!!" the others roared angrily, their red eyes narrowing and mouths drooling as they glared at the two women.
"Platform? That's a rank A magic spell," Ms. Zen muttered in awe.
The two were standing on a transparent platform with a one-meter radius, a sort of spell that condensed the air midair for someone not capable of flying to stay midair.
"Kukuku, surprised?" Sakura asked Ms. Zen with a smug grin.
"Gwarrr!" The larger goblin barked orders to the smaller ones.
"Gobo!!!!!!!!!" they responded, quickly picking up scattered stones and hurling them at the women without hesitation.
"Kuku, these little fellas are a bit impulsive. Time to end their little lives."
Looking at the stones almost hitting them, Sakura frown a bit as she snorted, "enough fun. Let's end their lives and get going." Saying so, she infused her energy into her collar making it glow, once more as she summon a bow into her hand. The moment the bow appeared it was as if the surrounding temperature has dropped a few degrees making Ms. Zen shiver, ignoring her, Sakura pull the empty strings as she pointed the bow towards the goblins still hurling stones at her and mutter.
"Ice Pillar!"
*Boom!*
After Sakura uttered the spell's name, mana seems to rush and swirl around the strings, quickly condensing into a ice like bow emitting chilling air around it, not wasting time she released the ice arrow-shaped energy, which rushed into the crowd of goblins, and what followed next was a massive explosioncompletely destroying all goblins in the surrounding by instantly freezing them to the point their bodies crack and shattered into lumps of ices.

"broda! broda, wake up!"
Jin Feng heard a familiar voice. He slowly opened his eyes.
"broda, wake up!"
"Huh? What's wrong, Anya?" Jin Feng asked, clearly confused.
"Magic!"
"Magic?"
"What kind of magic do you have, broda?!" Anya, his younger sister, asked excitedly with her clear dark eyes staring at him expectantly.
Jin Feng remembered the events of that morning. He stretched his body and slowly got up. He ruffled his sister's hair and asked quickly, "Anya, what time is it?"
"Huh? broda, I asked what magic you have!" Anya pouted.
"Haha, nothing yet. Something happened earlier, so I came home first," Jin Feng explained, glancing at the clock on the wall.
"Damn! 2:10 PM?!" he shouted in his mind, clearly flustered.
"Anya, I'll tell you later. I have to go now, or I'll be late for the exam!" Jin Feng said hurriedly.
"Okay, broda, good luck!" Anya cheered brightly.
