This story began as a way to reach the parts of Tomoe's past the anime and manga only hinted at—those clipped, unfinished moments that left my heart aching. I wanted to explore the weight he carried, the scars he bore, and the shadows that shaped him into the fox we met.
Here, you'll see him broken, vulnerable, and sometimes unbearably human. You'll glimpse fragments of forgotten connections, untold memories, and secrets that were never fully revealed. Some of these moments are faithful to the original, while others take the liberty of imagining what might have been—because sometimes the gaps speak louder than the story itself.
This fanfic is my attempt to make those fragments whole, to show the depth and beauty of a character who has haunted me for years. I hope it touches you, surprises you, and makes you see Tomoe—and maybe even love him—just a little differently.
