Chapter 5 - Meeting Mr Wang

[Host, you shouldn't get ahead of yourself! Right now, you need to understand the danger of changing those destinies.]

When Ken heard that, he recovered his expression and nodded.

'You are right, system. I can't make a mistake.'

'Rigid Mountain Hall is cursed. Red Tiger Forest Area is dangerous. Fortunately, I have information on Blue Foundation Array.'

'Once I reach the Blood Tempering Stage, I can check that area. For now, the best place to explore is Apple Mountain.'

'By the way, System, I have one question. You said I can earn Destiny Eggs by changing others' destinies, right? Does it work for me as well?'

[No, Host! If that were the case, you would've earned several Destiny Eggs by now.]

'I guess I can't complain.'

Ken thought to himself and turned towards the window. At this moment, the sun rays had entered the room, which meant it was a new day.

He had finished awakening his Dragon Blood Battle.

Since his Ancient Dragon Transformation Technique no longer worked, he would need to get another technique.

Fortunately, he already had one, or rather, he had quite a few. As a Sect Leader, he did get to read a lot of techniques from the library.

Unfortunately, if he practiced those, the elders would immediately find out.

After all, every core technique was related to the Dragon Technique.

'Thinking about it, I do have quite a connection with Dragons. Ancient Dragon Transformation Technique, Dragon Blood Body, Golden Dragon Sect.'

'Tch! I am surrounded by dragon names. I need to practice something else. A technique that I found in one of my adventures.'

'It is only Five Star, but it should work for now.'

He thought to himself as he tried to memorize the content of that technique.

Bang! Bang!

Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door.

This confused him. Normally, people would try to ignore him. So, he didn't have any friends in the sect.

So, nobody should come here to knock on his door, right?

He thought to himself before walking up to his door. He opened it and was quite surprised when he saw a tall old man with a white beard reaching his chest.

He had a bald head and wore a dark purple robe.

"Hello, youngster!"

The old man tried to keep a friendly smile as he spoke.

Ken gave him a scrutinizing gaze. He recognized this person.

This was his mother in disguise.

She actually came this morning.

Either it was due to his memories or due to the completion of the Ancient Dragon Transformation Technique.

"Hello, Mr. Wang!"

This was how his mother introduced herself. He recognized the surname. It belonged to his father, his new real father.

'Damn! That felt weird.'

Ken thought to himself when he tried to describe his father.

"Hahaha! I sensed your breakthrough in the Ancient Dragon Transformation Technique. So, I came to give you this gift."

"By the way, did something happen when you completed that technique? Like strange memories appearing in your mind?"

When he said that, Ken instantly caught the fake laugh on his face.

Instead of exposing him, he decided to play with him.

"How did you know Mr. Wang?"

Suddenly, he clenched his fists and hoarsely replied.

"I learned about my parents. I mean, real parents. I don't understand why my mother sealed my memories."

Mr. Wang's voice trembled as he spoke.

"Ahem! That wasn't what I expected. I thought you would remember the ancient heritage of the Dragon Clan."

"Still though! I never thought you had such a history. No wonder you had Broken Dragon Blood Body."

"Now that you know about them, do you hate your mother?"

Ken slowly loosened his fist.

'How can I hate her? Until yesterday, I didn't even know about her. Besides, I think she is mostly like an intelligent mother.'

'I mean, those stories from Grant memories showed just how many MCs' mother gets imprisoned for having children with outsiders.'

'Because they end up revealing everything to the clan. At least, even if you have a child outside, you could just hide the information, can't you?'

'You are supposed to be a strong cultivator. Why do you need to reveal your relationship with an outsider when you know your family or clan won't accept it?'

He shook his head.

"No, I don't hate her. My father used to tell me stories of her clan's mighty power. When I was a kid, I didn't understand it clearly."

"But now I can understand her motivation. Even so, I am not happy that she never came to meet me."

"But then again, I almost died forty times while practicing this technique. Mr. Wang, you said you will not appear here within two years."

"So, I guess she was there to help me. And after I lost my adoptive, I never faced problems like money or security."

"I never understood it before, but now, I know she is secretly protecting me. And that makes me happy. I just don't know how I am supposed to meet her."

At this moment, Mr. Wang had tears in his eyes.

"Huh? Mr. Wang, why are you crying?"

Ken looked stunned as he asked.

Mr. Wang wiped away his tears and said.

"Nothing, I got sand in my eyes. But I was also just surprised by your story. Yes, indeed, you have a hidden bloodline. From what I can tell, that bloodline is quite strong."

"Fortunately, it is unawakened, so they wouldn't be able to sense it. So, from this alone, I feel like they are at least a hundred times stronger than your Sect."

When he said that, Ken's eyes widened.

Although he knew they would be strong, he didn't know the gap was this big. His mouth opened wide as he asked.

"You are kidding me?"

"I am not. That's what I can feel just from your bloodline. I believe they are even stronger than my assumption."

"Well, I am not here to talk to you about your family issues. Since I gave you that technique and did nothing, I feel like a half-assed teacher to you."

"So, I am compensating you with this technique. It is a cultivation technique, and don't worry, your Sect won't find anything about it."

Mr Wang spoke as he threw a scroll towards him.

Although he tried to act nonchalant, he couldn't hide a smile from Ken.

Ken knew his mother was happy that he didn't hate her. And, seriously, how could he even think of hating her?

If he were just a normal person in this world, he might have a small hate for her. After all, she did seal his memories and abandoned him to a certain extent.

But he had memories of Grant. He knew just how absent mothers could be from a protagonist's life.

Maybe it was due to those memories and system, Ken instinctively believed himself to be a protagonist.

Although it was based on the memories and cheats that belonged to someone else.

So, for Ken, his mother was exceptional. Not only did she take care of him every time he couldn't take care of himself, but she also kept him safe.

If she had revealed her relationship, maybe she wouldn't be able to do all of this.

But most importantly, he just received those memories. In his mind, this person became his mother just a day ago.

He couldn't bring himself to feel any kind of big emotions towards her.

"Thank you, Mr. Wang!"

Ken hurriedly took the scroll and thanked him.

"It's okay. As I said before, I didn't get to teach you anything. By the way, we might never meet again."

Mr. Wang said as he waved his hand and turned around.

"What? You are not coming back again? But why?" Ken asked with overwhelming sadness on his face.

"It's our fate, Ken. You needed help, so I helped you. Besides, you look a lot like my son."

Mr. Wang was talking while looking away. If Ken could see his face, he would be surprised by just how red his face was.

"Thank you, Mr Wang! Can I call you teacher for one last time?" Ken asked with a hoarse voice.

"No, I helped you for a reason I already told you. But I am curious about something."

"Since the seal on your memory has broken, your mother will definitely try to find you."

"So, what will you do with her?"

When he said that, he clenched his fist and closed his eyes, hoping for the best answer.

"I won't lie to you, Mr Wang. I don't think I will be able to see her as a mother. Though if she explains everything properly, I will not hate her."

Ken replied.

Despite their blood relationship, he couldn't bring himself to see this woman as a mother.

If she were his hidden mother, maybe he would feel something. But he clearly knew how she became his mother.

It was a choice and a manipulation of reality.

"Is that so? As long as you don't hate her!"

As he said that, Mr Wang disappeared in front of him.
