Chapter 10 - Weaving Another's Destiny Part 3

"Hahahah!"

Makim suddenly burst into laughter.

"I see. I see now. You came here with this purpose. You are just like me. It's not that you don't want to use your background. You don't have one."

"You must have been abandoned by the Shen Clan for your low talent. But deep down, you are not willing to accept it all."

"So, you tried finding ways to improve your strength. Stumbled against your origin, did you not? I bet you even hide this information from the Shen Clan."

"Hahaha! Ken, join hands with me! I only need resources. Just give me the resources of that ring, and I will let you live."

At this moment, Makim was covered with purple Qi that looked menacing and powerful.

Hearing his words, Ken was stunned.

'This guy… He has quite an imagination. Could it be he was an author in his previous life?'

'But somehow, this whole situation reminds me of something. Ancestor said he was injured by the Nether Race.'

'When my previous battle with Heavenly Puppet Sect started, I knew someone from the sect was a traitor.'

'I didn't consider those who ran away traitors since everyone would do anything to preserve their life. But Makim was one of them.'

'Ancestor was so serious about the Nether Clan that he singlehandedly tried to stop them from reemerging and failed.'

'So, the Nether Race must have some kind of conspiracy against this continent or even the world, but since I was just a weakling, I didn't know anything about it.'

'Of course, I am still a weakling, but now, I am a weakling with Reality Manipulating System. Now it makes sense. He stumbled against the Nether Race.'

'They must still be trying to find the clues about the ancestor, trying to stop the news about their race from spreading. So, they used Makim.'

'So, it wasn't that Makim didn't improve after getting the ancestor's ring. It seems like he was biding his time, waiting for the Nether's Race comeback.'

Ken paused for a moment.

'But this is just a theory. So, let's test this theory!'

An evil smirk appeared on his face as he spoke.

"Tell me, Makim! What did Nether Clan give you that you are willing to betray humanity for them?"

When he said that, Makim's expression changed drastically. So much so that he confirmed his connection with them in his next words.

"How do you know about them?"

"I was just guessing." Ken chuckled.

Makim's face dropped as Ken continued.

"After all, I just read his letter. He was injured by the Nether Race and left behind his inheritance here. But what's surprising is that his lineage didn't find it."

"Instead, the one searching for it had been you all along. You clearly don't have that kind of background. So, it could only be one thing."

Ken suddenly dropped his smiley face as he stared at Makim with anger.

"I didn't expect you would stoop so low to betray your race, Makim. Betraying the sect for another sect, I can agree."

"Betraying the sect for an Evil Sect, you are not the only one. But betraying us for another race, a race that can threaten the continent."

"You have crossed the line, Makim! I will kill you here."

"Hahahaha!"

Unfazed by his declaration, Makim no longer held resentment against Ken for tricking him. Instead, he burst into laughter.

"You don't understand, Ken. I am no longer weaker. This power! It's intoxicating. I will show you why I joined them."

Suddenly, he disappeared, leaving behind an afterimage as he appeared just above Ken's head.

But what he didn't know was Ken's preparation. While he was extracting that purple Qi, Ken was also preparing his attack.

The moment Makim made a foolish move like that, he opened his mouth, and a horrifying scream came from his mouth.

[Dragon Roar]

Makim was left stunned in mid-air. His body was unable to move. His Qi was flaring so hard that it was hurting his body.

But that wasn't the end.

[Dragon Scale]

Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!

Several red scales the size of his palm emerged on his right arm. He specifically controlled the appearance of Dragon Scales.

[Rock Shattering Fist]

Ken poured a small portion of Qi into his fist. Although he had Fire Affinity, he did comprehend Earth Element in his previous life.

This comprehension turned his Qi brown, as it gained a new power. While Makim was still unable to move, he punched straight at his chest.

Bang! Crack!

The bones on his chest began breaking.

"Gah!"

Makim finally was able to move his body, but the first thing he did was cough out blood.

The purple Qi on his body tried healing his wounds, but he was sent flying towards the ceiling.

Bang!

He collided so hard that it caused a large chunk of the ceiling to fall above him.

Thud! Thud!

Before Makim could properly heal himself, the rocks covered him in more wounds.

But that wasn't the end. After all, his purple Qi was still there. It was still going strong.

When Ken saw this, his eyes narrowed, but his movement didn't stop. Even without this Qi, he would do what he was about to do.

He left behind a trail as he approached Makim and raised his palm.

[Dragon Flame]

It was a bright red flame.

His Qi was almost exhausted by this time.

If he hadn't improved his cultivation recently, he wouldn't have been supporting these abilities and martial arts.

He placed his palm on top of the rocks, and the red flame spread out. When the red flame reached the purple energy, Ken sternly watched.

Until the red flame finally burned the purple energy, Ken showed a smile.

"Ahhhh!"

On the other hand, Makim died a horrible death, screaming and being burned alive.

Of course, Ken didn't feel bad about this. He didn't even try to take anything from Makim, in case they had kept another contingency plan on him.

After the rocks and Makim's body melted, Ken received a notification from the system.

[Congratulations, Host! You have made a major change.]

[You receive Five Destiny Eggs]

"Wait, only five? This is a conspiracy against the whole continent." Ken paused for a moment and immediately shouted.

[Host, please do not use your low-level method to gain more benefits from the system. DWS has been fair and will always be fair.]

[But Host, how does it feel to be involved with your first major Karma?]

"Weird!"

Ken replied in one word.

He looked at the charred ground and said.

"One moment, I was dying at the hands of Heavenly Puppet Sect Branch Sect Leader, and the next moment, I am figuring out the conspiracy of the Nether Race."

"And, somehow, this is related to my past life. Can you imagine how shocked I am right now?"

[No, Host! System can't.]

"I wasn't expecting it. It was just a metaphor."

Ken speechlessly replied and shook his head.

"Anyway, I am tired of this battle. Man, I awakened Dragon Blood Body, but I can only fight someone one stage above me."

"I thought I could at least fight those a whole realm above me."

[Host, what did you expect? Did you forget the famous saying, 'Each realm is a chasm that most people can't cross in their entire life?']

Ken suddenly felt bad and replied.

"System, I feel like you are using that line to describe me, but I have no evidence."

[Host, remove the word 'feel like'. I am using this line to describe you.]

Ken rolled his eyes and checked the ground one more time. After confirming that Makim was burned to ashes, he nodded his head and left.

When he came out of the cave, he didn't see anyone. It was good because he wasn't sure if someone was standing out or not until he walked out.

'System, I am a leader and teacher. I can teach others and even do my best to become an overlord. But how am I supposed to be a dual cultivator?'

'Seriously, system, I was a virgin as Ken Grant for sixteen years. And, I was a virgin as Ken Tenshi for two hundred years.'

'I might not even be able to talk to a girl properly.'

[But Host, you did talk to a girl properly. She has even mastered Fire Punch.]

'What the hell? How can she master that move so quickly?'

Ken was stunned.

[It is the effect of Enlightening Words, one of your gifts from the Teaching profession. She entered an enlightened state long enough to master this martial art.]

When Ken heard the system's reply, he slowly remembered those gifts.

Yeah, just like how he received the professions, he also received the gifts. But because he didn't check them before, he didn't know what they would do.

'System, I should probably check my character panel and these gifts? Can you open a separate panel for them?'

[Yes, Host]
