I wake up early in my room at the penthouse.
I didn't plan to come back last night. But I couldn't stay away. Something pulled me back here.
I showered and changed in the guest room. I didn't go to the master bedroom. I didn't go see Rio. I just... came back.
Now it's morning and I need to go to work.
As I'm walking down the hallway to leave, I see her.
Jennie is coming out of Rio's room. She's carrying a basin of water and a towel.
Her hair is down. She looks like she's been caring for Rio all night.
We lock eyes in the hallway.
For a moment, neither of us speaks.
Then Jennie smiles. A knowing smile.
"Lina," she says, like she's surprised to see me. "You're here."
"Yes," I say coldly. "I'm here."
"Did you sleep well?" she asks, but her tone says she already knows the answer. She knows I slept in the guest room. She knows I didn't go to Rio.
