Bang! Bang! Bang!
Singer's tentacles whipped wildly, slamming against the walls of the laboratory with sharp cracking sounds.
As a businessman, Singer was undoubtedly extremely successful. After all, losing two arms but gaining so many tentacles, no matter how you looked at it, this deal was a bargain.
Even though Singer himself didn't seem particularly pleased with the transaction.
"Looks like the mission can't be completed after all." Seeing the mutation taking place on Singer's body, Ur immediately realized that his mission had gone wrong once again.
Singer looked down at Ur from above, his eyes filled with the pleasure of revenge. "What's wrong? Why aren't you attacking? Didn't you say I was weak? So who's weak now? Hahaha!" Singer laughed wildly, the red light in his eyes growing brighter as the evil aura radiating from his body intensified.
"It's time to end this, you damn bastard. Die!" Singer's laughter abruptly stopped. Countless tentacles shot toward Ur like arrows.
Ur's expression was icy calm.
Facing the rain-like barrage of tentacle tips, his gaze did not waver in the slightest. Only a faint killing intent slowly spread from the depths of his eyes.
Boom!
Violent magic power surged out from his body, instantly forming a shockwave that swept in all directions. With the amplification of magic power, Ur moved. In an instant, his body seemed to turn into a blur. As the tentacles closed in, the sword in his hand slashed out.
Sword Technique, Afterglow!
Countless blade flashes wove together into an impenetrable net of light. Any tentacle that touched it was instantly shredded, reduced to fragments that rained to the floor. When the last tentacle vanished, the net dissolved into scattered afterglow and disappeared.
This was a sword technique Ur had created himself.
Ur's sudden burst of power caused Singer's expression to change drastically. He had thought that after merging with the demon jellyfish, the immense power he gained would be more than enough to crush this hateful brat. But he never imagined that this bastard's strength would be so terrifying.
Fear flooded Singer's eyes as he tried to retreat, but it was already too late. After severing countless tentacles, Ur appeared before him in an instant, so fast it almost felt like teleportation.
"You know nothing about power." Ur murmured.
The long blade in his hand came down, and with a flash of steel, Singer's body was split cleanly in two.
But Ur immediately sensed something was wrong. There was no blood. Moreover, as time passed, the body slowly began to fade away before Ur's eyes.
"Oh, you dodged?" Ur slowly turned around. Behind him, Singer's battered body gradually materialized.
"Huff… huff… damn it!" Singer gasped for breath, sweat pouring down his forehead, terror and lingering fear overflowing from his eyes.
Just a little more, and Ur would have sliced him in half.
"How can this bastard be this strong?"
Singer could hardly believe it. The power he'd gained from fusing with the demon jellyfish was unlike anything he had ever experienced, yet the moment they clashed, reality smashed him with a bucket of ice water.
"Is this your ability? Illusions?" Ur asked Singer with clear interest.
"Illusion? Ridiculous. How could the power of the dark wizard Lord Zeref be something so low-level—"
Slash!
Hearing Ur's question, Singer's expression instantly turned fanatical. He was more than happy to explain, hoping to buy time to regenerate his tentacles. But what he didn't expect was that he had barely finished half a sentence when Ur suddenly charged in and slashed him again.
Slash!
As expected, Singer's body was cut apart once more—but it quickly turned illusory and vanished, reforming farther away from Ur.
Singer: [(╯‵□′)╯︵┴─┴]
"You bastard! You despicable, shameless sneak attacker!" Singer shouted furiously, breaking into curses the moment he reappeared. "I curse you #¥@…!"
Ur's sudden strike had once again scared Singer into a cold sweat. The moment he reappeared, he started cursing at Ur at the top of his lungs.
Honestly, Singer had always thought himself sufficiently devious as a businessman.
But he never imagined that this young man would be even more despicable than he was. He felt that Ur's heart was pitch black. Compared to Ur, Singer was starting to wonder who the real villain actually was.
"What a pity."
Seeing Singer evade his sneak attack, Ur felt a bit surprised but also found it perfectly reasonable.
Illusion-type magic was inherently among the most troublesome kinds of magic. Ur's sneak attack had only been a test. Unfortunately, his speed still wasn't fast enough. Illusion magic operated on the mental level and activated in a single thought. Unless Ur's speed could surpass Singer's very thoughts, killing him directly would be extremely difficult.
After realizing he couldn't kill Singer for now, Ur stopped pressing the attack.
"What about this? Is this regenerative ability also something the demon jellyfish gave you?"
"Shut up!"
Ur was about to continue probing for information when Singer suddenly roared angrily.
"You shameless, despicable bastard! Just you wait, I'll come back and get my revenge!" As if worried that Ur would exploit the conversation to launch another sneak attack, Singer abruptly cut him off.
Without giving Ur the slightest chance to react, his entire body quickly turned into a shadow. In the blink of an eye, he vanished from the laboratory.
Ur: "…"
