Rudra turned his face away in frustration. He never thought his mother would be able to find someone to bear his child. He can only think of Saumya to be his partner and not anyone else. But she is not replying to his text or email. He had asked her to come for a dinner outing, but she didn't reply to him.
Pratibha smiled and left his cabin. When she reached the restaurant where the most suitable girl was already waiting for her. It is none other than Saumya. She is the most efficient girl among the Twelve Hundred employees of Singh & Singh Group of Companies.
Pratibha went inside the private room of the restaurant where she had asked Saumya to be present.
Saumya had already been waiting in the cabin for Pratibha to arrive. She stood up from the chair when Pratibha entered the room. Pratibha has her own identity in the company, and every staff member respects her a lot.
Pratibha asks her to sit, "Please sit, dear."
She had already seen her profile picture, but when she saw her in front of her, it completely surprised her. Saumya looks completely strange to Pratibha. Saumya's face and body structure don't match at all. Her nerdy-looking face with multiple pimples and freckle marks, wearing black, round, thick eyeglasses, covering the upper half of her face, making her look ugly. It was unusual for Pratibha, as in today's generation, girls tend to work on their outlook more than their talents, while Saumya seemed to be completely different from other girls. She liked her a lot.
Saumya tries to break the ice, "Hello, Madam, you wished to see me."
Pratibha: Yes, dear, please be seated.
Saumya waited till Pratibha sat on the chair.
Pratibha: Let me get to the point.
Saumya: Sure, Madam.
Pratibha: Are you maritally engaged with anyone?
Saumya smiled and replied, "Not yet, Madam, and don't want to do it now."
Pratibha: What if I give my son's marriage proposal to you?
Saumya continued to smile and replied, "Still, my answer will be the same."
Pratibha hands over the papers she carried with her, "First, sign this document before I tell you the reason for our meeting."
Saumya felt it was strange at first, but still took the paper and read it carefully. The paper was an agreement to CONFIDENTIALITY. On breaking this agreement, she will be severely punished by the Law and face a prolonged legal process, along with a huge fine to be paid. Saumya happily signed the paper, which made Pratibha feel assured by her. She takes the paper back from Saumya before she starts speaking.
Pratibha: So I am here with two proposals. It is up to you which one you choose or not choose anyone. You are free to say no to both but one condition: you can't leak this matter to anyone nor you have to face legal suit as mentioned in this agreement and you have already signed it.
Saumya agreed to her conditions. "So what is so much confidentiality?"
Pratibha, "One was the marriage proposal, which you have rejected. Second, can you carry my son's baby in your womb? It will be done in a scientific way. We will pay you THIRTY Lakhs for this. After the birth of a healthy baby, another amount will be given."
Pratibha was feeling embarrassed while saying this kind of deal with another girl. But she has already had her back on the wall. But to her surprise Saumya spoke, "Yes I am ready with the second option."
Pratibha watches her dumbstruck. "How can she accept such a proposal at once? Is she in so much need of money?" She got back in her senses on getting called by Saumya.
Saumya: I had my period ten days ago, so we can go with the process within next week. What do you say?
Pratibha: Yes yes.
She felt at sea in the present situation, however she came back to her senses after a while. "Okay I will send you our doctor's details and address. I am fixing an appointment with him. He will do some preliminary tests before going with this process."
Saumya smiles and leaves the cabin before her. Pratibha stood there for a while before leaving for her home. On reaching she sat on the couch beside her husband who was reading a book while her daughter was playing a game on her mobile.
Niki: What happened Mom? Why are you looking so lost?
Pratibha glanced at her husband once and then to her daughter, "I met Saumya today."
Her husband was busy reading a book until he heard the familiar name, "Isn't she?"
Pratibha: Yes, her.
Niki interrupts them, "Who is she?"
Sikander: On whom your brother has a crush.
Niki smirks, "What 40 year old man had a crush?"
On saying this she breaks into a loud laughter. But she stops getting scolded by her elder brother.
Rudra: Why are you making loud noises?
Niki sits still on the couch, when Rudra's assistant comes near her and takes her out of the house. His assistant already knew that Rudra was getting impatient on what his mother had done with his future. He couldn't work the whole day in the office after Pratibha left the office.
Pratibha: Hi son. You came so early today. Sit here.
Rudra sat beside his mother but didn't say anything. Pratibha was already in shock and confused on how to tell them about Saumya's decision. She somehow had to summon the courage to tell whatever happened in front of Rudra, "Son you have to go to the clinic this week to give your thing."
Rudra was hearing what his mother said in a sinking feeling that he couldn't meet Saumya nor did she accept to meet him even after offering her to have a meal with him. What is the reason?
Rudra didn't waste much time and went to the clinic the next day to start with the proceeding. He didn't even bother himself to know who the girl with whom his mother had chosen for carrying his child.
Time passed by and Pratibha was excitedly waiting to hear good news from Saumya. She was getting impatient day by day and didn't know how to calm herself down. Sikhander came up with the idea of going for pilgrimage to Haridwar, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham.
Pratibha had to agree with her husband. Only their daughter was going to be left out. So she also joined them. They decided to go there for TWO to THREE months. Rudra was left alone in the house with his broken heart. At the end of the waiting period, Saumya was to report to the doctor about her pregnancy progress. Pratibha had contacted her to get the update, where she was grief stricken to know that the process had failed. Saumya wanted to meet Pratibha once. She wanted to return the bank card and cheque but didn't tell her about that. Pratibha was sad and didn't want to return back soon. Prabitha had called Rudra to give an update on this.
"Son, the process has failed."
Rudra was confused about whether he was happy with the process. Now that process has failed, he took it as God's sign and didn't feel disappointed.
"It is okay. Ma. You don't have to think about this anymore. And don't even talk to me about this in the future."
Pratibha was very sad and disappointed with the result. But now she has no chance to tell Rudra to do the same thing again.
