Rudra hangs up the call. He was lost in deep thought. He leaned back in his office chair, watching outside the glass window. He felt some relief as if God was showing him the way towards Saumya. His mind was wandering as he remembered Saumya. He had never seen her before, yet he felt some kind of strong connection between them. His mind was busy thinking about her when he heard a gentle knock at his cabin door. He asked to come inside. It is his assistant interrupted his deep thoughts, "Sir."
Rudra turned his chair towards him to see what he had come for.
"Sir, our Senior developer wants to meet you."
Rudra was stunned to know. "Who?"
Assistant: Sir, Miss Saumya is standing outside your cabin.
Rudra sighs at him to let her come inside.
The assistant went outside the room to let her come in while he stayed outside.
Rudra felt excited. He took it as a God's sign to make Saumya his future. This is going to be the first time he will see Saumya. He thought she was coming to accept his proposal to have dinner with him. He was getting impatient to see her for the first time, and he turned his chair facing towards the wall, trying to calm himself down. His heart skipped a beat on hearing her voice again.
"Sir," Saumya called out.
Rudra turned his chair immediately on hearing her voice. He was dumbstruck to see Saumya. It was his first time. She has an unusual look. Her fair skin tone with a sharp facial cut. She wore large, black, thick spectacles which covered the upper part of her face. Rudra could not understand how to express himself as her looks were not up to his expectations.
Rudra bites his lower lip before trying to break the silence in the room. "Yes."
Saumya walks into the room and stands in front of the table. "Sir, I want to give this to you," saying that she said, keeping it on the table. Rudra bends down to pick it up. It was an envelope; he took it from the table to check. There is a letter. He was shocked to read the subject of the letter, "What? Why do you want to resign?"
She came to hand over her resignation letter to him.
Rudra: What is this?
He immediately tore it apart. Saumya was flabbergasted to see it. Her mouth opened on seeing this kind of childish behaviour from her boss. She couldn't control herself any longer and spoke out, "Why did you do this?" She gave him a fierce look. Rudra couldn't control his grudges and left his chair to come close to her. He stood in front of her so closely that he could smell her perfume. He was standing close to her but couldn't speak a word. There were hundreds of questions running inside his head, so many complaints he had for her. He wants to complain to her for not waiting for him at Coimbatore, and he wants to ask her why she didn't show up for dinner with him. He wants to ask her now why she came up with this resignation letter.
Saumya couldn't wait any longer and asked, "Why did you tear it, sir?"
Rudra tried to avoid answering and started questioning, "Why do you want to resign?"
Saumya: Nothing, sir. I just want to take a long break and go on vacation.
Rudra: I think you haven't taken any holiday in your three years of job tenure. Why don't I give you that while you get paid!
Saumya: No need for that, sir. I have already saved enough to quit the job.
Rudra: Not possible.
Saumya: Why not?
Rudra: Why should I lose my most efficient employee?
Saumya: But there are a lot more efficient employees available in your company. Why me?
Rudra: I am not liable to answer you. So now tell me what your plan is for dinner tonight?
Saumya takes a deep breath before taking out the bank card and a cheque from her pocket and puts them on the table. Rudra kept staring at her; he was confused on seeing her doing that. "What is this?"
He picks up the cheque where there is a Thirty Lakhs rupees cheque signed by his mother. He couldn't even imagine this. He hesitated at first, then turned in her direction before speaking, "What is this? You were."
Saumya: Sir, I think Madam has already told you that the process has failed. So I want to return this money.
Rudra was dumbfounded in this awkward situation. The girl with whom he wanted to date has refused him on his face, and now he gets to know that the same girl agreed to conceive his baby. He couldn't control himself any longer and came close to her and held her shoulder to bring her close to him. Both of them kept staring at each other until he spoke, "Why did you agree to such a proposal?"
Saumya and Rudra were standing so close to each other that she could see little things on his face. She started observing them. He was staring at her, making his furrowed brows, which are thick yet well curved, his unbiased eyes felt like getting pierced inside her heart. She had never seen anyone looking at her with so much affection, yet full of grievances in the eyes, and without being distorted by her looks. Rudra is the first one to complain to her for not meeting him, rather he should be retreating himself.
Rudra shook her by her shoulder again as she kept silent, "Answer me."
This time, Saumya couldn't help but smile. She noticed a small mole on his neck. Saumya was lost in her absurd thoughts, "What is this black mole on his neck? I feel like kissing it. He is aged, but still he is so handsome. Why doesn't he hate me even after making me look so ugly? What is wrong with him?" The more she tried to loosen herself from his grip, the harder he held her.
Rudra: What are you trying to do? Now you want to escape. You can't.
Saumya breaks her silence, seeing him going out of control, "Nothing like that, sir. You are just hurting me. That is why I am removing your hands from my shoulder.
Rudra realises and loosens his hand, but doesn't remove it. "I am sorry for hurting you. First, sit here and tell me everything." He pulled her towards the sofa to make her comfortable with him.
Saumya was really confused about how calm her boss could be. Why did her boss give a proposal of having dinner in the first place, then his mother came up with carrying his child? She made herself look awful to avoid any kind of admiration from males. She wanted to work on her career and become successful in her life. She wanted to build her own identity. But now he is stuck in his cabin. 'I shouldn't have come here. I should have handed over my resignation to the HR department, but now that I have the highest post where I have to report directly to the CEO. I am trapped now. I should have waited for his mother to return. What to do now?'
Rudra: Why didn't you accept having dinner with me?
Saumya was shocked to hear this. Why would such a handsome, successful man want to have dinner with her? And when she had refused, why is he holding so many grudges? Has it hurt his ego?
Saumya: I don't like to go anywhere, sir.
Rudra couldn't stop himself from staring at her. While Saumya couldn't understand why Rudra was so upset with her. She liked him as her boss but never thought more than that. She can like him, but why would Rudra like her or even have any kind of feelings for a simple employee like her?
Saumya: Sir, I am very confused about what you want to say.
This time, she asked him directly what was going on in his mind.
Rudra felt shy about getting asked such a question. He smiled, making her feel disturbed. "Are you making fun of my ugly looks?"
Rudra was startled on hearing this, "What do you mean by that? I never felt like that. This is the first time I am seeing you. While I asked for you twice before, you ignored me."
Saumya was surprised to hear that, "I only refused to go to dinner. Then again, when?"
Rudra: In Coimbatore.
Saumya: What is with that?
Rudra: I went all the way there to meet you, but you returned to the city without even informing us.
Saumya: I mean, I was not supposed to be there. It is your company; you should handle everything.
Rudra: I am not saying that.
Saumya seems disturbed to be in this situation. "Sir, I should be going now." She stood up, saying this.
But Rudra couldn't let her go like this. He held her hand to stop, "Please call me by my name."
Saumya: I don't think it will be appropriate, sir.
Rudra: Will you now answer me why you agree to carry my baby but not marry me?
Saumya: You wanted to marry whoever wanted to carry your baby?
Rudra didn't hesitate to reply, "It was my moral duty to give some respect to a woman who wanted to carry my baby. But I wouldn't have to do it if you had accepted me in the first place."
Saumya: It is useless now. You are not having a baby now.
Rudra: I don't care, I still want to be with you.
Saumya: No, I don't want to.
Rudra: But why did you agree to carry my baby?
Saumya: Actually, my doctor said I will have problems conceiving later, so I wanted to carry it anyhow.
Rudra: But you could have married me?
Saumya smiles this time, "Are you making fun of me?"
Rudra: Why do you think like that?
Saumya snorts, "I mean, just look at me, I look so ugly, and you are the top richest CEO in India. Why would you choose me unless you want to make fun of me?"
Rudra: I think you have a problem with overthinking.
Saumya: No, I am being practical.
Rudra: No, you are not. I wanted to be with you for who you are. I liked you for your intelligence and not for your looks.
Saumya was overwhelmed to hear this for the first time: What do you want to say?
Rudra: I want to tell you that first I was drawn towards you for your work, and now I am for your innocent look.
Saumya snorts.
Rudra smiles on seeing her impulsiveness: What are you trying to do?
Saumya: I just want to leave your company.
Rudra: You hate me so much that you don't even want to stay in this company.
Saumya was silently observing Rudra. Her heart ached on seeing him look sad, "Why am I feeling bad for him? I like him and idolise him. That does not mean to love him or have feelings for him.
Rudra: What happened? You hate me, right? I am an aged and ruthless person for you, right?
A tear rolled down from Rudra's cheek. Seeing this Saumya felt like an arrow pierced through her heart.
