Chapter 2 - Awakening Ceremony

Seoul, September 3rd.

For students across the city, this was the most important day of their lives—

the day of the Awakening Ceremony.

Inside Seoul's Central High School, nearly 4,000 students gathered in the massive auditorium. For years, they had trained, dreamed, and prayed for this moment. Because today, with just one touch of the crystal, their lives could change forever.

Some would awaken as Fighters—warriors capable of clashing directly with monsters.

Others as Supporters—those who healed wounds or granted buffs to allies.

A rare few might awaken as Elementalists, professions that combined both offense and support, wielding devastating magic.

But not all fates were glamorous. Some students would awaken into Livelihood Professions—chefs, farmers, or blacksmiths. They could neither fight nor heal, but their role was no less important.

A Chef's dishes could temporarily or even permanently increase stats.

A Blacksmith could forge weapons tailored for awakened users, unlike the random loot dropped from dungeons.

Even so, everyone knew the truth:

The world needed Fighters most. For without them, humanity would have no shield against the monsters.

And unlike the games of the past… in this world, death meant death.

---

The ceremony hall buzzed with nervous whispers. Parents, servants, and even guild leaders filled the stands, watching with sharp eyes. Talented students could be recruited on the spot, changing not only their own lives but also their family's destiny.

High above the stage, two figures floated in the air.

The first was a man with gray hair, standing at about 5'8, his presence calm yet commanding.

The second wore a white robe, his aura radiating authority, looking around forty years old.

The gray-haired man raised his voice, and silence fell over the crowd.

"Hello students," he said with a faint smile. "Today is your Awakening Ceremony. Do not be nervous. No matter which class you awaken into, this school will guide you. So—best of luck to all of you."

At the center of the stage stood a massive crystal, glowing faintly with mana.

One by one, students would step forward, place their hand upon it, and reveal their fate. Their Class.

Classes were ranked into tiers:

Normal

Intermediate

Rare

Hidden

Legendary

For most, the best they could hope for was Intermediate. But hidden within this crowd of thousands, destiny stirred… and history waited for a new legend to awaken.
