I don't know how I'm supposed to use the runes I have to attack. Shao Mingzhu thought, and his mind raced.
I could try to use the golden mist and use it to write runes, as it can contain the power of luck and merit in it, I don't see why it can't use the power of Heavenly Thunder, which is a Heavenly Rune, the same quality of Luck and Merit. As how I'll send it down to Wang Lin? That's the future me problem.
Shao Mingzhu began to manipulate the golden mist and brought it into the palm of his hand. The gold mist swirled as it rushed to Shao Mingzhu's palm, and danced slightly around it.
Shao Mingzhu observed the golden mist for three seconds before trying to shape it into the Heavenly Thunder Runes. The golden mist started to change shape, almost forming the characters "Heavenly" and "Thunder" in Ancient Greek characters, but every time he came close, the golden mist would explode a part, and Shao Mingzhu would have to gather it back to the palm of his hand.
Come on, I don't have time for failure right now. Wang Lin could only last a minute against a Dao Demon. Shao Mingzhu urged himself, and kept repeating the same actions as before.
As Shao Mingzhu rushed to complete the Heavenly Thunder Runes which he had never created before, nor used the golden mist to write runes, Wang Lin was currently standing still, his body stiff as his ears were on high alert.
The red mist was too dense for him to see anything, and his earth element has a sense of rejection here. It was like the ground was made out of flesh instead of dirt and rock. He even used the water element which he barely cultivates, but found no moisture in the ground that could help establish a link with the earth element.
Is the ground completely made out of flesh and blood here? Has the Twin Peaks always been this scary? If so, why did those with power let this place exist for so many years?
Wang Lin's mind raced with thoughts, but sadly only one person could answer his question right now, and he's currently lurking towards him right now, seemingly looking for a snack, and that snack might just be him.
The Dao Demon sounded like it was moving through water instead of walking on ground, making it very easy for Wang Lin to pin point its location.
God damn voice, when are you going to make your move!
Wang Lin gritted his teeth, and knew he'd probably be alone for a while.
I need some time. Shao Mingzhu said, seemingly reading his mind.
The Dao Demon is slowly approaching, I roughly say you have fifteen seconds until it attacks. I can't give you much help aside from talking as I prepare for my attack, but I'd assume you'd like some peace and quiet as you fight so you can concentrate.
Wang Lin didn't respond to the voice. He wanted to, but he needed to save every breath he had.
One wrong move can cause his body to be completely devoured by the Dao Demon. He'd rather be captured by the Yellow Moon than die by this thing.
A couple of seconds would pass, and sure enough, a loud roar that affected his mind sounded, causing him to be briefly stunned.
Move!
Shao Mingzhu's booming voice sounded in Wang Lin's mind, and he instinctively dodged to his left.
He darted to the left, narrowly avoiding the crimson claw that slashed past him. In its wake came a horrifying sound, the wet rip of flesh and the chorus of agonized screams; as though countless people were being torn apart beside his ears. The noise drilled into his skull, and his pupils shrank in shock, his breath catching at the sheer brutality carried within that single swipe.
Theses fuckers are really terrifying!
Wang Lin finally had the Dao Demon in his sights, its towering form looming in the haze. Yet his hands remained still, powerless to strike. He was deep within its domain, every breath weighed down by its oppressive presence, and his body was at its lowest ebb. Here, at his weakest, he could do nothing but endure under the shadow of the very he wished to disappear.
Hurry up! Wang Lin shouted in his head.
He knew that the voice probably couldn't hear him shouting in his head, but it gave him some hope.
The Dao Demon struck again, and this time its claw did not miss. The talons tore across Wang Lin's arm, leaving a deep gash that burned with pain. Warm blood spilled freely, running down his skin in crimson streams, but he had no time to acknowledge the wound. Before the pain could even register, he was already forcing his battered body to move, twisting aside as the demon's claws raked through the air once more.
As the fight continued, Shao Mingzhu finally was able to form a Heavenly Thunder Rune with the Golden Mist, but now the problem was how to use it.
He was in the Heavenly Palace, a higher dimension and without a physical body. He could see by using a world projection, and could speak using Runes inside of the Heavenly Palace, but he wasn't sure how to strike.
Should I just move these runes in the projection of the world, more specially, the clouds? But how would I target the Dao Demon? Ah scree it. I'll just cover myself in luck and merit runes and hope for the best.
Shao Mingzhu did just that, and his whole body was covered in luck and merit. This wouldn't be possible for a Tier One Rune Master, as they could only write runes to pass on knowledge, but couldn't use the effects of the runes. Luckily the Golden Mist seemed to bypass all these restrictions, allowing Shao Mingzhu to fully use his knowledge to some degree.
Shao Mingzhu stretched out the palm of his hands, and moved the Runes alongside his palm, and put it into the clouds. Once the runes were in the clouds, they seemed to be merging with it, and once they fully disappeared, the clouds on Earth by the Twin Peaks started to change.
I can't control the Runes anymore? The runes are being controlled by Earth, and Earth doesn't seem to like this Dao Demon very much. Well, if people just think it was the Earth's doing, that would get rid of one of my worries, but I can't do it too often.
Shao Mingzhu watched the clouds change in the sky with satisfaction. It was his first time ever using Runes since he came to this world, and he did it in such an explosive manner.
Your support has arrived. Shao Mingzhu said to Wang Lin, who was now covered in scars and blood.
Wang Lin didn't respond, but he did feel the atmosphere around him change. The once gloomy feeling of the Twin Peaks has vanished, but it now has a feeling of destruction and annihilation.
What the hell did that voice do? Wang Lin wondered.
The Dao Demon also seemed to sense the change, and looked up at the sky.
Unlike Wang Lin who's unable to see in the red blood mist, the Dao Demon has no troubles with its own creation. Looking up at the sky, the Dao Demon felt a terrible force lock onto him, and the clouds glowed a golden red hue.
The Dao Demon screamed at the sky, ignoring Wang Lin, and dashed back where it came from.
Wang Lin watched it disappear and heard his footsteps getting father and father away from him, and let out a sigh of relief.
Don't be too happy now, I recommend taking some cover.
Wang Lin was confused when he heard the voice, but the next second a golden red light flashed by his eyes. He even saw it within the blood mist, and that golden red light struck the Dao Demon straight on.
Second thought, start running to the other side and get the hell out of the Twin Peaks.
Shao Mingzhu didn't know how long and how many lightning strikes the Earth can use, but it wouldn't be enough to kill a Tier Three Dao Demon, but it can definitely injure it. Lightning, light, and the Heavens is the weakness to evil things like Dao Demons, and Shao Mingzhu combined the Heavens and Lightning into one, making an ultimate attack on it.
"Got it." Wang Lin said, and heard the desperate cries of a thousand souls as he passed by.
He had no interest in checking on the Dao Demon's situation, and wanted to get the hell out of here.
Another rumble sounded behind him, and he had no doubt it was the same thing that struck it before, therefore didn't even bother to look back.
After nine strikes of thunder, the sound of the Dao Demon's cries and anger faded, and Wang Lin had at least a ten minute head start on it, and at his current speed, another ten to get out.
