Chapter 15 - Aweakining of the forgotten

Chapter 15 – Shadows of Strategy

The trio moved silently through the dense forest, their bodies bruised but spirits unbroken. Leon Jian's golden aura was dim now, the Celestial Jade recovering from the surges of energy during their encounter with Xianwu. The night was quiet, almost deceptively so, broken only by distant calls of nocturnal creatures.

"We can't keep running forever," Leon said, adjusting the jade against his chest. "The sect is organized, and Xianwu knows our capabilities. If we face them blindly again, we'll be surrounded and outmatched."

Mei Lin nodded, eyes sharp in the moonlight. "We need intelligence, and we need a plan. That vault was just the beginning. We know Eldric is orchestrating everything—but to strike, we must understand his strategy first."

Kael, ever vigilant, led them to a secluded glade, where he had hidden supplies and old scouting reports. "I've been tracking sect movements for months. There's a pattern—supply lines, patrol rotations, and secret archives. If we can intercept one of their communication points, we can learn where they're weakest."

Leon's gaze hardened. "Then that's our next move. We hit them where they least expect it. We gather the intelligence, and we turn the tables."

Over the next few days, they moved cautiously, observing from the shadows. Leon's enhanced senses, amplified by the Celestial Jade, allowed them to detect traps, eavesdrop on sect patrols, and avoid detection. Slowly, a clearer picture of the sect's operations emerged: hidden outposts, heavily guarded supply routes, and an inner circle loyal only to Eldric.

One night, while camped on a ridge overlooking a river, Kael spoke quietly. "There's one location they've neglected—the old ruins by the eastern canyon. It's lightly guarded and used for routine storage. If we infiltrate it, we might find more documents, or even an artifact that could give us leverage."

Mei Lin glanced at Leon. "It's risky. If we're caught, they'll know we're systematically dismantling their network."

Leon's fists glowed faintly. "We take calculated risks. The sect has kept me in the dark for too long. We take the initiative, not wait to be hunted. Tomorrow, we strike."

The next day, as the sun rose over the canyon, the trio approached the ruins. Leon felt the jade's energy pulsing faster, warning him of potential dangers. Mei Lin scouted ahead, moving like a shadow, while Kael monitored patrol patterns.

Inside the ruins, they discovered what they sought: crates of documents, scrolls detailing sect hierarchies, and, most importantly, a sealed chest emanating a faint, dark aura. Leon approached cautiously, the jade's golden light reacting instantly.

"This… this feels different," Leon muttered. "It's not like the other artifacts. Something powerful… and dangerous."

Kael frowned. "Whatever's inside, Eldric wouldn't leave it unguarded. This could change everything."

Mei Lin tightened her grip on her sword. "Then we prepare. We take what we need, and we retreat before reinforcements arrive. Speed and precision—just like before."

Leon nodded, feeling the familiar surge of determination. The sect had underestimated him once, but now, with allies, intelligence, and the Celestial Jade, he intended to turn every shadow, every trap, every secret against them.

"The hunt is on," Leon whispered, his golden aura flaring brighter than before. "And this time… we will strike first."

The forest around them seemed to hold its breath, aware that the tides were shifting. Leon Jian was no longer merely surviving—he was planning, preparing, and moving closer to the day when Eldric and the Azure Cloud Sect would finally pay for their betrayal.
