Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Hours passed as the six had free time on their hands before their next class, as they only had to worry about two classes for Monday, as it seemed they were given a more relaxing intro into the week, as the next days would surely ramp up as they had upwards of three or even five classes, but for now, they just had to worry about their next class.

There wasn't much to do, as while Rohan insisted that they should use the time to complete their new homework, the other five rejected the idea in favor of exploration. Reluctantly, Rohan followed, as he felt he could do the work later if he had to, and he didn't want to leave his friends behind.

They explored the whole of their sector, getting to know all of the buildings, including the ones they'd have to go to next. Unfortunately, their next class wasn't together, as while they had to go to the same building to take the same course, they were to be taught by different professors. Luckily, it was a rare abnormality, as they were to be in the same classes for the majority of their courses, with this being one of the few exceptions.

Vrey looks up at the skyscraper-sized buildings with awe, and Sriya looks up as well with a smile, and then back down, speaking to Vrey as they converse about their own topics.

Ara and Shuraj walk together, speaking and walking, looking at the different buildings as they circle the path, making their way towards the forest, as Rohan had brought up the time, indicating that it was time for lunch.

Rohan and Ari walk next to each other, leading the pack, with Rohan having his Connect out and his screen projected, showing the directions to the main hall.

They eventually get to the main hall, where they grab their food from their stations, and eat together on the bench they used previously, with Ara, Vrey, and Rohan on one side, and Ari, Shuraj, and Sriya on the other. Rohan was seated on the side far from the food stations, and as he ate his salad, his eyes couldn't help but survey the exit, as if waiting.

However, he'd be pulled from his surveillance by conversation, and his eyes would break sight. He figured that his brother had either come earlier, as they didn't come at the time of opening, and there was a chance he already found a table with new friends.

While he kept the window open for Dexter to reveal himself, Rohan let go of the worry, confident that his brother was well. He had told Dexter all he could, and now it was up to him to lead his new life, something Rohan knew he could do exceptionally.

All he needed to do was want it.

Tens of minutes pass by as the group's plates progressively get emptier and emptier, and as Rohan gets a flash at the station door, he is time and time greeted to either random other students, or no one.

Finally, all of the plates are emptied, with Rohan's having been the first, and Shuraj's having been the last. Shuraj then stands up, and announces departure, to which the other five stand up, and they escort their platter to the table before leaving it and walking out.

Rohan and Shuraj walk side by side out of the main hall first, and they walk down the plaza, followed by the other four. As they walk, they speak, with Shuraj saying "Well, yeah sucks for you, the rest of us are in the same next class but you. Well, hey, I'll give you the homework answers after class if you want, for the tests, uh, you can probably figure that out on your own, if anything it'd be me who'd need your help."

Rohan chuckles, and he shakes his head, rebuking "You'll be fine, it's not that hard of a class anyways. All of the hard classes we should have together, or at least almost all of them, so you'll be fine for that. But even then, you're on your own for the individual assessments."

Shuraj frowns, and he complains "But-."

However, Rohan interrupts, "You'll get perfect scores, you got it!"

The two lead the group back into the forest, and then back to the sector, where they walk some more down the crowded path, and into their next building, which was one of the skyscrapers. They take the elevator pad up the floors, however Shuraj stops early on floor 22 to get out, and following him is Sriya, Vrey, Ara, and Ari, leaving Rohan alone in the elevator.

He sighs, and continues climbing up to floor 35, where it then stops, and he walks out. He looks to find himself in a hallway, and he follows the location on his Connect map down the hallway, through some intersections, and into some other students. Some of them show that they had the same class as him, and follow him as Rohan seemed to know where he was going.

Eventually, Rohan walks down a corridor, and he checks his map to see that the destination was at the end. He gets to the end, where a door was, and he checks the ID of the room with the one on his map, seeing them as the same. With that, he opens the door, and enters the classroom, followed by the other students who followed him aimlessly.

While he wasn't the only one to enter through the door, he was alone in this class, for he knew of nobody else who would be inside, and he would once more have to face the class alone. But if his brother could do it, so should he.
