When Jasmine entered the room, she saw a woman in her late forties who had a cold expression and two men sitting to her right and left respectively
She walked towards the empty sit in front of the woman and sat there
"good morning ma'am" she greeted
The woman gave her a simple glance through her reading glasses
"Miss Jasmine Jones right?"
"Yes ma'am" Jasmine replied with a nod
"I have checked your resume and it says that you studied a bachelor of arts in jewellery design so if you were to get a job here you would be in the designing department" the woman stated
And Jasmine nodded in affirmation
"So tell us what you know about sparkling beauty," the woman said
"ma'am Sparkling Beauty is a jewellery company which deals with designing jewellery, and manufacturing raw materials like jade, gold, silver and diamonds into finished goods like necklaces, bangles, rings, crowns and many others" Jasmine replied with confidence
"hmm" the woman nodded
"as you know sparkling beauty puts customer service first, how do you ensure that you put customers' needs first?"
"I ensure that my customer's needs are met by actively listening to them and also asking the right questions, treating others as you want to be treated. It is a good rule to live by" Jasmine replied without batting an eye
"Okay but why do you want to work for us" the woman asked
Jasmine cleared her throat
"I want to work for Sparkling Beauty because I love your products and your company's culture seems great too," Jasmine said
"Okay since you studied jewellery design you must have a few design you don't mind if we take a look right" the male interviewer at the left said
"Sure" Jasmine said took out a few designs out of the file she was holding and handed it over to the female interviewer
The woman glanced at the design with a neutral expression and handed it to the man on her left
"Miss Jasmine are you sure that you designed it yourself we don't accept pirated design and I'm sure you know the consequences of pirated works" the woman asked with raised brows
"yes ma," Jasmine said
the interviewers asked Jasmine many more questions which answered with confidence
The interviewers discussed amongst themselves for a few minutes then scribbled things unknown to her on the note pad in front of them then turned to her
"Miss Jones ... We will get back to you by the end of today... Check your email for the feedback" the woman said
Jasmine nodded in response and stood up ... She gave a slight bow to the interviewers and left
Jasmine left the office with a calm expression so people began to discuss amongst themselves
"I really don't think that she's gonna get the job I mean look her her unbranded outfit" person A said
"Yeah... But I can't deny , she has a pretty dope fashion sense" person B said
"What are you talking about you can't compare what she's wearing to our outfits I bet the interviewers wouldn't take a second glance at her" A said with a frown
Many other people discussed amongst themselves and hearing their discussions she was still calm. After all time would tell
Hearing the comments made by people Jenny who was standing by the door felt satisfied and with a smirk, she approached Jasmine who just came out of the hall, it was clear that she was waiting for Jasmine to pick on her.
"tsk tsk tsk Jasmine I told you that you wouldn't get this job, didn't I? you keep embarrassing yourself even after I warned you ... It's clear that you're not welcomed here , and Looking at you, poverty is written all over you. But don't worry like I said those common companies like Shinning Life and Glittering World would suit your status more so why don't you go there" Jenny mocked
" it seems you got the job Jenny" Jasmine said calmly
"Obviously Jasmine, I got the job, take a look at the email which I just received," Jenny said showing the phone to Jasmine
"there is no need to be jealous of me, sweetie I'll resume work on the 12th of April which is the day after tomorrow, so Jasmine why don't you just go home and cry to Mommy I'm sure that she's gonna comfort you like she always does," Jenny said with obvious pride
"Well, good for you Jenny, congratulations" Jasmine said and walked away while Jenny stood there grinning from ear to ear
"Even a blind man would sniff her jealousy ," Jenny Said to herself with obvious pride

A knock was heard on the door of Jones's residence
"Who is it" Elizabeth asked
"It's me mum" Jasmine replied
"oh okay, I'm coming" Elizabeth said and walked towards the door
As she opened the door she was greeted by a stressed looking Jasmine
"Mum" Jasmine hugged her mother tiredly
"What's wrong Jay... " Elizabeth asked worriedly leading her daughter to the couch
"Nothing mum" Jasmine said slumping on the couch with a loud thud
"You can't lie to me Jay ... I can tell that you're bothered" Elizabeth commented
"It's just, the interviewers didn't seem much impressed by my work, they said they'd give me feedback by the end of today but I can't help but think my work isn't good enough mum...I mean my course mate from college, jenny recieved an email immediately after her interview so why's mine taking so long" Jasmine complained
"Calm down Jay... You're different from Jenny so it's a given that ure not going to be replied at the same time as her and today hasn't ended yet so it's okay ," Elizabeth comforted reciving a nodd from Jasmine
"Now give me a smile" Elizabeth said earning a beautiful smile from her daughter
"You're the best mum" Jasmine said pulling her mum in for a hug
"Yeah yeah, I know I'm the best, there is no other mum like me " Elizabeth commented with pride
"Yes mum there is really no mum like you" Jasmine chuckled
"I made your favorite spaghetti... It's on the counter you should eat now since you didn't have your breakfast before you left" Elizabeth said while patting Jasmine's hair
"Let's stay like this for a while mum ... I'll eat later" Jasmine said while she snuggled closer to her mom earning a helpless sigh from Elizabeth
After a while, Elizabeth noticed the even breathing from Jasmine... She was asleep...

She pulled away from Jasmine who whispered unknown words in her sleep make Elizabeth smile... She stood up from the couch and removed Jasmine's shoes and placed her legs on the couch...
"I really hope you get everything your heart desires Jay.. I love you" Elizabeth said placing a warm kiss on Jasmine's forehead before leaving the sitting room
