LongFei hopped home with a bright expression. He couldn't care less, even though he was twenty-five years old in his past life, in a teenage body, he was jumping like a child who had just received a packet of candy.
"I can't imagine how happy Twinkle Fei would be when I tell her."
He thought about his little sister. Although he wasn't her real brother, as a person with human feelings, LongFei was a bit shaken by what the two siblings had passed through, so he was so happy that he couldn't wait to deliver the good news.
After some moments, he reached home and immediately threw himself in front of the laptop computer.
Since he had only used about thirty minutes in school, the apartment complex was still silent because the neighbors hadn't returned from work.
Trying to log in to the Explorer League platform, his eyes widened at the amount of information needed just for verification.
"How many places have I traveled to? What is the strangest thing I have discovered?"
"Well, I'm a Transmigrator and I have traveled across worlds… oh, I can't say that!"
LongFei smiled amusingly and put in normal information every other person would believe.
Immediately after he logged in, LongFei was directed to level one.
LongFei realized there was a membership level in the League of Global Explorers.
"It makes sense, even among the elite, there are levels."
He nodded, admitting the new information with a clear mind.
Checking the numerous privileges given to Explorers, he saw the section where he could apply for the Explorer Military Academy.
"Whoa, one of the privileges given to recruited students—so I can even further my education?"
From the memories of the previous LongFei, he realized his plan. The previous LongFei didn't plan to further his own education but to work even harder to sponsor his little sister to the highest level of education.
"What a caring brother."
"Now that the school resumption is next month, I need to earn enough money for Twinkle Fei before I go."
"I need to prepare for my first trip."
LongFei wasn't a dull person in his past life. Even though he was a prominent doctor known for his genetic research, he made sure to stay fit and learn many self-defense martial techniques. He was a genius who took everything into consideration.
"There are many times I have participated in field experiments. In fact, I love collecting raw data in the wild."
To survive in a dangerous world like God's Horizon, he would need to arm himself.
During the Great Mutation, humanity evolved in every genetic aspect.
Like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, humanity gained this unique Life Cycle containing five Stages, each a step towards godhood.
But they were stuck at a bottleneck; their growth was stunted with no way to evolve further.
That was until they ventured into God's Horizon, a world where they could advance to higher Stages of their Life Cycle.
And the higher the Stage, the more their life span increased.
"This world is so full of potential, I can even increase my life span!"
However, during the first expedition of humans into this world, the chance of survival was so slim that these horrifying creatures quickly made humans fall down to the bottom of the food chain.
It was when they discovered the secret behind these monsters that humans could dream of survival.
Within the bodies of these creatures were spawn crystals, which enabled an Explorer to respawn them when killed.
By absorbing this crystal into one's sea of soul, Explorers realized they could form a binding contract with the creatures and summon them anytime they wanted.
And by consuming the gene cores of creatures, they saw their stunted growth increase explosively.
LongFei's body shook with anticipation. In this world, he would make advancements in his evolution.
Just like a caterpillar dream of flying one day, he too wanted to advance into the next Stage of his Life Cycle.
"Who wouldn't want to grow?"
Right now, LongFei was in the first Stage, an Awakened. The next stage was the Evolved, with the third Stage being a Metamorph, then a Semigod, and finally a God.
LongFei's body trembled with excitement. He wondered how it would feel to become a god.
"Creatures in God's Horizon are immune to conventional weapons. These monsters were built different."
Immediately, LongFei saw a section where they were giving out weapons, and he jumped for joy.
"Would they give out Beast Weapons, would they?"
LongFei anxiously rubbed his palms together and clicked the link.
As he had heard, these weapons cost a fortune, and they were a must-have for an Explorer who wanted to survive and raid regions where these creatures occupied.
LongFei quickly navigated to the section of the weapons. Compared to normal ones, Beast Weapons were crafted from the creatures, which made them vulnerable to attacks from weapons forged from their carcasses.
Although Beast Weapons were considered basic tier because of the limited damage they could deal, LongFei knew if he wanted to explore, he would need to get one.
When he reached the weapon page, there was a section called Advanced Tier. LongFei knew this was the very section where Beast Spawns were.
Beast Spawns were the contracted and respawned pet versions of some slain creatures in God's Horizon, while Beast Weapons were weapons forged from their carcasses. The former was called advanced tier because of its versatility.
Beast Spawns could fight alongside Explorers or merge with them, giving them features of terrifying beasts.
Another thing was that if they were damaged during battle, as living gear, they could simply heal back if it wasn't a life-threatening situation and return to a good condition.
LongFei looked at the section with a bitter expression—it was locked out to him. This meant his membership level wasn't high enough to see one, let alone get it, and he was only allowed to order one weapon from the basic tier section.
"I get that advanced tier costs a generational fortune, but why only give out one basic tier one?"
With a rueful expression, LongFei started checking out the Beast Weapons.
There were many weapons there including swords, spears, crossbows, and bows; there were even armor sets.
They all had intricate and sophisticated structures ordinary ones didn't have. And every beast part used to craft them was briefly stated below the weapons.
He started ruminating on which weapon to choose. After all, it would decide his move.
