In a corner of the underground tavern, the two sat facing each other in silence.

Only the faint sound of eating occasionally broke the quiet.

"Mr. Stark, are we just going to do nothing?"

Fern put down her knife and fork, her eyes fixed on Stark, who was wolfing down his food.

"Huh?"

Stark scratched his head.

"Didn't Yulian tell us to wander around the city and that he would handle everything?"

"But Mistress Frieren is still locked up in the Count's mansion dungeon!"

Fern's expression was not good.

Looking worried, she was a little concerned about Frieren.

"Then should we go see Frieren?"

Stark thought for a moment.

"Anyway, we don't know what Yulian's plan is."

"Since that's the case, it's good for us to go see Frieren and hear her opinion."

Fern smiled slightly, nodded gently, and stood up.

"Hey, wait for me! I haven't finished eating yet!"

Looking at Fern, who had already started to leave, Stark sat in his chair and shouted helplessly.

However, Fern clearly had no intention of stopping.

"Annoying..."

Seeing this, Stark pulled a long face, ate a few more mouthfuls of food with effort, and then jogged after her.

"So boring."

Frieren looked up at the ceiling and murmured.

The cell was empty except for basic tables, chairs, and a bed.

Once locked inside, she could only begin a long period of zoning out.

"Mistress Frieren?"

Suddenly, a soft voice sounded at the cell door.

Fern and Stark appeared one after another at Frieren's cell door.

"Fern, you're here."

Frieren's eyes lit up slightly.

"Mistress Frieren, I can't believe you can still smile."

Fern rubbed her forehead helplessly.

"I didn't want to smile either, but you're here now."

Frieren got up from her chair and walked to Fern's side.

The two were separated by only a single iron gate.

"Did you bring me a magic book?"

Frieren's eyes were full of anticipation.

"Mistress Frieren..."

Fern puffed out her cheeks.

"Alright, alright, I'm just kidding."

Frieren waved her hand, her expression returning to normal.

"How are things?"

"The Demon is with the Count. Mr. Yulian said we don't need to worry about it and that he will handle it."

"I asked the guards, and they said Mistress Frieren you have to be locked up for two more years before you can get out."

Fern breathed a sigh of relief and said everything she knew in one go.

But after speaking, Fern's face was full of worry again.

However you look at it, the situation doesn't seem very optimistic...

"What did Yulian go to do?"

Frieren's face didn't show what she was thinking, she just asked softly.

"Mr. Yulian should have gone to negotiate with the Demon."

Fern pursed her lips, remembering what she had said to Yulian before.

Yulian, do you have a way to stop the war between the Greater Demon here and Count Granat?

Fern, that's a good idea.

I'll go.

"Negotiate with the Demon?"

Frieren's face showed a thoughtful expression.

The relationship between Demons...

It should be very similar to the relationship between wild beasts, right?

Can it succeed?

"Mistress Frieren, do you have any plans?"

Fern asked softly.

Frieren was their backbone, and now Frieren was locked in the dungeon.

Fern was a little at a loss.

"How about..."

Stark made a gesture of breaking out of prison and blinked his eyes.

"No."

Frieren refused decisively with a cold face.

She knew the consequences of violating the laws of the human world very well.

Himmel and Eisen were almost beheaded before...

"So what's going on with those two Demons?"

Frieren thought for a moment, biting her finger and speaking.

"I heard they came for peace talks."

Fern's face showed a hint of relief.

"As long as the peace talks are successful, war can be avoided, and the people living here will also..."

"Peace talks?"

"Impossible."

Frieren's cold words shattered Fern's illusion.

"Wh-why?"

Fern was stunned, a little confused.

"Demons are just beasts that cannot communicate, and humans are just food for the Demons."

"You expect beasts and food to have peace talks?"

Frieren looked at Fern as if she were an idiot.

"But Mr. Yulian can communicate well, can't he?"

"Mistress Frieren, I think you're thinking too extremely."

"There must be Demons within the Demon Race who can communicate just like Mr. Yulian!"

Fern retorted in disbelief.

"Exactly the same."

Frieren looked at Fern, who was trying hard to convince herself, and her lips moved.

"What?"

Fern was a little confused by Frieren's strange words.

Frieren, our languages are connected.

We must have a way to communicate.

The gentle blue-haired Hero stood in front of Frieren.

Behind him was a thin, young female Demon.

The female Demon sat down on the ground weakly, looking pitiful, her eyes filled with resistance as she looked at the villagers surrounding her with torches.

Himmel, she's a Demon.

Demons are just beasts.

Frieren repeated her words faintly.

Frieren, believe me, okay?

Himmel gently moved the staff Frieren was holding to the other side.

She must be innocent!

Not just Himmel, Eisen, Heiter, even the villagers who had been persecuted by the Demon hesitated.

Perhaps this weak, pitiful Demon was also a victim of the war, just like them?

"And then, Mistress Frieren?"

Seeing that she had made the same decision as Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen, Fern's eyes were full of expectation.

It must be right, Demons must be able to communicate!

"Later, that Demon killed the village chief's family who adopted her, and sent the village chief's daughter as a gift of apology to the family who had lost their daughter because of the Demon."

"In short..."

"Monsters that cannot communicate."

Stark murmured.

"That's right."

Frieren nodded gently.

"In that case, will Mr. Yulian be in danger!"

Fern said worriedly.

"Yulian should be fine..."

Frieren glanced at the moon outside the cell window.

"But I'm not sure about the Count."

Frieren said, implying something.

"I understand, Mistress Frieren."

Fern's eyes were firm.

"Wait, what do you understand again!"

Stark had a bad feeling.

"Let's go protect the Count!"

Fern clenched her small fists, her body trembling slightly.

She was about to fight the Demon...

"No, let's break out of prison, Frieren!"

Stark wanted to cry, and said he would smash the cell door with brute force.

"Stark..."

Frieren's tone was flat.

"As a warrior, you should be brave once too."

"Live up to the name of Warrior Eisen's disciple."

"I see..."

Stark's face returned to normal, and he gritted his teeth and nodded.

"I understand."

The two figures left under the flickering firelight.

Frieren looked at the two leaving, wondering if she had forgotten something.

Suddenly, Frieren's expression changed, and she quickly lay down by the iron gate and shouted!

"Fern, remember my magic book!"
