Chapter 96 - Chapter 96: Spells of Kamar-Taj

"Whether Thanos comes or not will be clear soon. Anyway, I should be able to handle it easily, so there's no need to worry too much."

Noah was still in the training room at this time. Five days had passed since he went to Kamar-Taj to retrieve the ancient books. The day after he finished reading the ancient books, he went to the New York Sanctum again and asked the resident sorcerer to open a Teleportation portal for him to Kamar-Taj. Afterward, Ancient One began teaching him Kamar-Taj magic. After Noah obtained the Sling Ring, Ancient One also taught him how to communicate with Vishanti and borrow Vishanti's power.

Noah did not immediately use his own magic to cast Kamar-Taj magic at first. Instead, like other Kamar-Taj sorcerers, he communicated with Vishanti and borrowed magic. Noah sensed Vishanti's power at the time and found that the other party was indeed very powerful, which Noah could perceive from the borrowed power. However, Kamar-Taj sorcerers borrowing Vishanti's power was not without conditions.

The word 'borrow' implies repayment, but Vishanti is not like those terrifying and greedy dimension lords. Kamar-Taj sorcerers make a pact with Vishanti: they can borrow Vishanti's power during their lifetime, but after death, their power will belong to Vishanti. These are relatively mild conditions.

However, when Noah attempted to communicate with Vishanti, he was aware of this, so he did not directly borrow from Vishanti. Instead, he first communicated with the other party, and Vishanti seemed to know of Noah's existence and directly allocated some power to Noah. At the time, Noah was a bit confused because he had just communicated with Vishanti and hadn't even had a chance to ask Vishanti for power, yet the other party directly gave it.

Although Noah didn't know why Vishanti did this, a big shot of that level shouldn't use schemes to mess with him, right? He couldn't defeat the other party now, and if they wanted to, they could be direct. After Noah checked that the power transmitted by the other party had no problems, he used it with confidence.

Five days had passed, and Noah had already mastered some simple Kamar-Taj spells, such as the Rings of Raggadorr, which are the twin-hand shields used by Doctor Strange, as well as energy whips and Teleportation portals. These three are the most proficient magic Noah currently uses. Of course, he also knows the most common magic weapon shapeshifting of Kamar-Taj sorcerers, but Noah feels this magic is somewhat useless. He already has weapons; why bother creating one out of energy? Wouldn't attaching the energy used to create a weapon to a real weapon make its power even greater?

Besides these three spells, Noah also learned a magic that is highly compatible with him: Watumbs Wind. This wind-attribute magic was used by Doctor Strange in the movies to blow away dust, isolate pedestrians, control objects, and even block tidal waves.

Besides these four spells, Noah is still not very proficient in some more advanced magic, such as the Ancient One's Body of Hoggarth, which can turn powerful attacks into intangible spells; the Ekko's Form, a spell that creates countless clones; the Bolts of Balthakk, one of the few offensive spells used by Doctor Strange; the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, a powerful magic that, as the name suggests, borrows the power of Cyttorak; the Shields of Seraphim, Doctor Strange's most powerful defensive magic, capable of withstanding spaceship impacts; and the Mirror Dimension, a budget killer. Noah also really wants to learn this magic, but he hasn't yet; and Astral Projection. If Noah summons the hero Shen, he will also be able to astral project, but Noah hasn't summoned him yet, so he can only learn it himself.

These spells are basically the more powerful ones in Kamar-Taj (mainly because only these appeared in the movies). Besides these, Noah also took the time to jot down some minor spells and will learn them if he gets the chance. Moreover, Noah discovered that Kamar-Taj also teaches energy projection spells, which involve turning magic into fireballs and similar spells, but they don't use them often because this magic requires a lot of energy, and most Kamar-Taj sorcerers cannot afford to use it.

"Zzz~"

A yellow Electrocution Blade materialized from Noah's hand, crackling with arcs of electricity in the air. Noah was trying to use the energy within his body to cast Kamar-Taj magic. Now, he used the electricity control ability he gained after equipping the Electrocution Blade, and the result was obvious: his internal magic could be used to cast Kamar-Taj magic.

"Bang!"

The lightning whip struck the air, producing a violent sound. Compared to Vishanti's energy, the electric whip formed from Noah's electrical magic was more powerful. However, Noah was not interested in the offensive magic in Kamar-Taj. He was interested in functional magic, such as Teleportation portals, astral projection, and the Mirror Dimension.

Dismissing the electric whip, Noah extended his hand and began drawing circles in front of him, envisioning a specific place in his mind. Sparks suddenly appeared out of thin air in the space ahead, then rapidly expanded into a circular Teleportation portal. Kamar-Taj's Teleportation portal magic, once learned, only requires the sorcerer to imagine the desired destination in their mind while casting, and a portal to that imagined place will open.

Noah looked at the stable Teleportation portal in front of him, stepped in, and after passing through the portal, Noah arrived at a familiar place: his home's living room. The Teleportation portal behind him slowly dissipated without Noah specifically maintaining it. It's worth noting that Noah was not wearing the Sling Ring on his hand.

Logically, Kamar-Taj sorcerers rely on the Sling Ring to open Teleportation portals and use magic. However, after Noah obtained the Sling Ring, he found it troublesome and cumbersome to wear, so he put it into his equipment slot. This was his first attempt to put Marvel equipment into the equipment slot, and he was also testing whether this idea was feasible.

And the Teleportation portal lighting up again was enough to explain everything. Noah already had an idea: in the future, he would fill his equipment slots with Infinity Stones, and then he would be invincible. Noah stepped into the Teleportation portal returning to the training room. Now he wanted to see how far the Teleportation portal could open.

Noah had Lissandra display a photo of the Moon's surface for him, intending to open a Teleportation portal to the Moon. While drawing circles with his hands, Noah's mind envisioned the Moon's surface, and the Teleportation portal in front of him slowly took shape.

"Whoosh!!!"

As the Teleportation portal opened, the air around Noah changed dramatically. The air formed a violent turbulent flow, rushing towards the Teleportation portal. Noah's body stabilized the instant the airflow appeared, and he even wrapped himself in magic. Lissandra also completely sealed off the training room.

After a while, the airflow disappeared. Because the Moon is a vacuum environment with no air, when Noah opened the Teleportation portal on Earth, the pressure difference between the two sides caused air to flow towards the Moon, and now the sealed training room also became a vacuum.

In a vacuum, Noah waved his hand. Due to the lack of atmospheric gravity on Earth, the waving motion could not provide enough reactive force to cause Noah to move. Typically, astronauts who want to move in space can only do so by using propulsion thrusters or robotic arms, but Noah did not need to.

Noah moved his thoughts, and magic enveloped his body, as if a layer of glow had wrapped around his surface. At this point, Noah could move freely in space because magic gave him enough propulsion.

"I really made it to the Moon." Noah looked up at the beautiful blue Planet. Earth looked truly beautiful from a distance.

However, opening the Teleportation portal to the Moon this time, Noah felt that this distance was almost the farthest he could open a Teleportation portal. If he wanted to extend the opening distance of the Teleportation portal, he would have to practice hard. But after learning Teleportation portals, Noah discovered that two skills he possessed seemed to elevate his Teleportation portal magic mastery to a higher level.

The two skills are: the frequently used 'Teleport' and the almost offline 'Flash'.

"I'll go back and thoroughly study these two Summoner skills, especially Flash. I always feel it has great use." Noah didn't linger too much on the Moon's scenery. There wasn't much scenery to speak of here, just sand and craters. Oh, he almost forgot that Inhumans live on the far side of the Moon, but Noah thought it would be better to contact them later.

After admiring the perfect view, Noah turned and flew into the Teleportation portal.

After Noah returned to Earth, the Teleportation portal slowly shrunk until it disappeared.
