"Who is that?" Tony had Jarvis zoom in on the display. He saw the thing that descended from the Bifrost Bridge, a tall, muscular Asgardian in full armor? That's all Tony saw.
"The Destroyer?! Loki actually sent this thing down!" Volstagg saw the figure from afar and recognized what it was.
"Legend says this is the armor King Odin wore during his conquests back in the day," Hogan, one of the Asgardian Four with a black ponytail, calmly stated.
After landing, the Destroyer took heavy steps, walking inch by inch towards the town.
"We're not going to have to fight this guy, are we?" Fandral, one of the Asgardian Four with a blond mustache, asked. He looked at the tall figure approaching them, its majestic and ferocious appearance incredibly imposing. Coupled with the fact that it was King Odin's armor, it made one not want to be its enemy.
Just then, a brief commotion broke out in the crowd. A group of Agents in black suits pushed through, led by Nick Fury, followed by Coulson, Hawkeye Barton, Black Widow, and several other Agents.
"What's the situation now? What's the identity of the new guy who just arrived?" Nick Fury asked Tony and Noah after briefly assessing the scene. He had just arrived and didn't know what had happened with Thor, but he observed that the people who came out of the Bifrost Bridge earlier seemed to be Thor's friends, and judging by the expressions of those present, the new arrival didn't seem to be with them.
"Don't ask me, I don't know anything," Tony said, shrugging. He didn't understand Asgardian matters, and from its appearance, he couldn't tell anything special about the other party.
"Director Fury, evacuating the civilians is the top priority right now. A conflict might break out soon," Noah told Nick Fury. In the movie, those ordinary residents weren't gathered together like this. If the Destroyer fired a laser, Noah thought of that Homelander GIF.
Nick Fury raised the eyebrow on his exposed eye, then ordered the Agents to begin evacuating the surrounding civilians. The civilians also started to realize that something dangerous was about to happen and began taking their families and friends to a safe place.
Watching the retreating people, Thor took a deep breath, then said to Jane:
"Jane, you should leave here quickly too."
"What about you? What will you do?" Jane asked anxiously when she heard Thor's words, sensing he didn't want to leave.
"Thor, of course, has to stay and fight with us," the Fat Warrior said from the side.
Thor walked over to his four Asgardian friends and said earnestly:
"Listen, my friends, I am just a mortal now. If I fight, I might implicate you, but I can stay and help them evacuate."
"If you're staying, then I'm staying too," Jane said to Thor from the side.
At this point, Tony couldn't take it anymore.
"Okay, you guys continue your 8 o'clock soap opera here, I'm going to go meet that guy first."
With that, he flew directly into the sky, heading towards the Destroyer, which was almost at the town.
"What's a soap opera?" Thor was a little confused.
Then, they and Jane began helping the townspeople evacuate. The Asgardian Four and Sif exchanged glances and started heading towards the Destroyer. Noah was in no hurry and chose not to fly over. He wanted to observe the situation first, as this part of the plot was different from the movie, since Iron Man and Nick Fury weren't at the scene in the movie.
Tony quickly arrived in front of the Destroyer, hovering in mid-air. Looking at the silver little giant below, Tony first tried to communicate with it.
"Big guy, get out of here quickly and go back to your Asgard, or don't blame me for being impolite," Tony shouted at the Destroyer below, his hand thrusters working to keep him balanced in mid-air.
After hearing Tony's words, the Destroyer stopped, turned its head towards Tony, and then its facial armor slowly opened.
Tony saw the other party's movement and thought his threat had worked. Just as he was about to speak again, he heard Jarvis's anxious reminder.
"Sir, something's wrong. There's a high energy reading ahead."
"watt?"
Indeed, Tony saw that the other party's opened faceplate was hollow inside. Unmanned? Tony thought, and then he saw the other party's face start to glow.
Tony sensed danger, then swung his hands, his hand thrusters erupting, changing the direction of thrust.
With a whoosh, a huge beam of light grazed past him. Tony immediately broke out in a cold sweat. He felt that if he were hit head-on by that laser, he would be in danger.
"Shit! You bastard!"
Tony came to his senses and immediately became furious. His shoulder armor opened, firing more than a dozen miniature missiles that streaked across the sky with white trails, heading towards the Destroyer.
The missiles impacted the Destroyer, causing a series of explosions. The Destroyer was enveloped in white smoke, and Tony couldn't see its condition, but suddenly the screen turned red, and Tony quickly dodged. Sure enough, another laser shot out from the white mist.
At this moment, Tony heard a rough shout.
"Midgardian, I'll help you." A figure rushed over, it was the Fat Warrior Volstagg. He raised his axe and swung it at the Destroyer.
A huge clang of metal rang out, and the Destroyer raised its arm to block the axe.
Volstagg's arm was numb from the impact. He looked at the Destroyer, which was unharmed, not even a white mark on it. Volstagg swallowed hard, then was backhanded away by the Destroyer.
Hogan and Fandral caught Volstagg from behind, being pushed back several meters by the huge impact.
"Whoosh~"
A laser beam descended from the sky, hitting the Destroyer and making it retreat a few steps. Tony retracted his palms in the air, then landed on the ground. It was inconvenient to use his palm cannons in the air, so he decided to land on the ground to fight.
After landing, Tony immediately raised his hands, firing lasers from both, and then simultaneously launched all the missiles he could fire from his body.
The Destroyer was continuously forced back by this barrage of attacks. Seeing this, the Asgardian Four also began to advance and attack, using their weapons to strike the Destroyer. Although the Destroyer was incredibly tough, it was still continuously pushed back by their coordinated efforts. Every time the Destroyer fired a laser, Tony would hit its head with his palm cannons, causing the laser's direction to veer off, hitting houses and vehicles, causing huge explosions.
Tony and the others, fighting together for the first time, surprisingly showed some synergy.
"Director, aren't we going to act?" Hawkeye asked, observing the battle from afar.
"We didn't bring any large weapons on this trip. Going up would only cause trouble, and besides, there's no need to worry too much. Haven't you seen that Noah hasn't made a move yet? He must have his own plans," Nick Fury said from the side. He noticed that while Iron Man and the Asgardians' attacks could make the Destroyer retreat, they weren't causing any effective damage, let alone the fact that they only brought a few small handguns.
"Director, I can pilot the quinjet to attack the enemy," Natasha suddenly interjected.
"Hmm, fighter jets have a large attack range and can easily hit them by mistake. Let's see how it goes first."
Under their continuous assault, the Destroyer was pushed back under a house. Suddenly, a figure jumped down from the rooftop. It was Sif, who had disappeared earlier. Wielding her spear, she used the force of her descent to directly stab the spear into the Destroyer's chest. Sif's spear was forged by an Asgardian master smith, incredibly sharp, and it directly pierced through the Destroyer.
Just as Sif smiled, the Destroyer, which she had pierced, suddenly began to twist its body, turning from being Back to her to facing her, and its face began to glow.
Just as Sif was unable to dodge and was about to be hit by the Destroyer's laser, a lightning bolt struck, hitting the Destroyer's head and interrupting the laser that was about to be fired.
"Thor?!"
Sif and the Asgardian Four saw the lightning and thought Thor had returned. They turned to look, but what they saw was not Thor, but another person in high-tech battle armor, holding a lightning-shaped weapon. That lightning bolt had just been fired from the weapon in his hand.
Thor, who was evacuating townspeople from a distance, also saw this scene. It reminded him of Mjolnir, and he particularly missed the time he spent fighting with his hammer. However, he didn't know when he would be able to pick up his hammer again, so he could only temporarily set aside that thought and send off the last batch of townspeople.
"Jane, you all should leave quickly too."
After everyone had evacuated, only the Agents and Jane's group remained. Thor said to Jane.
"What about you?"
"I want to stay here because my friends are still fighting, and behind the Destroyer, it should be my brother Loki manipulating it. I want to see if I can stop him," Thor said.
"Then I'll wait for you here, Thor."
Returning to the battle scene, Noah finally made his move, using his Electrocution Blade to knock the Destroyer's head askew, then flying into the center of the area.
"Finally here? I thought you were going to sit there with popcorn watching a movie?" Tony couldn't help but curse when he saw Noah arrive.
"Don't rush, I thought you guys were fighting pretty well. I wanted popcorn too, but unfortunately, everyone ran away, so I couldn't get any."
When the Destroyer's attack was interrupted, Sif had already pulled out her spear and moved away from the Destroyer. The Asgardian Four regrouped.
"Thank you."
Sif thanked Noah, then looked at the Destroyer, which had already stood up.
After the Destroyer stood up again, the hole in its chest where it had just been pierced had actually repaired itself. Facing the crowd, the Destroyer showed no emotion, as it was just a suit of armor. However, Loki, behind the armor, heard Noah speak, recognized Noah as the one who had embarrassed him that night, and was so angry that he gnashed his teeth, furiously ordering the Destroyer to kill Noah first.
The Destroyer's head emitted an intense glow. This time, the energy was much greater than before.
Seeing this, Noah first stopped the Asgardian Four, who were about to charge again, then raised his hand and began to charge power. A whistling sound rang out as Noah and the Destroyer simultaneously unleashed huge laser cannons. The two lasers collided, causing a massive explosion. Several houses at the point of laser impact were directly affected by the explosion's shockwave, collapsing immediately, and many debris were blasted away, scattering everywhere.
Just as everyone was somewhat shocked by this attack, they suddenly heard Jane's gasp from behind them.
"Thor!!"
