The dazzling colorful pillar of light vanished, leaving a mysterious mark on the muddy ground.
After the pillar of light disappeared, the onlookers began to gather. They looked at Noah, who stood rooted to the spot with lightning in his hand, and the mark on the ground, all with astonished gazes.
"What was that just now?" Dr. Jane asked. She had seen the flickering electric light outside her window from her room and then went out with Thor to check the situation. As soon as they stepped out, they saw the pillar of light from the Bifrost Bridge. Jane didn't know what it was, but she found the light beautiful and very unscientific.
"That's the Bifrost Bridge, Jane, the one I told you about before." Thor looked at the mark left by the Bifrost Bridge with a complex expression. This was the tool that could take him home, but he could never go back now.
Shaking his head and casting aside those worries, Thor turned to look at the lightning in Noah's hand. He felt it was a powerful weapon, and like his mjolnir, it was a lightning-attribute weapon. Of course, the form of the Electrocution Blade made it obvious to anyone that it was a lightning-attribute weapon.
"What?! Is this really the Bifrost Bridge? Was everything you said before true?"
"Of course it's true, why would I lie to you?"
Coulson, standing nearby, looked at Thor a few times after hearing his words, then walked over to Noah. Coulson's gaze lingered on the lightning in Noah's hand before he asked:
"Noah, what happened? What was that thing? Were you fighting someone just now?"
A series of questions followed, indicating Coulson's concern, but Noah wasn't in a hurry. He first put the Electrocution Blade back into his backpack, then looked at Thor.
"Did your brother come here looking for you?"
Noah looked at Thor, and everyone else followed his gaze.
"Yes, my brother Loki just came to see me."
"What?! He invaded our Base without our knowledge?"
Coulson was shocked that an enemy could enter their Base without their knowledge. He was quite surprised. As for why he defined Loki as an enemy, it was because Loki seemed to have fought Noah, so Coulson assumed him to be an enemy.
"Loki can turn invisible, so you couldn't detect him," Noah explained, dispelling Coulson's confusion.
Coulson nodded, not expecting the opponent to be able to turn invisible. No wonder they couldn't detect him. Was this invisibility a superpower or magic? Coulson speculated.
"Then why did you clash with him, Noah?" Coulson looked at the somewhat chaotic scene around the meteorite crater and the cut fence. Given the lightning and thunder just now, Coulson realized that a fierce conflict had taken place here.
"I happened to run into him, so we had a friendly spar to foster inter-realm relations," Noah said with a serious expression, though Coulson didn't quite believe him. Thor, however, looked completely convinced.
"Noah, you're a really good person. I think you and my brother can definitely become good friends."
He hates me, Noah chuckled inwardly.
Next, Coulson directed his subordinates to tidy up the chaotic scene, while Noah and Thor returned to the room.
"So, Thor, you can't lift your hammer now?" Noah asked, sitting across from Thor. Jane and Thor were sitting together, and Jane, hearing Noah's question, was also curious, as she had discovered a whole new World today. Thor and Noah, sitting opposite, seemed to be from this World.
"Yes, I was arrogant and started a war, and then my father banished me to Midgard. Now, I am no longer a Prince of Asgard, and I... I also caused my father's death." At this point, Thor lowered his head in pain, and Jane, seeing this, comforted him.
Noah scratched his chin. Why did Thor believe everything his brother said? His father was so strong, could he just die like that? Although he did eventually die.
"Thor, the news of your father's death, that wasn't told to you by your brother, was it?" Noah asked.
"Oh, it was. How did you know?" Thor looked up, his face showing a puzzled expression.
"Don't you have any doubts? Your brother is the God of Mischief, isn't he fond of lying? Besides, I deduce that your father is merely in Odin Sleep, and hasn't died."
"Odin Sleep? What's that? Why haven't I heard my father mention it?" Thor asked, puzzled. He now realized that he shouldn't blindly trust his brother's words, after all, his brother had enjoyed lying to him and playing pranks on him since childhood.
"It is rumored that King Odin's Odin's Power will grow daily, and in order to balance his ever-increasing Odin's Power, Odin will periodically enter Odin Sleep."
Noah began to tell Thor about Odin Sleep. But then again, Noah thought that not many people should know about Odin Sleep, right? Otherwise, Asgard's enemies would probably seize this opportunity to launch an attack on Asgard. But Thor probably wouldn't dwell on how he knew about it, right?
"Really? My father isn't dead!"
As soon as Thor heard that his father wasn't dead, his face instantly lit up with joy. He didn't even have time to wonder why Noah knew about Odin Sleep, and Jane, beside him, also felt happy for Thor.
"But you still can't lift your hammer. Don't get too happy too soon." Noah, seeing Thor so happy, said something to dampen his spirits.
Sure enough, with that one sentence, Thor's excitement dissipated. He then began to recount his experience: how he arrogantly started a war, caused his friends to be injured, disrupted the peace of the Nine Realms, and stirred up conflict, and was subsequently banished by his father.
Indeed, Noah recalled Thor at the beginning of the movie, constantly talking about starting wars, which angered Odin. Odin still wanted to hand over the throne to him. If he became the King of Asgard, he would surely turn the Nine Realms upside down. Odin decisively kicked Thor to Earth first, to temper his character.
But it was indeed quite effective. After Thor arrived on Earth and spent a few days with Jane and the two others, his temper became much more stable. It was clear that this short period on Earth had greatly changed Thor, making him understand his own mistakes. Is this the power of love? Noah wondered.
"So, your father banished you to Earth and sealed your power to train you? To make you recognize your mistakes?" Noah pretended to deduce Odin's reasons for his actions, taking the opportunity to remind Thor.
"What? Is that how it was? My father was testing me, not really abandoning me?"
Noah couldn't explain some things too clearly, or people would suspect why he knew so much. So, after Thor recounted his experience, he pretended to deduce the reason why Odin banished Thor.
And when Thor heard what Noah said, his expression changed again, becoming joyful. Why hadn't he thought of this? Sure enough, his King would not abandon him.
Although it was only from Noah's mouth, Thor wasn't sure if it was true, but Thor was willing to believe that what Noah said was the truth. Of course, he was unwilling to believe that his King would truly abandon him.
'Oh no, this guy isn't going to get too carried away and stop growing, is he?' Noah looked at Thor's expression and felt like he might have been too direct, worried that Thor would get complacent and forget the meaning of his father sending him here, even though he didn't know it in the first place.
"Thor, don't get too happy too soon. The fact that you still can't lift Mjolnir proves that your father isn't satisfied yet. You should experience life on Earth for a while. I see you have a good relationship with this friend of yours." Noah interrupted Thor's excitement, pouring cold water on him, directly stating that he wasn't ready yet and should stay on Earth for now.
Jane, who had been listening to their conversation in a daze from the beginning, suddenly heard Noah mention her and looked up in surprise.
"Jane is a good girl. Also, thank you for reminding me of those things."
Thor glanced at Jane, then spoke to Noah. Noah was about to speak when Coulson's voice came from the doorway.
"Noah, Mr. Thor and Ms. Jane's friends are here to see them," Coulson said after opening the door.
"Thor, it must be Erik. I left him a message earlier. Let's go out and see."
When Jane heard Coulson say someone was looking for them, she immediately thought of Erik. Because earlier, when Thor went to get his hammer, she had left Erik a message, worried something might happen. Now Erik should have arrived. Jane pulled Thor, and they walked out together, with Noah following.
"Jane, are you alright?"
Erik was not well after receiving Jane's message. He had emphasized to Jane before that S.H.I.E.L.D. was a very dangerous organization. One of his friends (Banner?) had disappeared after coming into contact with S.H.I.E.L.D.. He hadn't expected Jane to secretly come to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Base without telling him. This made him extremely anxious. Jane was the daughter of his old friend, and if anything happened to Jane, he wouldn't be able to face his old friend.
"I'm fine, Erik."
Jane pulled Thor to Erik's side. Thor smiled and greeted Erik, but Erik's gaze towards Thor was not very friendly. He felt that this guy must have deceived Jane and brought her to such a dangerous place.
However, Erik didn't start blaming Thor there. He looked at Coulson, realizing that Coulson was the highest-ranking person in charge here. Although he didn't know what Jane and Thor had done, he planned to plead for them first, to see if the other party would be lenient.
And Coulson, being skilled at reading expressions, immediately knew what Erik wanted to do, so he spoke before Erik could.
"Mr. Erik, you're here to pick up Ms. Jane and Mr. Thor, aren't you?"
"Oh, um, yes." Erik hadn't expected him to say that and was a bit taken aback.
"We will not prevent Ms. Jane and Mr. Thor from leaving. Also, I think we had some unpleasant minor misunderstandings today. We will send these devices back later."
After learning that Jane might be related to Thor, Coulson wanted to return those items. Even if they couldn't build a good relationship, they should at least not make enemies, otherwise, their relationship with Thor would be difficult to manage in the future.
Erik was somewhat surprised to hear this. He wondered what had happened that would make this mysterious S.H.I.E.L.D. return the items to them. Jane was very happy to hear this news. These devices and data were her hard work, and she was naturally delighted to get them back.
"Really? Then Jane, let's go."
Erik decided not to pursue the reason why the other party was doing this. He felt it was better to leave quickly.
Thor said a few words to Noah before leaving.
"Wizard, I haven't asked your name yet."
"Noah."
"Okay, Noah, thank you for reminding me of those things. You, Thor, have made a friend for life."
Finally, the three drove away from the Base under the watchful eyes of Noah and Coulson.
After returning, Erik invited Thor to a bar for a drink. He wanted to take the opportunity to get Thor away from Jane, as he was worried Thor would harm Jane. Of course, after a round of drinking, Thor carried a drunken Erik back to their temporary residence.
When Jane opened the door, she was startled by the two of them. Thor was carrying Erik, and Jane thought Thor had beaten Erik. Later, she learned that they had gone to a bar to drink, and Erik ended up like that. She was a bit helpless and helped Thor get Erik to his own bed. Looking at Erik still mumbling about wanting to drink, Jane felt that he would definitely suffer tomorrow morning.
After dealing with Erik, Jane glanced at Thor. She had many things she wanted to ask him: about magic, the Bifrost Bridge, about himself, and about Asgard. These were all new things she had encountered tonight, and she was incredibly curious. As a researcher, how could she not be curious about the unknown presented before her?
However, she felt a bit awkward asking. Thor sensed that Jane had something to say, so he spoke first:
"Jane, thank you for being with me today. Let's go outside, so we don't disturb Erik."
Afterward, Thor and Jane began to have a heart-to-heart talk by the campfire outside. Thor also told Jane many things about Asgard, satisfying her curiosity. The two talked like this all night.
This was Thor's second night on Earth. He had made new friends, and he was starting to feel a strange sensation towards this girl named Jane. Thor suddenly felt that being a mortal wasn't so bad after all?
Meanwhile, at the meteorite crater, after the three left, Coulson inquired about the intruder and Thor.
"Noah, were you injured in your confrontation with Loki just now?" Coulson looked at Noah, who appeared completely unharmed, and his clothes seemed quite tidy, seemingly without injury. However, he still had to ask, just in case Loki had some strange abilities?
"Coulson, I'm fine."
Noah nodded to Coulson, indicating he was fine. Then, Noah briefly described the situation with Thor and his brother.
