Chapter 64: The simulation ends, surpassing One Piece
On June 16, 1519, you arrived at Marineford once again aboard the Pluto. This was the heart of the entire naval organization, home to 100,000 elite marines—a force formidable enough to rival the crews of the Four Emperors.
In the main square, the navy's three admirals and the headquarters' vice admirals, led by Garp, had already gathered by the execution platform. Under everyone's gaze, you donned your iron armor and mask aboard the Pluto. For the Pineapple Pirates, this was an all-out war. The Revolutionary Army had also committed a large number of troops, led by Dragon himself and including Chief of Staff Sabo and commanders Morley, Lindbergh, and Karasu.
The ensuing battle was incredibly fierce. Thanks to the combined might of the Pineapple Pirates and the Revolutionary Army, the intimidating power of the Pluto, and the all-out efforts of Roger, you successfully forced Fleet Admiral Sengoku to yield. You saved Ace and won the war. In the battle, Admiral Akainu lost an arm and was severely wounded, and Marine Headquarters itself was nearly destroyed.
On June 18, 1519, this sudden battle shook the entire world. You were hailed by Morgans as the Fifth Emperor of the Sea, a figure whose power was said to rival the former Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and the master of the ancient weapon Pluto. A new bounty was instantly issued for your head: 3.5 billion berries, earning you the nickname "Iron Man."
At the end of June 1519, after meeting with Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army, on the island of Baltigo, you agreed to a full cooperation. The Revolutionary Army would assist you in overthrowing the tyrannical rule of the Celestial Dragons, who dominated the World Government.
From June 1519 to April 1522, your influence expanded rapidly over the course of three years. With the exception of a few holdouts in the North Blue, you liberated all the nations in the East, South, and West Blues. The Germa Kingdom, the scientific powerhouse of the North Blue, also came under your wing. Furthermore, you now commanded several powerful affiliated crews, such as the Red Pineapple Pirates led by Capone Bege and the Blue Pineapple Pirates led by the gluttonous Jewelry Bonney. Your influence had clearly surpassed that of the Four Emperors.
Of course, it was not just your influence that had grown, but your strength as well. Not only had you constructed second and third Pluto-class battleships, but Franky had also helped you craft a large number of Iron Man suits. Almost every key member of your crew had one, and your Zoan-type Devil Fruit unit had reached nearly 3,000 members. It was safe to say that even if the Whitebeard and Red Hair Pirates, the strongest of the Four Emperors, joined forces against you, you would not be afraid.
In June 1522, you led your fleet on an attempt to circumnavigate the globe, aiming for the final island, Laugh Tale. Your first destination was Fishman Island. Within the island's Sea Forest, you found Joy Boy's letter of apology to the Mermaid Princess of that era. Nearby was the first of the four red Road Poneglyphs—the signposts to Laugh Tale—which you dutifully copied.
In July 1522, you went after the second Road Poneglyph, which was in the hands of Charlotte Linlin, one of the Four Emperors. When your three Pluto-class warships appeared off the coast of Whole Cake Island, even an Emperor of the Sea like Big Mom had no choice but to hand over her Poneglyph.
In September 1522, you arrived in Wano Country. Kaido, another of the Four Emperors, was entrenched on the nearby island of Onigashima. Compared to Big Mom, Kaido was far less willing to negotiate, but he too was miserably defeated by your overwhelming power. You obtained the third Road Poneglyph from him.
In November 1522, you found Zunesha, the giant walking elephant, at sea. You entered the Whale Forest on its back and found the final Road Poneglyph hidden within the Whale Tree. With this, you had collected all the Poneglyphs leading to the final island.
In March 1523, after nine months of searching, you finally reached the last island the Log Pose pointed to: Lodestar Island. Here, both the compass and the Log Pose went haywire, spinning wildly. Through an inscription on Lodestar, you determined that Laugh Tale, the island holding the One Piece, lay at the intersection point indicated by the four Road Poneglyphs.
In April 1523, after another month of searching, you finally reached that intersection. Here, the ocean currents seemed to converge, and a cascading waterfall appeared at the edge of your sight. Everyone on board cheered. This had to be Laugh Tale.
[At the bottom of the reverse waterfall, you found a small island. Roger confirmed that this was the place.]
On the island, you read the history of the Void Century and learned the truth behind the great treasure. Nine hundred years ago, a spaceship from outer space crashed into the sea. The aliens themselves were not powerful, but they had nurtured a special race: the Demons. The Demons looked very similar to humans, and by utilizing a special factor within them, the aliens were able to create Devil Fruits that granted them magical powers.
However, the spaceship's crash left the aliens on board severely injured. Some Demons escaped, while others seized the opportunity to kill their masters and claim the spaceship. There, they learned some of the aliens' technology and used it to craft three ancient weapons, quickly establishing themselves in this world. Under the leadership of their chieftain, they began calling themselves gods and enslaved the world's native inhabitants.
To consolidate their rule, these ruling Demons began to mimic the aliens, raising their former compatriots in captivity and extracting their demonic factors to create Devil Fruits for their own use. They even used these factors to conduct gigantification experiments on humans.
Joy Boy, the author of the Poneglyph, was one of these captive Demons. To resist the oppression, he escaped his cage with several of his fellow captives. He joined forces with the equally enslaved humans and led twenty human kings in a rebellion that nearly wiped out the oppressive Demon tribe.
[Faced with the threat of death, the Demon leader begged the Twenty Kings for mercy. He promised them eternal life using the power of the Op-Op Fruit, on the condition that they let him live.]
Tempted by the allure of eternal life, the twenty human kings were swayed. They broke their alliance with Joy Boy and turned on him and his kin. They subsequently established a new world government on the ruins of the former Demon kingdom.
The descendants of these Twenty Kings would later become the Celestial Dragons. Joy Boy and his kin became the legendary D. clan, whose destiny was to avenge this great betrayal.
[Of course, the Demon leader only partially fulfilled his promise. Since the Op-Op Fruit could only grant immortality once, he used it on one of the kings—the one who would become the Celestial Dragon King, Im. As compensation, Im promised the other nineteen kings that their descendants would be granted supreme status for all time.]
Joy Boy and the surviving members of the D. clan arrived on this final island and carved this history onto a Poneglyph to mock the faithless humans. Other details were scattered on stone tablets across the Grand Line. Only by collecting them all could the full truth of history be revealed.
The so-called "One Piece" was, in the end, a simple smiley-face mask with Joy Boy's name written on it: Joy Boy, The King of Comedy.
Looking at this dusty history, you couldn't help but laugh. So this is the legendary great treasure? How ridiculous. The name Laugh Tale truly fit.
After reading the history of the Void Century, you lost all respect for the Celestial Dragons. You copied this final historical account and then left Laugh Tale. You had achieved the title: Pirate King.
In May 1523, news of your ascension as the second Pirate King spread across the seas. A month later, you met with Dragon again in Baltigo and revealed the truth behind the Void Century. Leveraging the influence of the Revolutionary Army, this darkly humorous story quickly spread throughout the world. Every pirate soon knew that the legendary Laugh Tale was exactly what its name implied. Perhaps this marked the end of the Great Age of Pirates.
In July 1523, you issued a proclamation against the Celestial Dragons to the entire world. Unexpectedly, in addition to your allies in the Revolutionary Army, you also received pledges of support from the Red Hair and Whitebeard Pirates. Even the Navy remained silent, their inaction a tacit endorsement of the Celestial Dragons' rule.
In August 1523, you led the three great pirate crews to Mary Geoise, the holy land of the Celestial Dragons. Three Pluto-class ships lined up and began bombarding the city. Finally, when Im arrived, armed with the ancient weapon Uranus and accompanied by the Five Elders, you engaged in a difficult battle but ultimately emerged victorious. At Mary Geoise, you executed the vast majority of the Celestial Dragons, sparing only a few who had shown some kindness. Their fate was not much better, however; they would spend the rest of their lives in prison.
[Finally, standing before a deserted Mary Geoise, you used the ancient weapon Uranus to blast open the Red Line, bringing the four seas together. From that day on, there was no longer a distinction between the East, West, North, and South Blues; there was only the All Blue.]
In November 1523, the New World Government was established, and the Navy declared its allegiance. As the new Pirate King, you became the first leader of the New World Government, beginning a long reign. The Great Pirate Era officially ended. (Legend Level +1)
[December 1523 - March 1556: Under your rule, the world was transformed. People lived and worked in peace, and the frantic rush to the sea had ended. Roger was rather unhappy about this, often grumbling that a true man belonged on the sea.]
In March 1556, you passed away peacefully, surrounded by your wife and children.
[Simulation ends.]
