Lucas returned to his penthouse at midnight, the city below still alive with muted lights and distant hums. As he stepped inside, the silence of the vast space contrasted with the energy outside. " Honey…what kept you so long?, I was worried", Amanda anxiously asked,
" Darling, I was stuck in traffic that's the reason I arrived home so late", Lucas tiredly answered,
" You should have at least informed me, I was so worried about you I thought something bad had happened to you"
" I'm sorry I didn't give you a call", Lucas apologized,
" Let's go upstairs, you need to take your shower and get some rest", Amanda said,
" Alright my love"
Lucas, weary and unsteady, leaned heavily on his wife's arm as she guided him step by step towards the staircase. With quiet patience, she matched his pace.
" There we go", Amanda said, as she placed her tired husband on the bed,
" I need some massage darling, my joints ache a lot"
" I will give you a massage but you need to take your shower first"
" I feel so lazy to go to the restroom, will you help me out darling?", Lucas asked,
" Why act like a big baby?... Hahahaha", Amanda teased,
"You are teasing me again, remember what happened the last time you teased me"
" And what if I want you to punish me the way you did the last time I teased you?"
" So you want Daddy to teach you a lesson?"
" If daddy is capable of teaching me a lesson then I'll keep being disobedient cause I want to be punished", Amanda replied,
" You really know how to upset me…. don't ask me to stop cause I'm going to make sure I discipline you without mercy"
" I'm ready to receive the torture from you Daddy", amanda said,
" You asked for it…don't say I didn't warn you", Lucas carried his wife in his arms and took her to the restroom,
Lucas pulls his wife into the steaming shower, water cascading over them as he kisses her with fierce urgency. " You are Daddy's dominant good baby girl. If you keep being obedient I will always give you candies and you know what I mean"
" Honey, I have a question to ask "
" What question darling?"
" When will you be traveling to Miami?"
" Why asking darling?", Lucas asked,
" Well, I will be happy to join you for the business trip I really miss traveling with you", Amanda answered,
" Oh!.. about the business trip to Miami. I forgot to inform you it has been postponed darling", Lucas lied,
" Why? What happened?... Did anything go wrong?", Amanda anxiously asked,
" I haven't gotten a response yet", Lucas answered,
" Darling, I'm tired and I will get some rest cause tomorrow is another day I have a board meeting to attend", Lucas said, he yawned and went to sleep,
" Goodnight honey, sleep well", Amanda placed a gentle kiss on Lucas's forehead and went to sleep.
Miguel drove Annabella home and pulled up in front of her place. The air between them carried a quiet mix of comfort and hesitation. He waited as she gathered her things, offering a soft smile. Annabella thanked him, stepped out, and with one last look, headed inside….leaving Miguel behind with his own unspoken thoughts.
