Chapter 99 - 99

Renoli, Kyle, and the Prophet watched Lacey continuously muttering.

"Will this really work?"

"I don't know."

"It can't be…"

The three of them discussed while observing Sonia, hoping to glean some useful information from her.

However, Sonia's expression remained unchanged, still maintaining a smiling demeanor, which prevented them from finding any useful information.

So, the three of them could only continue to look at the precepts and doctrines on the stone tablet and ponder them themselves.

Unconsciously, several hours passed.

Sonia received news that the chefs had arrived on the island.

"I still have some matters to attend to. If you are willing to believe, you may stay. If not, you may leave the island on your own."

With that, Sonia looked at them, said her piece, and then withdrew.

Lacey watched Sonia leap directly from the temple, landing on a tree below, effortlessly dissipating the force, and then swiftly departing. Her gaze became even more resolute.

The other three could clearly see Sonia's movements. From the strength Sonia displayed, it wasn't very strong.

However, they dared not underestimate Sonia, as the person behind Sonia was Void God Kassadin.

"What do we do now?"

"It's been several hours, and we still can't think of a good strategy."

Kyle said with a helpless expression.

"What kind of actions can express one's piety? I have no ideas."

"If we keep dragging this on, we might not be among the first to join after today."

Renoli couldn't help but feel a little anxious.

"Don't worry, it's not a bad thing if others come."

"The test usually looks at one's character. Let's stay here for a day or two and see."

"Since you're here, have a little more patience."

The Prophet said calmly, seeing that the two of them were already becoming impatient.

The two exchanged glances and nodded.

Lacey also didn't know what to do, so she could only keep muttering her desire to receive Void's Blessing.

Sonia first went to the harbor, settled the chefs in, and explained Mr. Kassadin's five daily meal times to them.

Afterward, she returned to the Villa.

"Mr. Kassadin, the chefs have arrived. You can have your meal in about an hour."

Sonia approached within a few meters of Mr. Kassadin, who was sitting on the balcony looking into the distance, and spoke.

"Hmm, and you've done very well."

Harvey nodded slightly upon hearing this.

"Thank you for your praise, Mr. Kassadin, but what should be done with those people now?"

"Should they just be left alone?"

Sonia, after responding to the praise, couldn't help but ask softly, concerned.

"In the future, when others arrive, you can simply tell them what you told these people."

"Whether they are pious enough, I will know myself."

Harvey said upon hearing this.

As for his judgment standard, it was naturally whether the system had sent a notification.

According to his experience, to pass the system's judgment standard, the target needed to be curious about the Void, genuinely respect the Void from the bottom of their heart, and harbor aspirations for the Void.

Lacey had actually already passed the system's judgment over an hour ago; she was currently just waiting for his permission.

And those three super-powered individuals were also waiting for his permission.

The reason Harvey hadn't immediately granted permission was that he was observing the character of those three super-powered individuals.

These three super-powered individuals were different from weak people who longed for power to change their lives; they already possessed considerable strength.

If they gained the Void's power, their strength would undoubtedly advance further. If their character was prone to combativeness and destruction, it would cause some trouble.

Harvey didn't want to clean up messes caused by these instructors after becoming their nanny, so their character needed to undergo some testing.

And this test was to gauge their patience. People who were impatient were prone to causing major trouble on impulse.

"Alright, then you can call me if anything comes up."

Sonia saw that Mr. Kassadin already had a plan for this matter, so she didn't ask further and instead went to the kitchen.

Time unconsciously arrived at evening. The few people had arrived in the morning, and now they were both thirsty and hungry.

"It's been half a day. We're thirsty and hungry now. Let's find something to eat first."

Renoli felt his stomach growl and spoke.

"I do want to find something to eat, but can we hunt here?"

Kyle also felt tempted upon hearing this, but on Void God Kassadin's territory, he still didn't dare to act recklessly.

"We can't hunt, but we can fish in the sea, right?"

Renoli said somewhat speechlessly, seeing Kyle's desire to eat but also his timidity.

"That's right. Lacey, do you want something to eat?"

Kyle immediately reacted upon hearing this, then looked at Lacey, who was kneeling on the ground, still continuously whispering prayers even though her lips were already chapped from thirst.

"Hmm, thank you. This thousand coins will be my gratitude."

Lacey opened her eyes upon hearing this, reached into her pocket, and proactively pulled out a thousand coins, speaking.

This thousand coins would certainly be enough for them to bring back some food for her.

Kyle was about to say it was just a small matter and no money was needed, but before he could speak, he saw the Prophet shaking his head at him.

"Then you wait here. We'll be back very soon."

Kyle understood, reached out, and took the money from Lacey's hand.

In the past, when he interacted with Lacey, taking a small advantage was enough, but this time, having taken the money, he felt it wouldn't be right to do so.

Subsequently, only Lacey remained in the temple, while the other three left first to find food.

"Prophet, we've known Lacey for several years. At the very least, we're friends."

"Why did you still take her money?"

Kyle asked as he ran towards the harbor with the Prophet on his back.

"The three of us came here wanting to pledge allegiance to Kassadin and join the Void God Cult."

"But Lacey came here longing for power."

The Prophet paused upon hearing this, saying with a somewhat complex expression.

"Is there a difference between the two?"

Kyle pondered for a moment upon hearing these words, then asked with a puzzled expression.

"Idiot, the difference is that if our attempt to pledge allegiance fails, at most we can just go back. No matter what, we are super-powered individuals."

"Lacey came here longing for power. If she doesn't get power, I'm afraid she won't be willing to go back."

Renoli also understood the Prophet's meaning and spoke directly, seeing Kyle's foolishness.

"I see."

Kyle fully understood upon hearing this.

Immediately, as the three talked and arrived at the harbor, they happened to see four people disembarking onto the island.

"This is My Lord Kassadin's island, it's so big!"

"Stop talking nonsense, hurry to the temple and see if we can pay our respects to My Lord Kassadin."

"Let's go, let's go!"

As soon as they disembarked, they started running along the road.

"Wait a moment."

Renoli heard their respectful address for Kassadin, his heart stirred, and he instantly flashed to block their path.
