Chapter 4 - Marine and Commodore

"FOR THE GRAND NAVY! FOR JUSTICE!"

Percy's voice keep wandering in Derrick's ears.

"Enough! I know the speech was brilliant. But must you keep repeating this while we are on the lines?" Derrick ranted at Percy while looking at others with shame. "Sorry sorry! My friend was a bit enthusiastic. "

"Derrick, couldn't you be more relaxing? Admiral Don's speech is deeply attached to my heart, every words of his touched every part of my body, like how the sand buries a stone." Percy gushed continuously.

"Next!" A woman voice came from a distance.

"Are these people really trying to become navy? They don't even able to read words, or even the least, an experience of working on the ship!"

"Silence, Commander Abigail. I am here to see potential recruits. Also, is not like everyone are born with talents and skills." Man's tone was measured, cutting through her frustration.

"B-but Vos… I can't help worrying about this batch," she muttered, fiddling with her hands.

"This is not your thing to worry about, just do your job." Vos pressed.

"Fine, Mister Vos…"

Vos's eyes narrowed. "Commodore Vos, during formal occasions."

"..."

"Hmmm?"

 "...Commodore Vos."

As the talks ended, Derrick walks into the room.

"What a luxurious room." He thought.

When Derrick is still looking around, Vos spoke out.

"You may sit down."

"My bad, was admiring the room badly. Couldn't control myself you know." He explained.

"Tch, hillbilly." Abigail scoffed.

Derrick ignored Abigail's scoffing and pulled the chair.

"My name is Derrick Choi. It's an honor to meet you, Commodore."

"The honor is mine, Derrick. I am Commodore Vos, the person in charge of Silverhold. I am responsible for most of the work in here." Vos stated.

After that, he point his finger to the wall's painting.

"His majesty, is the king of Grand Navy, our biggest leader. Without him, the navies aren't even a thing." He said.

Derrick nodded.

"Therefore, I have to let you know. Entering the Grand Navy means you devote everything you own to His Majesty. Once you are in the Grand Navy, you couldn't leave it at your own will. You understood?"

Derrick began to hesitate, twitching his mouth.

He thought of Mr. Roberto's kindness in giving him a place to live. However, if it wasn't Mr. Roberto to save him, he wouldn't surviving in this tough world!

Thinking of this, a hint of determination flashed in his eyes with a purple glow appeared in his black pupils. But in just a moment, the glow disappeared again.

"Commodore Vos, I—Derrick Choi, devote myself to the Grand Navy!"

"Well speech! From now on, you are a part of the Grand Navy. Your number is 4301, you can find your uniforms at the corresponding room name. You may leave now." Vos looked at Derrick with satisfaction.

"Thank you very much, Commodore Vos."

After saying that, he walked towards the door and left the room.

"He is quite an interesting guy, isn't it, Abigail?"

"Next!"
