Did I wait and check to see if the snakes had tried to kill the beetle? Nope! For all that I have been through, I do not want to be forced to try to fight these snakes if they somehow notice me. I have already been through enough conflicts as it is; I just want to do my own thing until I deem it that I should get back to whatever it was that I wanted to do.
Not only that, but that fight against that beetle taught me a couple of things that I needed to do. The first is to never try and use those coconut things as a practice weapon. I noticed one key detail that made me want to punch myself for being so dumb.
One of the reasons why the urchin was in my area was because of those coconut things. Then, for obvious reasons, that beetle would have as well. But the question is how it is that that thing was able to find my area. I have tossed away any of those coconut things each time I used them as my practice weapons...
Then I realized right there and then why that beetle went to my area. Even though I threw those things away, there are a few things that I had forgotten and didn't mind at all.
The first is the fact that, out of sheer annoyance and the need for a practice weapon, I used those coconut things. Then I accidentally threw away a few broken ones into the forest, thinking that the monkeys would just eat them. I should have realized that the urchin from before was enticed by the coconut things, even though those weren't damaged or beaten up by me.
So, my throwing them towards the forest would only mean that something would have definitely picked up the scent of it and investigated, only to find what must have been a tasty snack for these oversized and small beings. Then, of course, once they get it, they would then go to where there might be more, and of course, that's how that beetle arrived...I hate myself sometimes.
Now that I have realized what the cause of such a thing I can't help but be a bit nervous if anything from the sea would come to this place and investigate just where those tasty morsels keep on coming. I really need a new way to dispose of those things...Actually, I might have to leave that area if this keeps up. Heck, there is even a trail leading to it now.
I mean, I am using it to get back to my home. It may be a bit useful, but this is also a bad thing because it wouldn't keep my lair hidden like I wanted it to be.
I could maybe try and hide the trail, but with how long it is, I simply didn't even want to waste my time doing so.
So I will just have to check whether or not I will have to relocate to a new spot or stay; either way, this has also taught me something else. I might be in the middle class when it comes to being strong in this world. Why would I say that? Well, the Eel I didn't even kill, the urchin was a hard but doable, the spider was a lucky one, and lastly the beetle...Well, I don't know if those snakes even killed it, so yeah. I am of average strength.
Even with my weapons, I might just be able to tackle a few of um, but only a few, since the rest would be able to smash me easily as they could.
That beetle really messed me up quite a bit.
That's not the only thing that it has messed up, as I finally arrived at my area, and of course, it was a mess of shattered trees and animals picking up whatever scraps of those coconut things they could get while fleeing the area. Those animals only fled faster as they saw me, which only caused quite a lot of panic among them.
This made me feel a sort of Deja vu as I recall seeing this sort of chaos during the time that pile of those coconut things caused a war between the Monkeys and Birds...which was quite bloody, not gonna lie. But this time, the scene before me looked like one of those riots I sort of remember. The looting, hitting, and the overall chaos that ensued.
Some didn't even leave the area, too busy chewing on a coconut thing's piece in their mouth. This is really a mess and a half. Some sort of scientist or researcher would want to collect this sort of data. Or be horrified at just how seemingly chaotic it is when it comes to food. I guess with how dangerous the jungle is, they would have to take advantage of quite a lot of things.
I waited a few more minutes until the last of the animals left. With only the ones persisting to chew on a piece still being left, I simply paid them no mind as I assessed the damage.
It was bad, with how much of the vegetation had been toppled off, as well as a gaping trail leading to it and the path towards the snakes. I feared that this place would not be suitable for me to live in.
Just when I was getting used to this place. Such a waste of time and resources.
At this point, I am contemplating whether I should leave or stay. With how many the stuff I had to fight in this area, it might be best to search for a good place to become a new lair. But what would happen if it's only gotten worse than that? What a conundrum.
Well, I have yet to check out the lower parts. Maybe those weren't destroyed.
So with that, I headed towards the entrance of my cave.
As I arrived there, I was a bit happy by the fact that it wasn't disturbed or anything like that. Even found my shield, which only made me happy.
With my mood a bit lighter than it was just a moment ago. I proceeded to head towards the entrance which wasn't disturbed at all just a few things out of place that's all. Further down the sand walls seem to have held on for a bit but I did noticed a few that were a bit off from where they were which means that I will have to reinforced it later on if I did want to stay in that area for long.
Maybe just for the night, at least some of the food stuff I put in storage weren't disturbed as such I ate a few and call it nights out for now.
