Chapter 3 - 3: Questions to Yu Xiaogang's Soul

"Little San, I'm taking you to Nuo Ding Academy for school." Old Jack's voice echoed into the blacksmith shop.

Tang San quickly ran out of the room. It turned out that before the school year started, Tang Hao had found Old Jack and asked him to find a way for Tang San to go. Old Jack had managed to secure another scholarship spot for Tang San from a neighboring village.

Just before sunset, Old Jack, along with Ye Yin and Tang San, arrived in front of Nuo Ding Academy. As expected, they were stopped by the young gate guard. Ye Yin knew this was the scene where Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang would appear to take a disciple.

The young gate guard looked them over with disdain. "What are you doing? Is this a place for you country bumpkins to come?"

Old Jack quickly explained that the two boys were working students and showed him their certificates from Spirit Hall.

A look of surprise crossed the gate guard's face. "The precious pearl is fine," he said, looking at Ye Yin's certificate. "But since when did Blue Silver Grass have spirit power? This must be fake."

Old Jack immediately grew anxious. As they went back and forth, Tang San suddenly pushed the young gate guard, who stumbled and fell.

Ye Yin's voice rang out, a little too cheerfully, "Big brother, are you… kidney deficient? How could you fall from such a light push?"

Resentment from Zhao Tie +18!

"What nonsense are you spouting?!" The gate guard, Zhao Tie, was furious. He raised his hand, intending to hit Ye Yin.

"I can cure…" Ye Yin started.

Zhao Tie's arm, which had been raised to strike, slowly lowered. A highly fawning smile appeared on his face. "A divine doctor? Is that true?!"

Ye Yin chuckled. "I haven't finished speaking yet. I was going to say, 'It's impossible for me to cure it!'"

Resentment from Zhao Tie +55!

"You dare to mess with me? You're asking to die!" Zhao Tie roared, raising his hand once again.

"Enough, stop it." A hoarse voice suddenly spoke, halting Zhao Tie's movements.

Zhao Tie's expression changed. He quickly lowered his hand and turned to face Yu Xiaogang with a fawning smile. "Grandmaster, you're back."

Yu Xiaogang nodded, scolded Zhao Tie briefly, then led Ye Yin and Tang San into Nuo Ding Academy.

Tang San and Yu Xiaogang began to talk, and the conversation naturally turned to the subject of apprenticeship. Yu Xiaogang finally asked, "I wonder if you would be willing to let me be your teacher?"

Tang San didn't answer right away.

Ye Yin, seeing another opportunity, stepped in. "Grandmaster, Tang San has innate full spirit power. May I ask what level of innate spirit power you had?"

Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +22!

Ye Yin continued, a stream of questions tumbling out. "What level are you now? What is your Spirit? Are you called 'Grandmaster' out of respect or because you have published a widely recognized theory? Grandmaster, why aren't you speaking, Grandmaster? Are you naturally not fond of talking?"

Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +25!

Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +28!

Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +30!

Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +35!

Yu Xiaogang's resentment points kept refreshing on Ye Yin's system panel. In just this short time, Ye Yin had earned at least one hundred points from him.

Tang San shook his head at Yu Xiaogang. "It seems you are not worthy of being my teacher. Ye Yin, let's go register."

Tang San and Ye Yin began walking toward the academic affairs office. Yu Xiaogang reached out, as if to stop Tang San. "Tang… Tang San…"

Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +55!

Yu Xiaogang clenched his fist. Why are Ye Yin's questions so insidious? How am I supposed to answer them? Every single question is unanswerable! No matter what, I must take Tang San as my disciple; only a twin spirits possessor can prove the correctness of my theory!

Ye Yin and Tang San completed their registration and went to Dormitory Seven together. They could hear Wang Sheng and the others making a commotion inside.

Ye Yin knocked on the door, getting everyone's attention. "Listen up, everyone in Dormitory Seven!" he announced. "Tang San said that everyone standing here is trash! From now on, he will be the dorm leader of this dormitory."

Tang San: "???"

"Alright," Wang Sheng said, hitting his fist into his palm. "If you want to be the dorm leader, you'll have to get past me first!"

Tang San didn't want to prove himself to anyone, but now he had no choice but to step forward. "No, I didn't say that," he said, glaring at Ye Yin. "Ye Yin, what are you doing?"

Ye Yin lowered his voice. "Little San, you're strong; I'm weak. Otherwise, I would have stepped forward myself. You don't want people to bully you in the future, do you? You have to let them know you're not an easy target!"

Tang San nodded, agreeing with the logic. "Then…"

Before he could finish his sentence, Ye Yin suddenly shoved him. Tang San, caught off guard, stumbled and fell inside the dorm. He subconsciously tried to use his Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track to steady himself, but his body was still too weak. His knees buckled, and he landed with a thud.

The last part of his unfinished sentence, "...let me be the dorm leader then," came out just as he knelt.

The entire dormitory went silent. Then, it erupted in laughter.

"Hahahahaha!" Wang Sheng roared. "You think that just because you kneel to me, I'll let you be the dorm leader? Little Sanzi, if you kneel, you can only be my dog!"

Resentment from Tang San +20!

Ye Yin chuckled. "Little San, my apologies. I used a little too much force."

Tang San's gaze was fixed on Wang Sheng. "My name is Tang San, not Little Sanzi." He was not a person who liked to cause trouble, but today, this trouble was unavoidable. The general principles of the Tang Sect Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, Article 3, state that if an enemy is determined to be a threat and is seeking death, you must not hold back, or you will only add to your troubles.

Wang Sheng stepped forward and shoved Tang San's shoulder. "What? I'll call you Little Sanzi. Not happy about it?"

Ye Yin shouted at Wang Sheng, "Be careful! Have some sense of proportion! Don't blame me for not warning you when Little San beats you up later."

Wang Sheng scoffed. "Beat me up? Does he even have the strength?"

Tang San quickly got up and placed his uniform on an empty bed. "I see you are already seeking death," he said calmly. His figure flashed, and he swiftly charged toward Wang Sheng, punching him hard in the face.

The punch left Wang Sheng dizzy and disoriented. After a series of rapid exchanges, Wang Sheng was bruised and battered, lying on the ground, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Ye Yin shook his head at Wang Sheng. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. What did I tell you?"

Resentment from Wang Sheng +11!

Tang San's gaze swept across the room. Everyone in the dorm lowered their heads, not daring to say a word.

"We'll be good, please spare us," they said in unison.
