Chapter 49 - Chapter 49

Klein subconsciously fixed his hair and top hat and then felt stupid for doing so as most of his visage would be hidden by the grey fog anyways. He waited impatiently before sending a small signal to little sun and counted till exactly 3'O coock before extending his spirituality to wards the crimson stars, one of it breaking away into his ring.

Klein thrummed his fingers kn the molted bronze table almost impatiently as the vague figures of 4 people appeared in front of him, on their respective positions (yes, he was kinda angry that Amon had to sit entire two seats away from him and was even about to change the seating order to have his wife sit beside him, but that would lead to the other members knowing that he favored Amon more than them and could even start suspecting things- including Amon himself. He couldn't risk that so he just had to live with that.)

Audrey smiled as she felt the grey fog around her and was about to open her mouth and greet Mr. Fool like usual, the job she had taken over since the first tarot gathering. Before she could even mouth 'Good afternoon Mr. Fool~', she was cut in by a man's voice.

"Good afternoon Mr. Fool~!" The unknown man's voice said cheerily and excitedly, making Mr. Fool smile faintly.

Audrey jerked up slightly in alarm as she glanced at the extra figure she had failed to see before. She had been so excited about today's gathering since she had finally digested the Spectator potion that she had completely forgotten to look around her surroundings!

And you call yourself a spectator Audrey?! She mocked herself in her mind.

Alger, Audrey and Derrik all looked at the latest new addition to the tarot club with slight surprise. Especially Alger and Audrey who hadn't expe Ted a new addition this soon... didn't little sun join the gathering just the last week?

Also, Alger coukdnt heo but feel slight apprehension and terror from the newest person. He was slightly confused at first but instantly recognized what this feeling was. The storm pathway was good at detecting high sequence beyonders and particularly powerful beyonders, even if Alger was still just a sequence 7 and not even a mid sequence beyonder the fact that he could sese this guy's aura from the screening effect of this mysterious grey fog was something in and of itself!

Mr. Fool really has some strong followers... Alger suddenly felt shaken in fear as well as deeply awed at being able to be one of the lucky ones to have joined this special gathering during one of the simple attempts.

As he was reading the man's featured from down to up, his eyes suddenly landed on the ring on the man's ring finger. It seemed like Audrey and Derrik had also recognized the ring as they all froze where they stood.

This ring...

Wasn't it exactly the same one Mr. Fool always wore on his ring finger as well?!

They collectively glanced at the end of the long table at the aloof figure of The Fool and couldnt help but realize that Mr. Fool seemed oddly happier today...

Could it be...

Klein couldn't see the suspicious glances from his little cult members as he was trying hard not to give himself and his relationship with Amon away to them, including Amon himself. Instead, he turned to Amon and nodded with a smile as he motioned to him.

"This is the newest member of this gathering, Mr. Lover."

Mr. Lover...

Suddenly Alger, Audrey and Little Sun concluded the relationship between The Fool and the newest member of their gathering Mr. Lover.

Didn't that mean Mr. Fool was gay?

They refused to think much about it since that would be blasphemy!

"Good afternoon everyone! I'm Mr. Lover or Mr. Lovers, whatever you decide to call me." Amon introduced himself with a smile.

Derrick nodded to himself, Mr. Lover seems like a kind and gentle soul. No wonder he is the betrothed of The Fool. Although he was a bit confused about same sex relationships since relationships in general were rare and illegal after a certain age where one must be married to their allotted partners he didn't think much of it. Just like there wasn't much taught in the city of silver about straight relationships, not much was ridiculed about gay relationships as well aside from the fact that they wouldn't be able to continue their already wilting population.

Audrey smiled at Mr. Lover as she introduced herself as well politely. Although she had had many delusions in the past where she would be able to stealthily assert dominance over the newer members of the tarot as she was one of the first members of the gathering as well as the one who had named the club- but how dare she could even think of showing some kind of superiority in front of Mr. Tool's lover?!

One by one, the rest of the members followed Audrey's example and greeted Mr. Fool and then the newest member Mr. Lover.

Finally, after the greetings were done and the members were seated, Klein finally realised that there were other people around him and smiled nonchalantly like he hadn't just forgotten that fact, he turned to little sun and smiled, "Congratulations Mr. Bard."

Derrick lowered his head and replied humbly, "This is all due to your assistance. This is but the beginning."

He wasn't surprised that The Fool knew that he had consumed the potion.

Ah... my little cult... so obedient... Klein nodded to himself with a smile. Was this fake game of pretend getting to his head? Probably (answer- yes,). Now he understood why people online back on earth pretended to be fake celebrities or important people. The clout and cheers were addicting...

Klein's mind was suddenly struck with the scene of a certain Mr. Lover also obediently by his knees-

Stop!

Klein quickly willed the images out of his mind.

He couldn't get hard during his cult gathering...! Especially with someone as innocent as Little sun present here!

Well, the grey fog and the large table would certainly hide everythunga and anything- but still! It was a prospect of morality!

Audrey clasped her hands together before announcing that she had another page of Roselle's diary as well as had completely digested her Spectator potion with glee.

The Sun nodded before informing her that he had obtained the Telepathist formula as well.

Klein was silently a bit disappointed over that... all this work trying to wring the telepathic potion formula from Daxter only to gets bested by little sun... he had hoped that he could get more compensation (money) and or favours or items from Little Sun in exchange.

But I guess the growth of the exchanges between his little cult members was also some kind of profit...

Well, at least he could now translate the formula for Ms. Justice well and see if the formula was real or not.

Klein watched the way Audrey frowned over the potion formula given to her by The Sun, not finding any of the ingredients there as ones she was acquainted with.

Klein felt that it was his time to shine! Klein sneaked a glance at Amon was sitting on his seat with a smile, this was also the time to impress his wife!

Klein tapped the edge of the table and gestured to Ms. Justice's parchment again, he watched as Ms. Justice looked at him a bit confusedly before glancing back at the potion formula on her hands and her eyes going wide in awe.

She recognized these ingredients! Audrey was stunned at first, then there was an intense surge of delight from the bottom of her heart. "Thank you, Mr. Fool. You're really very knowledgeable." She looked towards the seat of honor as she thanked and sincerely complimented him.

The Hanged Man Alger didn't know what had happened, but he felt extreme contempt towards what Justice had said. How could you describe a godlike figure with the word "knowledgeable"? His existence alone is equivalent to knowledge itself to a certain extent!

Amon observed the thoughts of The Hanged Man while trying not to fall down with laughter.

Ah...

Joining his little fiance's cult was really the best choice.

All his boredom these days seemed to have completely vanished.

Also, trying to act like he couldn't see Klein ogling at him was also quiet fun.

But he knew that the fun was only just about to start!

He would wring all the fun out of his persona as Mr. Lover as he could!

Audrey looked at the Telepathist formula a few times and then reined in her gaze unwillingly. She then personally expressed Roselle's diary onto a page.

"You deserve this." She put down her pen and looked towards the fog-engulfed Fool. "In addition to this, I'll give your adorer another 300. Is 300 pounds okay?"

She sounded a little guilty because the three pages of Roselle's diary only cost her twenty pounds, while the Sheriff formula at Sequence 8 required 450 pounds.

In other words, from the perspective of simple math, she had to pay another 430 pounds on top of the three pages of the diary.

However, Audrey felt that it was thanks to her luck that the seller didn't know the value of Roselle's diary. It allowed her to buy it at a low price.

Emperor Roselle's diary costs at least fifty pounds per page! Audrey held her fist and encouraged herself.

300 pounds? Until today, I've only seen that much money at Sir Deweyville's place… Klein drooled in his mind.

Amon couldn't help but smile at the duality of the strong of thoughts. Oh boy, he would have fun rewatching this particular meeting with his clones after this! It had been a while since their last get together.

Klein sighed and pretended to not be interested in money as he nodded and said, "A reasonable deal.

"This is my adorer's information."

He avoided speaking of terms like "Backlund Bank" and "anonymous account" verbally through The Fool's mouth as they damaged his image. He made them appear on the parchment before her.

Klein had taken time to visit Backlund Bank's Tingen branch last Wednesday while investigating the houses with red chimneys. He had disguised himself and opened an anonymous bank account.

As Klein conjured up his information to Ms. Justice, he couldnt help but realize what he had just said.

His adorer... he had just mentioned his imaginary adorer in front of Amon!

Klein guiltily glanced at Amon, like a husband caught cheating with a dude girl and then couldn't help but want to slap himself for his own stupidity. Amon didn't know that he was The Fool! How could this be cheating!

Amon probably didn't even care about The Fool's adorers and non-existent love life... Klein pouted angrily at that.

'He should be glad that the grey fog hides his expressions...' Amon thought amusedly in his mind.

Klein, who still did not know that his privacy had been stolen away even above the grey fog kept sulking in his mind.
