Chapter 46 - Chapter 46

After the Tarot Gathering ended, Klein didn't immediately leave the mysterious palace above the grey fog but instead decided to spend a little while there and also spy on his little wife.

Klein turned fiddled with the grayish white ring on his ring finger with a smile as a screen appeared in front of him. It showed Amon casually lounging on his sofa with some random romance book he had found Amon liked reading on his lap.

Amon too was playing with his ring.

Ah... to think both of them were playing with their rings while thinking about each other... wasn't this a bit too romantic?! Klein noticed with a blush as he shamelessly spied on his wife. Hey, he wasn't doing anything bad, and it wasn't like Amon was in any state of undress right now either or doing something that shouldn't be see like the first few times.

Klein also played with the ring on his finger just like how Amon was doing it on the screen in the real world.

Then the ring glowed a bright red, like a crimson star scattered around the grey fog which represented the members of the Tarot Clug.

Klein's eyes widened as he felt the grey fog around him surge as another figure appeared in front of him.

The figure was shrouded in the mysterious grey fog but onw could make out that it was a man with black hair and a tall physique, with the curly black hair and monocle on his right eye Klein could instantly recognize the figure as Amon!

Fuck! Did he accidentally summon Amon above the grey fog while playing with the ring?! He shouldn't have done that! He knew that the ring contained a few of the mysterious powers of the grey fog and held a connection to this place, but he hadn't expected it to summon Amon here!

Taking a deep breath, Klein calmed himself down. Yes, Amon was now here above the grey fog with him, that was something he fucked up with. But he still needed to stay calm and think this situation and act accordingly to not make any worse...

Klein fixed his position as the aloof Mr. Fool, the mysterious ruler above the grey fog sitting in the high black chair in a casual sort of way like he was the owner of the place.

Klein observed with a thumping and nervous heart as Amon looked around bewildered for a few seconds, taking in his surroundings carefully without making any brash moves or noises that could endanger him. Klein nodded in his mind about Amon being intelligent enough and careful enough but also couldn't help but cry in his heart that there was no way that Klein could ever hurt Amon! He could trust him and the mysterious palace above the grey fog!

Klein watched Amon as he finally fixed his eyes on the high black chair in front of him with the figure of a cloaked man with a top hat hidden beyond the mist and froze.

"Did you bring me here?" Amon asked in a causal tilt of his tone as he nudged the monocle on his right eye.

"Yes," Klein replied back in his low voice belonging to The Fool. He only answered briefly as he knew that Amon was very sharp and would be able to find mistakes or lies in his speech if he talked too much, it was better to talk less to not allow Amon to decipher his words and to also cement his image as The Fool, a mysterious god above the grey fog. After all, didn't all gods have this image of talking less and mysteriously?

"May I ask why?" Amon asked, not moving from his place.

Klein repeated the words (lies) he had told The Hanged Man and Ms. Justuce the first time he had accidentally called them here. "This is an attempt."

Amon listened quietly to Klein, with a thinking face on. He didn't reply back or question anything further for a while as if thinking something or making some conclusions about the identity of the man in front of him.

"Are you the ruler of this Sefirah?" Amon finally asked.

Sefirah?

This mysterious place above the grey fog is called a Sefirah? Or one of a few Sefirahs? How does Amon know what this place is... well, if I consider the fact that this ring I have has been given to me by Amon from his family's treasury and it contains a connection to the grey fog as proven multiple times including this time, maybe his family is connected to this... 'Sefirah' in some way? Klein thought quickly. Then by that logic... he really was stealing this place from Amon and his family...

Klein tapped the edge of the old molted with his finger as he replied, "Yes,"

"Just as I thought..." Amon murmured under his breath.

Just as you thought...? Just as you thought what?! Klein was dying to know but he kept his mouth shut intelligently.

"May I be rude enough to ask for your name, Mr. Deity?" Amon smiled as he fixed the monocle on his right again.

He's already referring to me as a deity... good. Klein released a sigh of relief. He didn't know what was going on with Amon in his head at the moment, but things seemed to be going in the right direction despite Klein not knowing what was happening.

Now just to not let Amon realize that his husband has started a little cult while pretending to be a god...

"You can call me The Fool." Klein replied casually as he rested his cheek on his hand.

"The Fool... then may I call you Mr. Fool?" Amon replied excitedly and Klein couldn't help but sigh fondly at his wife's actions. He really was so excited and trustworthy... it's good that the evil god he's talking to is me and not an actual evil god. His wife was the cutest...

Suddenly, Klein imaged Amon as a part of his tarot club-

Klein's eyes widened in his mind as he considered this possibility.

Could he...?

It would be very helpful to have Amon join the tarot club, as through it he could figure out more information about Amon's family and his own strength as a Beyonder. This could also help Amon ask for help from others if need and for information, he couldn't get his hands on through his own channels. It was always better to join and talk to other beyonders but many people didn't because of the risk of being endangered, but when the meetings were being held above the grey fog and Amon's identity would be completely hidden and everything would be done under Klein's supervision- there was no way that he couldn't keep Amon safe!

But at the same time... the more he held the Tarot gatherings and not up with Amon above the grey fog, the more the chances that he would realize or figure out that it was Klein who was parading around as The Fool, and as a fake god...

No, the pros definitely outweighed the cons and Klein always considered himself a careful person.

"I have agreed to hold special gatherings of different Beyonders up here every week to help them grow and exchange information and trade. Would you be interested in that?" Klein asked and then immediately slapped himself in his kind. This came out of nowhere! He was so excited with the prospect of adding Amon to his little cult that he made himself seem like an overeager salesperson and a scammer!

Klein looked nervously at Amon through the grey fog as he tried to read his emotions through the thick fog.

"What is this gathering called?"

Asking questions before joining straight away- good, at least Amon had some kind of self-preservation skills.

"They call themselves the Tarot Club, it's still a new gathering so there are only 3 members at the moment." Klein replied, not trying to sound hasty.

"Do they each refer to themselves as a Tarot Card?" Amon asked with an amused tone.

"Yes, just like me, The Fool."

Amon thought for a while before nodding, "I want to join."

Klein secretly heaved a sigh of relief when he heard the reply.

"Good, the gathering is held every Monday afternoon at 3 pm Loen time. Make sure to prepare yourself and stay away from anybody else for that time period." Klein notified as he conjured up a deck of tarot cards in front of him and removed the Fool, hanged man, justice, and sun cards and shuffled them, and placed them in front of Amon.

"Do I pick one?" Amon asked as he browsed the cards with interest.

"Yes."

" Then this one!" Amon said as he picked up a random card.

Klein looked at the card and almost blushed when he saw what card it was-

'The Lovers' card...

"The Lovers huh... I think it suits me!" Amon laughed as he placed back the flipped card in front of him. "Then I'll be Mr. Lovers from now on?"

Klein simply nodded, not trusting his voice to say anything.

Amon clapped his hands in glee as he stepped back a bit and bowed down a bit.

"It's a pleasure to join this gathering under the guidance of the great Mr. Fool." Amon said politely but at the same with his usual mischievous tilt in his voice making Klein smile.

At the same time, Klein couldn't help but want to curl up and die and dig himself a 10-foot grave to bury himself when the realization dawned upon him that he was pretending to be a god in front of Amon and had successfully made him his believer...

No,

Not a believer.

Just someone who knows about The Fool's existence and is a part of his small club. He couldn't think of Amon as his believer when the man and his family were known to be blasphemers. Come to think of it, why was Amon so trusting and causal in front of The Fool when he showed such obvious distaste for the true and orthodox gods in the real world?

Could it be that it had something to do with what he had concluded and the fact that he knew something about this mysterious place above the grey fog? His family had some sort of connection to this place making Amon automatically trust whoever was the ruler of this place?

He was really curious... unfortunately, he couldn't ask Amon any of those questions straightforwardly without breaking his image as The Fool...

"You can hold a ritual and speak my honorific name after this to officially became a part of the tarot club.

My honorific name is-

"The Fool that doesn't belong to this era;

"The Mysterious Ruler above the gray fog;

"The King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck."

"If you don't have any more questions, you can return back to the real world." Klein said with a smile.

"I don't," Amon shook his head. With a whoosh, Amon's figure disappeared from the grey fog.

Klein slumped back on his high black chair as he breathed a sigh of relief.

Somehow he had been able to bullshit his way through this situation he had dug up for himself and had not just saved his won hide but also made Amon join his Tarot Club as a member making it easier for Klein to support and protect him while keeping his real identity incognito.

He also hoped that through this he would be able to get to know more about the Amon family as well as Amon's father and brother- Amon's father who was most probably also a transmigrator.

Just as Klein was smiling to himself about this turn of events, he saw the grayish-white gem of his ring glow a giant crimson once again as he heard illusionary prayers from a male voice.

Klein tapped on his ring and the screen appeared in front of him again and he could see Amon's figure kneeling on the ground in a dark room surrounded with ritual items as he prayed the honorific name of The Fool with joint hands.

Klein could instantly feel some sort of connection through the ring and Amon and couldn't help but notice that Amon didn't have a crimson star like Ms. Justcie, The Hanged Man, or Little Sun in the sky but had a space on Klein's ring. Their connection wasn't through the grey fog but directly through the ring?

Then this connection was more personal and closer right? Klein thought with a smile.

Klein extended his hand and spirituality at the screen in front of him and patted Amon's fluffy black hair gently with a smile as he replied, "Good."

He could see the way Amon almost jerked at the sudden illusionary touch but relaxed instantly and melted into the pat, making Klein's heart pound faster.

Whatever this development was...

It was definitely a great development!
