Amon sat there on the bed with a bored look as he counted down seconds and minutes waiting for Klein to come back. He was a natural mythical creature and a born angel, time worked differently for him and human beings, yet why was he feeling so impatient and angry right now?!
Was this human nature?
Finally, after what felt like hours, Klein sneaked back into the room with a guilty expression, "I'm sorry Amon, but Melissa wants me to come back quickly, Benson wants my help with something and it seems like it will take the whole day..."
Was it too late to parasitize everyone in this world?
"But Klein..." Amon pouted as he pointed to his hard-on which looked really painful.
"I'm sorry, Melissa is waiting for me." Klein stuttered out with a blush as he gathered up the bouquet that had been tossed to the side during their make-out session and placed it on the bedside table. "I have the Monday off next, maybe we can go on a date then?" Klein asked with a nervous smile.
"Fine." Amon groaned as he fell back onto the bed and wrapped himself in the blankets, burying himself into his blanket fortress yet again. "Make sure to lock the door, I'll be busy trying to take care of my asshole without your help."
Wife is angry...
Wait did he just say that he'd- he'd-
Stop Klein! No need to get a hard-on before going to meet back your sister...
Klein walked to the edge of the bed and gave Amon a small kiss on his forehead before exiting the door and closing the room with a click.
After Amon had made sure that Klein and his sister had exited his mansion and would not be coming back again, Amon rolled off the sheets from his body stretched out his hand, and made a grabbing motion. Then, out of nowhere, a silicon toy appeared in his hand.
He wasn't going to let his clones fuck him this time, no, they needed to be punished. For that, Amon would just satisfy himself with a dildo.
"Woe is me..." Amon looked at the dildo sadly before sighing and pulling out some lubes from nowhere.
"Klein?" Melissa called out as they boarded the carriage.
"Yes?"
"If you're going to go ahead and get a fiance without even notifying your siblings, at least treat your fiance well." Melissa lectured with a stern face.
"Wh-what?" Klein blinked in confusion, where did this even come from?
"Amon had been looking so sad these past few days and always came to visit but you were always put doing something or the other. Today he looked especially lonely and sad, even Benson was worried" she sighed.
Klein looked down at his lap with shame. So it was just him who hadn't been able to see Amon being sad... what a failure of a fiance he was.
After a while, Klein smiled, "So that's why you came to visit his house even though you never do that usually?" He teased, "You've started to approve of him so quickly sis."
Melissa blushed as she hit Klein's arm with a frown, "Stop speaking nonsense!"
The two siblings laughed as they chanted casually before they reached Daffodil Street.
Monday morning, Klein followed his plan to revise and consolidate his mysticism knowledge. Then, he took the public carriage to Khoy University.
He wanted to increase his interactions with Mr. Azik and find out exactly what he knew. He asked about how Mr. Azik knew about his disharmony in fate and whether he was a dangerous extraordinary who needed to be kept under supervision by the Nighthawks, but he doubted that someone as kind and gentle as Mr. Azik would be someone like that. Mr. Azik was as kind and harmless as Amon.
("And both of us are born mythical creatures who've killed multiple innocent people in the past," an Amon clone snickered as he jumped up and down from Klein's hair.
"Should we be worried about his lack of proper danger senses?"
"Nah, if someone does come and try to hurt our darling, I'll just eat them!"
"What if it's us though-"
"Then we'll eat him together turn by turn until he's all spent~")
"Before I entered the Backlund University's history department, I lost most of my memory. I only remembered my name and some basic knowledge. Luckily, I still had my identification documents. Otherwise, I probably would have ended up homeless. All these years, I've tried to search for my parents using my identification documents, but I never found anything, even though I could see a corner of Fate." Mr. Azik said with a somber distant look on his face, "During my few years in the university, I gradually realized that I possessed some strange but unique powers, powers that go beyond common sense."
Losing memories... amnesia... Klein wondered in his mind. Did this happen to be the strange cycle of Mr. Azik's pathway and sequence? The powers in this world aren't at all like the rpg games back on earth, they're all so bizarre and limitless, something low Mr. Azik's condition although was a bit stranger, it wasn't at all farfetched.
After that, Mr. Azik spoke about his strange dreams that may have happened ti be his past lives and even told Klein how he knew that he was already an extraordinary from his senses.
Finally, Mr. Azik said with a small smile, "I hope that you can help me search for clues of my origin. You do not need to go out of your way to do it, just note it down if you find any clues."
Klein didn't say any more. He promised, "I'll pay special attention if I come across any clues."
Mr. Azik smiled, "You are a kind young man," just as they were about to go back, Mr. Azik's gaze landed on Klein's ring and he stopped as I'd he had just remembered something, "About your fiance..."
"Amon?" Klein asked confused.
"Yes, Amon..." Mr. Azik said the name with a constipated and weird emotion in his eyes, "Just like how Antigonus's name makes me feel wired, it's the same with Amon... but it makes me feel even more dread and scared...."
Scared? Although Klein could understand that Mr. Azik probably knew about the name Amon since he seemed like a Beyonder from the fourth epoch when families like Antigonus, Abraham, and Amon were well known, he couldn't understand why Mr. Azik would feel scared.
"Actually, Amon did say that he belonged to the Amon family from the fourth epoch," Klein notified, "He didn't tell me much though, but he did have a few informative books in his library about some of the obscurer parts of history about the fourth epoch. Would you mind me lending you some to trigger your memories?"
Mr. Azik shook his head with a smile, "I'll have to reject your offer, my intuition tells me that digging after that name would only bring more chaos and disharmony into my life..."
Chaos and disharmony... were the Amon family feared a lot in the past that even Mr. Azik was scared?
"Do you remember much about the Amon family, Mr. Azik? Amon didn't tell me much about it..." Klein asked after a while, this might be a good chance to ask about something he had been wondering about for the past few weeks.
"Not much, my memories are all still so fragmented and disharmonious, but what I do remember is the fear and strange tenseness that comes with that name." Mr. Azik sighed.
"The Amon family must have been strong in the past... unfortunately, I don't think many descendants are left yet by now." Klein said.
"Yes... descendants..." Azik did not know why, but that word coupled with Amon gave a paradoxical feeling in his mind. But he still had no information to go off of, just some strange feelings without the subsequent memories, so he ignored them.
"Alright, we should return to the office. Let's have lunch together with Cohen when he's done with work. Do you remember? The East Balam Restaurant at the university is quite good. Heh, my treat." Azik lifted his cane and pointed in a direction.
"You are such a generous man," Klein smiled, he wasn't about to reject free food from a nice restaurant.
"I'll be on summer break after I finish settling all my work at the university. You can visit me at my house or write to me." Mr. Azik said with a smile.
"Alright." Klein smiled back.
In the majestic divine hall above the gray fog sat a long, ancient mottled table.
Klein sat at the seat of honor, his face enveloped by the thick fog. He looked at the still-obscured Justice and The Hanged Man as they appeared at their designated seats.
He couldn't help but notice Ms. Justice acting anxious and nervous. Was this about her accidentally feeding her pet a Beyonder potion? Don't tell me that she accidentally started an apocalypse...
Words couldn't describe Audrey Hall's emotions. She was extremely shocked by Susie's sudden speech.
She had imagined a future with herself as a great detective or famous psychologist bringing along her assistant Susie, but if that became the dog detective Susie bringing along her assistant Miss Audrey, then it would be a little, a little...
No, not a little, it would be straight-up weird! It leaves me lost! Audrey suddenly sat up straight. She wanted to request Mr. Fool's and The Hanged Man's help.
But she swallowed the words she was about to say.
Hmm, how should I ask this? What should I do if my pet is abnormal?
How should I interact with a pet that can speak, one that has decent intelligence?
No, no, no, this is the Tarot Club, not an experience sharing on pets. I bet that the good impression that The Hanged Man and Mr. Fool have of me would shatter if I asked those questions!
Audrey's mind whirled. Finally, she organized her words and said, "Honorable Mr. Fool and Mr. Hanged Man, who have helped me all this time, I have a question to ask. What can a pet with Beyonder powers do for its owner? In other words, how useful is it?"
She had just said her piece when she noticed Mr. Fool and The Hanged Man slip into silence. The atmosphere became a little weird.
Hey hey hey, say something, don't look at me with those eyes, I did nothing! Really, I was asking for a friend! Audrey wanted to burrow into a hole out of shame.
She deeply regretted asking that question.
The meeting continued after the Hanged Man responded to Ms. Justice's question, after which Ms. Justuce asked about the name of the pathway of the abilities she had seen Ma'am Fors Wall show which was answered by the Hanged Man in exchange for news about future war that Loen wants to wage.
Finally Alger turned to The Fool's chair and asked, "Honorable Mr. Fool, I'd like to ask if the True Creator's Holy Residence that the Aurora Order advocates is the legendary Forsaken Land of the Gods?"
Forsaken Land of the Gods? I have only seen that term once in Roselle's diary… It might be in the secret dockets of the Nighthawks, but it isn't something I know of currently… How do you want me to answer? Klein nearly twitched the corner of his lips.
He was about to say bullshit like 'it's too soon for you to know', before he suddenly remembered something he had read from one of Amon's family books.
Although it didn't say anything specifically about the forsaken land of gods, it did mention how the family was one of the only few people in the world to know of a passage that could enter a land that had no gods... did that mean the forsaken land of god?
Klein had made sure to read that page carefully as it had mentioned the name of the creator in passing. Saying how the Amon family were descendants of the land blessed by the creator... did that mean the true creator and the forsaken land of gods? But from what he had gathered, the forsaken land of gods had been forgotten by the fog of history since the end of the third epoch...
Was the history of the Amon family really that long and blessed?
After a while of gathering up his thoughts and theories, he finally tapped on the ancient table and answered casually in the low voice of The Fool, "Yes."
Alger's eyes widened at that.
To think that Mr. Fool even knows about the holy residence of a true god revered by all of the churches... his level definitely isn't low! He even answered in such a causal tone as if that information wasn't any special to him...
"In exchange for that answer," Klein said as he turned to The Hanged Man, "I would like you to gather some small information for me."
Alger instantly tensed up as his heart raced. To think he had forgotten the thing about equivalent exchange... how foolish! What would he do if this strange unknown deity asked about the secrets of the church of storms? Although he wasn't a devout believer of the storm, he was still a pirate and a part of the church, how could he commit such blasphemy...
Seeing Mr. Hanged Man's sudden tenseness, Klein laughed a little and said casually, "It's nothing much, I just need you to gather information and tell me whatever you know about the Amon family from the fourth epoch. The more information the better. If your answer satisfies me very much, I can even answer another question for you in the future."
Such generosity... Alger felt his tense back deflate as he responded with a polite and determined man, "As you wish." He already had some information about the Amon family, but he opted to research a bit more and tell his answer and the fruits of his labor at the next meeting with more information to get the bonus!
At that moment, Audrey felt that she should say something.
"Mr. Fool, if—and I'm saying if—I have the opportunity to join another organization, such as the Psychology Alchemists, is it permitted?"
Klein maintained his posture of leaning backward as he said with a chuckle, "That is no problem. My requirement is that the existence of the Tarot Club is not to be exposed."
"If you become a member of another organization, the materials and information you can use for exchange will also increase."
After saying that, he suddenly recalled that he was also a member of another organization. He was a real Nighthawk while The Hanged Man was most likely related to the Church of the Lord of Storms.
Would my Tarot Club be the so-called Rebels Alliance? Traitor Gathering? Klein was drowned in deep thought.
After ending the gathering, Klein decided to stay back in the grey fog for a few more moments.
He wanted to divinate if his Seer potion really was fully digested and if advancing to sequence 8 clown was safe to do today.
Klein conjured up a parchment paper made of goatskin and a fountain pen and wrote the divination statements.
Both positive...
Hm, he had also promised to visit Amon today. It would be reasonable to go and visit him, spend some time together, and go on a casual date after which he'd go back home with the required materials for the clown potion, and make it and drink it before Melissa and Benson would come back home.
With this Klein nodded to himself as he unsummoned the items he had conjured up and raised the hand that had his engagement ring.
Better to check if Amon is at home and if it's alright to visit him now....
Klein tapped at the foggy gem twice before a screen appeared in front of his eyes. The fog hid everything for a while before finally dissipating and showing the view of a bathroom.
Why is it always the bathroom...?! Was his wife someone who spent half of his day in the bathroom?!
Klein wanted to quickly shut down the 'live stream', but before he could, he heard a faint illusionary voice coming from the screen.
There's even an audio function?
Klein, who was momentarily surprised, forgot to dispel the image. Although he couldn't hear anything clearly, probably because his level was still too low to properly control the grey fog, so he could only hear faint humming as if someone was speaking something but was too muffled out to hear.
He saw Amon, who was lying leisurely in the bathtub, bring out his hands and pull out a bottle of... something from the drawer beside him.
Some kind of bath salt or soap? Klein, who was intrigued and curious about what kind of advancements had been made in the rich noble households kept on watching. It wasn't much embarrassing this time either as most of Amon's naked body was submerged in the water which was very blurry from some pink soap or aromatic he had used.
Then he saw Amon draining out all the water.
Klein frowned. It wasn't a bath salt or some soap? What is he doing...? Thankfully, the screen was blurry and there was already wet mist in the bathroom so it hid most of Amon's private bits. Moreover, Klein was only interested in that sachet Amon had pulled out.
He watched Amon tear open the bottle and some kind of viscous gel dripped onto his fingers.
Shampoo...? Why was he using shampoo after his bath? Conditioner?
Then he watched as Amon lowered his hand which had been lathered with the viscous liquid... to his ass as he braced himself against the tub wall.
It was at that moment that Klein realized-
It wasn't shampoo or conditioner-
That was lube!
Klein quickly shut down the screen and excited the grey fog with burning years as he buried his face into his pillow, screaming into it.
He- he had seen his wife 'preparing' himself for their meeting today...
Klein once again screamed into the pillow.
He was glad that Benson and Melissa weren't at home yet.
After a while of going through his mental breakdown, Klein finally stood up and took a deep breath.
Since his wife seemed busy currently with his p-preparations... it was better to visit the divination club for a brief while before visiting him. Yes, that was reasonable.
Wouldn't it be embarrassing for Amon if Klein were to come in while he was... doing t-that?!
("Intersting, interesting." An Amon clone smirked as it turned to his brethren.
"We have something exciting to do in the future." The Amon clones snickered evilly.)
