Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Light in Light

The red line office that morning was full of tension. The former battle in the warehouse is still felt, and their defeat in fighting over the second relic hangs in the air.

"We can't be careless anymore," Bimo said, staring at the map on the board. "The Jakarta History Museum is the next target. If the cult gets the mirror, they will have two of the three relics they need."

"How do we enter?" Anton asked, he had opened his laptop. "The museum is a public place. We can't just enter and ask for the mirror."

"We have to borrow it," Bimo answered. "Or at least, secure it on the spot. Dr. Maya, can you arrange a meeting with the museum? Say we are from a special hospital division that examines ... colonial medical history. Or something convincing."

Dr. Maya nodded. "I'll try. But it takes time."

"We don't have time," Riani said. "What happens if we go straight there? Explore, find the mirror, and place the seal of protection as Mr. Daru teaches?"

"It's too risky," Bimo said. "If we get caught, we will be arrested. That will actually give more time for the cult to act."

While they argued, Bimo's phone rang. That is an unknown number.

"Bimo," said the voice of a calm and authoritative man on the other side. "My name is Mr. Hendra. I am a senior curator at the Jakarta History Museum. I ... the old colleague of the late Mr. Daru."

Bimo was surprised. "Mr. Daru? How do you ..."

"He left a very specific instruction," said Mr. Hendra. "If one day something happens to him, or if I receive a call from a Dr. Maya about the museum consultation, I must immediately contact a Bimo. He said you were 'successor'. And based on news about the invasion in the harmony warehouse last night, which involved a young man with ... special abilities ... I think this is the time."

Bimo was silent for a moment, processing this information. Pak Daru has prepared a safety net. "We need your help, sir. We believe there is an object in your museum that is in danger. A mirror from the VOC era."

Pak Hendra sighed. "Van der Wijck mirror. I know. Daru always warns me about that thing. He even helped us put some ... 'antidote' around his vitrine years ago. But this morning, something happened."

"What happened?" asked Bimo Waspada.

"The alarm system for the room died for a while around 3 am. Only for two minutes. Nothing came in, and nothing was missing. But when I checked it, the small tin seal attached to the mirror frame ... it cracked."

Bimo closed his eyes. They are too late. "It's not a physical theft, sir. That is a spiritual hack. They don't need to steal the mirror; they may have opened some of the seals or linked the mirror to their rituals from a distance. The mirror has been contaminated."

"Gosh," whispered Mr. Hendra. "Then what should we do?"

"We have to come now," pleaded Bimo. "And we need full access to the mirror."

"Fine," answered Mr. Hendra. "I will close the room for 'repair'. Come through the back door. I'll wait for you."

The red line team immediately departed. On the way, Bimo explained the situation.

"The cult did not steal the mirror because they did not need. They had the first relics, and now they have access to the second relic. They only need the third relic to complete the triad and open the gate. The mirror is now like a mines. Touching it can be dangerous."

"So what's the plan?" Anton asked while driving.

"We must purify it," Bimo answered. "Decisive the relationship with the cult and strengthen the seal. It will require a high concentration. You two must take care of me. Purification rituals will make me very open."

They arrived at the museum and were welcomed by Mr. Hendra, an elderly man with thick glasses and worried faces. He brought them through a lonely rear corridor to a room that read "Consul Room - The VOC era".

The room was big and filled with colonial objects. In the middle of the room, in a large glass vitrin, depending on a large oval mirror with a wooden frame carved complicated and dull silver decoration. The mirror looks normal, but Bimo and Riani can immediately feel the dirty energy that radiates like a pungent heat.

"Look," said Mr. Hendra, pointing to a small tin seal attached to the bottom of the frame. The seal was cracked in the middle.

Bimo approaches vitrin. He doesn't need to open it. He can see it. A thick black energy thread, almost as big as a cable, stretches from the mirror, penetrates the ceiling, and disappears to a distant place as far as possible to the senen tunnel.

"They have connected it," Bimo said. "The energy from the first relic flows through this thread to the mirror, and will flow to the third relic later, creating an energy triangle to open the gate."

"Can you break him?" asked Riani.

"I have to try," Bimo answered. "Mr. Hendra, please take care of the door. Anton, Riani, don't let anyone approach. I'll start."

Bimo sat cross legged in front of Vitrin. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He reached out spiritually, not physically, and touched the black thread.

Instantly, a clash of hard energy hit him. His mind was attacked by terrible pictures: the faces that shouted, the shadows that move in the mirror, and a large-closed big eye that slowly began to open.

"No ... so ... easy ..." a hiss hiss in his head.

Bimo mobilized his white fire, forming a shield around his mind. He pushed back, trying to heat the black thread until it broke.

But the thread is too strong. It was powered by the first relics that were fully controlled by the cult.

"Bimo!" Riani shouted. "You are okay?"

Bimo can't answer. Sweat poured on his forehead. His hands trembled.

He realized he could not break him alone. He needs help.

"Riani!" He managed to break. "Look ... through ... my eyes! Look at the thread! Help me ... Decide!"

Riani has no doubt. He knelt next to Bimo, closed his eyes, and put his hand on Bimo's shoulder. He focused all his abilities, not to create illusions, but to feel and manipulate the energy that Bimo saw.

"I ... I see it!" whispered Riani. "That's very dark."

"Focus ... at ... one point!" Bimo Instructions.

Riani mobilized his desires. He imagined the giant energy scissors who cut the thread. It's difficult. Like trying to cut steel with paper scissors.

Suddenly, Anton acted. He pulled out an object from his bag a round talisman of wood carved with protective symbols by Mr. Daru.

"I can't see what you see," Anton said. "But maybe this can help!" He threw the talisman at the mirror.

The talisman did not reach a mirror, but landed on the floor between Bimo and Vitrin. Once touching the ground, the talisman emits a small but significant wave of cleaning energy.

That's enough.

The energy waves interfere with the concentration of the other end of the thread. For a moment, the flow of energy was cut off.

Bimo and Riani felt that opportunity. They mobilize all their strength simultaneously.

Snap!

A voice that they could only hear spiritually echoed in the room. The black thread broke and disappeared into smoke.

Bimo staggered backwards, panting. Riani also fell to the floor, fatigue.

"It worked," hissed Bimo.

But before they could cheer, the mirror began to vibrate in his vitrin. The picture in it changes. No longer reflecting the room, but showing a dark sight: a humid underground tunnel, inhabited by moving shadows. In the middle of the tunnel, a circular energy portal began to form, stabilized by two energy sources-two relics they had collected.

"No!" shouted Mr. Hendra. "What's that?"

"That's the Senen tunnel," Bimo murmured. "They have started a ritual without a mirror! They use just two relics!"

"But he said it needed three?" Anton's protest.

"Three to open it completely and stable," Bimo said, rising quickly. "Two can only open it for a while, but it's enough to let go of something terrible!"

In the mirror, they saw dark figures starting to creep out of the unstable portal-thin creatures with red eyes and long claws.

"We have to stop them!" Riani shouted.

"But we are here, and they are there!" Anton said.

Bimo looked at the mirror. He has a risky idea. "That mirror is a portal too! Now connected there! We can get through it!"

"Are you crazy?!" shouted Anton.

"There's no time for debate!" Bimo said. "They will release the creatures into the city! I'll be in. You close the portal from this side after I entered."

"How?" asked Riani, scared.

"Destroy the mirror!" Bimo's command. "That will break the relationship!"

Without waiting for an answer, Bimo ran towards Vitrin. With a fire -controlled fire from his hand, he melted the glass key and pushed it open. He grabbed the mirror frame.

When it touches it, the world around him rotates. He was sucked into a vortex of energy and was thrown out on the other side, landing hard on the ground floor of the damp tunnel.

He immediately looked around. He was in the Senen tunnel. In front of him, a fluctuating energy portal emitting purple light. Dozens of creatures such as Shadow People have been half out of the portal. Two black-robed cult members stood in front of the portal, holding the height of two objects: an ancient bronze bowl (first relic) and a strange carved bone (the third relic they had gotten).

They were surprised to see Bimo suddenly emerged from the air.

"Child Fire!" shouted one of them.

Bimo doesn't waste time. He made two large fireballs at the creatures that were coming out of the portal. The creatures screamed and shrank back into the darkness.

Then he turned towards the cultis. "Close the Portal! Now!"

"Never!" shouted cultis. "We're too far away!"

Bimo lunged at them. But before he reached them, a loud crack was heard from the portal, followed by a broken glass sound that came from another dimension.

In the museum, Riani, with teary eyes, had taken firefighters and destroyed the van der Wijck mirror into pieces.

The effect is immediately visible. The portal in the Senen tunnel becomes unstable, blinking wildly. His energy turned around, began to suck everything around him into it.

"No!" screamed the cultis, staggered.

They and the relics they hold are sucked into the whirlpool of collapsed portals. The remaining shadow creatures are also sucked.

Bimo holds on to an iron pipe that stands out from the wall, trying to fight strong suction power.

The portal shrank quickly, like a hole closed. Once reached the size of the fist, he blinked for the last time and disappeared, leaving darkness and silence.

Bimo sat on the ground floor, panting. He is alone in a dark tunnel. Two relics and the two cultis were lost, buried between dimensions.

A few minutes later, the sound of footsteps rushed. Anton, Riani, and Mr. Hendra emerged from a tunnel entrance in the distance, carrying a flashlight.

"Bimo!" Riani shouted, ran to her. "You are okay?"

Bimo nodded, still in shock. "Yes. Portalnya ... closed."

"And the legacy?" Anton asked.

"Missing. Trapped between the world. That is good enough."

Rely out of the tunnel with the help of Mr. Hendra who has mapped his way. Once outside, Bimo looked at the museum. This crisis has been avoided.

But he knows this is not a victory. The closed eye cult loses two members and two relics, but the leader is still free. And they now know that the red line team will do anything to stop them.

The battle is still far from finished. It's just a new chapter that starts.
