Calendar of Colossara

Excerpt from "The Scholar's Codex of Power," Vol. II — The Flow of Time

"Time on Colossara is not measured as it was on Terra. The planet's vast orbit, its three suns, and the fractured moon forced mankind to build a new calendar — one suited for an eternal world."

---

The Two Measures of Time

The Grand Year: Colossara's orbit around its three suns. One Grand Year equals roughly a century on lesser worlds. Scholars and historians use it to measure long spans of history.

The Common Year: The civil calendar used by everyone in daily life. It is divided into twelve months, each with 120 days, making 1,440 days in total.

For example Common Year 920,471 A.E =

Grand Year 9,204

The Twelve Months

Each month reflects the natural cycle of Colossara — its storms, stars, and seasons.

1. Dawnspire – first rising of the suns after deep frost. A month of planting, renewal, and oaths.

2. Stormveil – lightning storms sweep the plains. Associated with travel, endurance, and trials.

3. Blossomshade – trees bloom violet and gold. A time of festivals, marriages, and poetry.

4. Ashrift – volcanic belts stir. Blacksmiths and builders mark this month with work and forging.

5. Ironmarch – great herds and beasts migrate. Hunters and soldiers alike begin their campaigns.

6. Moongrave – the fractured moon shines brightest. A month of remembrance, secrets, and mourning.

7. Suncrest – the suns reach their zenith. Harvests are taken, academies often hold entrance trials.

8. Duskfall – days shorten, shadows stretch. Courts and nobles use this month for intrigue and diplomacy.

9. Bloodtide – crimson storms sweep the seas. Sailors pray, pirates feast, and omens are read.

10. Starweave – essence-lights lace the skies. Navigators, scholars, and mages work by these threads.

11. Frostwane – the coldest month. A time of austerity, stockpiling, and tests of will.

12. Eclipseborn – when the moon eclipses one sun. Endings and renewals are marked here; debts settled, wars paused or begun.
