Chapter 132 - Batman Needs Us!

"The Foot Clan has obtained a piece of alien technology called a Mind Transmission Device. It can achieve fixed-point teleportation. The device was originally split into three parts—one is in the hands of the Foot Clan, while the other two are scattered across different places on Earth. A single part can still teleport, but its stability is extremely poor, and the success rate is almost zero…"

Phil explained patiently: "After their leader Shredder was arrested, the remaining members of the Foot Clan wanted to ensure they could rescue him. And to guard against Batman, they plan to reassemble the complete Mind Transmission Device, so they can guarantee success."

"Mind Transmission Device?"

Natasha frowned.

She had never heard of such technology.

Of course, for people who don't pay attention to this field, not knowing is normal.

After all, there are countless advanced technologies in the world—very few are immediately applicable to daily life; most are strategic priority tech.

"Alien technology!"

What Natasha cared about the most were those words from Phil's mouth.

Alien technology.

The Mind Transmission Device originated from extraterrestrial tech.

This made her think of the film Anton had shot—Cyborg. In it, Victor Stone survived only because alien technology was used to transform him into a half-human, half-mechanical being.

"Could it be…"

She didn't show anything on her face, but she hesitated inwardly.

In front of her, Phil continued: "Following Batman's instructions, I disguised myself as one of the Green Goblin's men and infiltrated the remnants of the Foot Clan. When I followed them into the rainforest to search for the last part of the Mind Transmission Device, we ran into General Ross and his army—they were in the middle of capturing Dr. Banner…"

"Ross snatched the Mind Transmission Device from us, accidentally triggered its switch, and attracted the attention and attack of aliens!"

As he spoke, Phil swallowed hard, terror on his face.

"That alien called himself General Lang. He fired attacks through the spatial channel and nearly flattened the entire airborne base… If I hadn't controlled my Demon Ghost Suit at the last second to shut down the power grid and stop the device from receiving energy, you wouldn't need me to explain anything right now—you'd be seeing aliens with your own eyes!"

Natasha stayed silent for a long time, thinking.

She then asked, "Now that the flying base has been reduced to rubble, where is the Mind Transmission Device? Why didn't we find it among the remains?"

"It was taken by the Foot Clan remnants!"

Phil gritted his teeth. "At the critical moment, my identity was exposed. They stole the device from me! I rushed back to New York because they might reach Shredder before we do and break him out of prison."

"Understood."

Natasha nodded. There were still a few minor details she hadn't clarified, but overall, the general direction matched their existing assessment. Phil's story could be trusted to a certain degree.

She reported everything to Nick Fury.

The black-eyed man remained expressionless.

"Too late."

He spoke slowly: "This information came too late."

"What do you mean?"

Natasha looked confused.

"As soon as I learned this was connected to the Foot Clan, I contacted the prison." Fury's tone darkened. "They just informed me—Shredder mysteriously disappeared a few hours ago. It's like he was teleported."

Natasha's heart tightened.

Shredder disappearing meant the Foot Clan had already acted.

"So that means New York is in danger!"

She frowned deeply. "A gang that possesses alien technology—who knows when they'll suddenly go insane?"

"This matter has already blown up. Pass the order—have all agents search for the remaining Foot Clan forces in New York with full effort. Shredder must be found!"

Fury had already made up his mind; his tone was solemn.

This issue involved aliens. Whether he wanted to or not, he had no choice but to take it on.

Perhaps even Batman knew how serious this was—and that's why he dumped this trouble onto S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Fury thought to himself.

But he didn't know that everything was within Anton's plan.

And he, Nick Fury, was simply the scapegoat—Anton's unlucky fall guy.

New York.Sewer area. The Ninja Turtles' training dojo.

After dumping the blame onto S.H.I.E.L.D., Anton brought Bruce Banner here.

Banner was shocked.

He never expected that beneath the prosperous New York streets, there was such a hidden gem.

To create such a clean, lived-in environment inside the dirty sewer system—this was no small feat.

"The Ninja Turtles!"

Banner followed American news somewhat.

The Daily Bugle was unavoidable in the media world.

Almost every superhero that had appeared in New York had been covered by the Bugle.

Whether Batman, Venom, Daredevil, the Ninja Turtles, or Spider-Man, Iron Man—all had appeared in its reports.

Banner naturally recognized the Ninja Turtles.

Not just them—even villains like the Green Goblin, Lizard, or Doctor Octopus, he had heard of them as well.

"Dr. Banner, although you're a physicist, I know you have deep research in cellular biology too. You'll feel right at home here."

Anton introduced the one-armed man walking toward them: "This is Curt Connors, professor of biology. I'm sure you two will have a lot to talk about."

"Connors?"

Banner froze, quickly recalling the man's other identity.

"The Lizard!"

"That's right—I'm the Lizard."

Connors looked slightly embarrassed.

Now that he had regained his sanity, he had no choice but to acknowledge the past he'd rather forget.

Connors spoke earnestly: "Dr. Banner, I've already turned over a new leaf. I'm doing everything I can to make up for my past mistakes."

"I understand."

Banner gave a bitter smile.

After becoming the Hulk, he too had done many things he regretted. The helplessness of it all was something he didn't like remembering.

"All right. Introductions are done—let's talk business."

Anton nodded to Connors.

"Dr. Banner, our current research direction is a human-enhancement serum with no side effects—or at least minimal side effects—something usable in practice!"

Connors explained: "Thanks to the mutagen in the Ninja Turtles' blood, the enhancement serum has achieved early results. But our biggest problem is still the mental impact on test subjects. Perhaps you don't know— the Green Goblin is our greatest warning example…"

He explained the situation and the mutagen's effects.

Banner listened with shining eyes.

The mutagen astonished him, and he felt genuine admiration toward Dr. O'Neil, who had created it—only to die young, which Banner found truly regrettable.

But the mutagen made him think of his own situation.

With the mutagen's help… could he suppress the Hulk inside him? Or even… eliminate the Hulk?

A spark of hope ignited within Banner.

The Hulk's tremendous strength had never elevated him—instead it dragged him into hell, forcing him into a two-year nightmare of fleeing for survival.

At the very least, suppressing this uncontrollable power was his greatest wish.

Elsewhere.

After delivering Banner to the Ninja Turtles' hideout, Anton left the sewers and returned to the Daily Bugle.

"The Foot Clan has begun their operation!"

Eddie called, sounding excited.

He was inside the TCRI lab building.

With Venom's help, he easily bypassed the Foot Clan's remaining defenses and slipped inside silently.

As for surveillance—Cyborg had already taken care of that.

The Foot Clan never imagined every move they made was being watched by Anton and his allies.

Dr. Stockman looked thrilled.

The female ninja Karai stood beside the newly rescued Shredder, full of expectation, as if she already saw the Foot Clan sweeping the world while Shredder ruled supreme.

Rewind time to yesterday.

Phil was escorting Stockman and Karai on a smuggling cargo ship from Brazil.

Night.

Thanks to her years of training, Karai broke free from her restraints, seized the Mind Transmission Device when Phil wasn't watching, and rescued Stockman.

After escaping, they were shocked to discover that the once-fragmented device had become whole.

They quickly deduced the reason:

The silver robot—the man who wiped out an entire army with ease and turned the flying base into ruins—had taken the last piece from another monster and combined the three parts before arriving at the base.

However, based on Stockman's experience, a complete Mind Transmission Device required massive energy.

In their eyes, that was why Phil, despite possessing the full device, chose to smuggle his way back to New York instead of using it.

Once free, they immediately contacted the remaining Foot Clan members, returned to New York before Phil, reached the TCRI building, activated the device, and successfully rescued Shredder.

After being rescued, Shredder acted like a country bumpkin seeing the world for the first time—completely brainwashed, eyes burning with almost tangible ambition.

"General Lang of the aliens!"

After Shredder explained everything, Stockman and Karai found it hard to believe.

Aliens.

They actually existed.

And the Mind Transmission Device was alien technology!

Stockman wasn't too shocked. After he got one of the pieces, he had investigated its authenticity and origins thoroughly.

His final conclusion:

Earth could not possibly produce such era-defining technology.

No matter how impossible everything seemed, the remaining explanation was the truth.

Hearing Shredder's words, he became excited.

If what Shredder said was true—if the Mind Transmission Device could help General Lang teleport a war fortress, a pinnacle of alien technology, from deep space to Earth—then this planet's future was already set.

General Lang would occupy Earth.Shredder would stand just beneath him.Stockman, the greatest contributor, would enjoy supreme status and become one of the most honored people on the planet.

As for Batman?As for Phil?

They would all be fish on the chopping block.

Stockman clenched his teeth.

To him, Batman was terrifying. But what he hated more was Phil, who had deceived him for so long.

"An undercover agent!"

Stockman stared at the complete Mind Transmission Device, sneering. "You'll pay for this, Phil!"

"Tsk tsk… looks like Phil really pissed them off!"

Eddie hid in a corner, recording everything with his camera.

Venom amplified his hearing, letting him catch every word of the villains' conversation.

To be honest, he had been surprised to learn from Anton that aliens existed. But the Mind Transmission Device shocked him even more.

After all, Venom itself was an alien symbiote.

Thinking about that, Eddie wasn't as shocked—everything made sense.

Otherwise, Anton wouldn't have invested so much effort into dealing with the Foot Clan or sent Phil undercover.

"Go ahead and enjoy yourselves for now. We'll see if you can still laugh later!"

Eddie snickered.

Even after learning their entire plan and the consequences, he felt no tension.

The Justice League was assembling.

The superheroes were ready.

It was time for the people of New York to learn of the Justice League's existence—and to realize that although danger lurked everywhere, the city's guardians were unmatched.

DC Headquarters.

Anton sat in his office, received Eddie's update, pulled out his phone, and made calls one by one.

Hell's Kitchen.

Ring ring ring!

Daredevil—Matt Murdock—picked up Anton's call.

"What is it?"

Matt's heart stirred; he sensed this call wasn't ordinary.

Soon—

His expression turned serious.

"I understand."

He replied, "Daredevil has been resting long enough. It's time to get some fresh air."

Midtown High School.

The principal entered Peter's classroom.

"Who is Peter Parker?"

He scanned the room, spotted a thin teenage boy standing up, and waved. "Kid, someone's here to pick you up. Reporters from the Daily Bugle."

"The Daily Bugle?"

Peter followed the principal out, utterly confused.

"You know the superhero ranking from earlier? It seems the Daily Bugle wants to copy that idea and rank all the high schools in New York. They're interviewing students…"

The principal smiled warmly at Peter. "Kid, you know what to say, right?"

"Uh…"

Peter was speechless, a whole rant stuck in his throat.

NYPD.

The four Ninja Turtles, who were on duty, received a notification—and immediately became excited.

They rushed into George's office.

"Chief!"

Michelangelo shouted, thrilled, "We're going on a mission! Batman needs us!"
