Chapter 2 - Tough Situation? Overpowered Talent

Creek!

The door suddenly opened, and a middle-aged man walked in, wearing the dress of a butler.

When the man saw Ken, his eyes widened, but before he could speak, Ken put an index finger in front of his mouth, signaling him to keep quiet.

The butler immediately closed his mouth and looked at the bed. He saw Ken's parents sleeping there and nodded.

Ken signaled him to come and pointed him towards the corpse.

The butler was stunned when he saw a corpse with several holes in its body. Then, he realized that Ken was still wet. He walked closer and whispered.

"Lord Ken, I will immediately send some maids with new clothes. I will also reinstate the guards. Do you want to move to another room?"

Ken shook his head and whispered.

"No, I will watch over my parents. Just ask the maids to bring in towels and new clothes. Also, tell the Head about my recovery."

"I will go talk to him when my parents wake up. Do you think the news of my recovery can be suppressed?"

The butler shook his head.

"Not for long, Lord Ken! Even if you stay in this room forever, they will still know."

Hearing that, Ken nodded.

"I didn't have much expectation anyway."

"Then, is there anything else I need to know about?" The butler asked.

"I'm hungry as well."

The butler nodded, went to pick up the corpse, and left the room. Two minutes later, two maids walked in.

They were long, blue, and white checkered dresses that reached their ankles.

When they saw Ken standing next to his bed, they immediately bowed their heads and said.

"Lord, do you need us to help you with clothes?"

Ken was speechless. He didn't need a maid's help. Even this previous Ken didn't need their help.

Before his awakening, he was a normal kid.

His status as Lord was only given to him when he awakened such a broken and powerful ability.

"No!"

Ken's reply was concise.

The maids nodded, put the clothes on the side of the bed, and left with a bow.

'It still feels weird. These etiquettes!'

Ken thought to himself and took off his clothes. After that, he wore new clothes. It was a light blue shirt, white pants, a dark blue belt, and a blue blazer.

Wearing his new clothes, he went to a chair in front of the bed and sat down.

He placed his hand on his chin and thought.

'Thought Creation! An amazing power. Ability to create anything, but requires the proper understanding of its creation and ingredients.'

When he thought of his ability, Ken had a toothache.

When he was a kid, he never focused on his class. Even when his parents forced him, he would resent them instead of focusing on his studies.

Thankfully, he loved coding and programming. So, he focused on that and finished his studies.

After that, he got a job in a big company and lived quite a fulfilling life. He was a Lead Developer.

But he only had a girlfriend. He hadn't got married. Before he was planning on proposing marriage, he was struck by a truck.

He still resented this fact, but he couldn't change it.

After that accident, he died and was reborn in this body when this body's soul had collapsed.

Merging with the soul, he became a new Ken.

The mixture of the previous Ken and Ken from another world.

This world was a world of magic. Because of the existence of magic, the hierarchy system of this world was dependent on it.

The top of the hierarchy system was occupied by ten Emperors who had disappeared.

Even after thousands of years of disappearance, their influence hadn't decreased a bit.

Followed by the Emperors were the Saints.

War Saints!

They were known for their strength to divide continents and blow up a country with a single spell.

They were the masters of Rank One Spell; the only spell above them was Rank Zero.

The power of Rank Zero was unquantifiable.

Following the War Saints were the War Kings, then Warlords, then Warlock Grandmasters, Warlock Masters, Golden Warlock, Silver Warlock, Bronze Warlock, and Warlock Apprentice.

Each rank had four sub-ranks.

Early Stage, Middle Stage, Late Stage, and Peak Stage.

Ken went from Early Stage Warlock Apprentice to Peak Stage Warlock Apprentice in just two weeks.

His father was thirty-eight years old, and he was only a Bronze Warlock.

In twenty years, he had only achieved Bronze Warlock Rank.

The same rank that Ken could have reached by now if he hadn't fallen into a Coma.

The gap between his talent and others was so big that even an A-Rank talent would take at least a month to climb one sub-rank.

Maybe S-Rank could curb that to one or two weeks.

But he did increase two ranks within a single week. So, the gap between him and the highest recorded talent in the world was still huge.

'No wonder they wanted to kill me at any cost. But their abilities are quite surprising.'

'That assassin entered the house without alerting anyone and reached my bed. Even when my parents were still next to me.'

'Fortunately, it seems like his rank was quite low; otherwise, his mana alone would've triggered people from the family.'

'About the Grant Family! Although their purpose is to use my strength in the future, they have protected me all this time. I will not forget their grace.'

As for the absence of the guards right now, he didn't care.

Fifteen deaths!

In just two weeks, the Grant Family lost fifteen warlocks, ranging from Golden Warlocks to Bronze Warlocks.

Even when he fell into a coma, they still protected him.

They didn't need to. They had maintained this balance for thousands of years.

But they did it anyway. Maybe they were tired of such a balance, or maybe they couldn't let a genius like him die.

They did protect him all this time.

Creek!

Just when he was thinking about the Grant Family, one of the Elders of the Grant Family walked in.

He was truly an elderly figure as he had to hold a stick and hunch over while walking.

Even so, Ken didn't underestimate this person. He immediately stood up and whispered.

"Greetings, Second Elder!"

He had only seen this man once before. He was worried this man would take offense at his small voice.

The old man chuckled in a low voice and spoke. But his voice didn't come out of his mouth.

'Don't worry, little guy! I am not so unreasonable that I can't even see a son worrying about his parents.'

Ken's eyes widened as he thought.

'A telepath! Oh shit!'

'Wow! You are quite shocked by my ability. Don't worry, I can't read your mind casually. Otherwise, telepaths would've ruled the world by now.'

'So, while speaking to me, think about speaking to me. This way you can hide your other thoughts.'

The old man had a casual smile, but this smile terrified him.

Hearing that, Ken sighed a breath of relief, but even so, he immediately used his ability.

The mana in his body surged. It came from the middle of his body, a place where his navel existed. It was within his skin or even muscles, but outside the inner organs.

[Thought Creation Magic: Electrical Discharge]

When he used this spell, he created it on the spot. Because this didn't require much information.

Electricity could be generated by the movements of electrons. The electrons were created by his ability, controlled by his thoughts, and moved to generate electricity.

This electricity was similar to electric pulses on his brain that wouldn't harm him, but it would make sure nobody could read his mind by disturbing those electric pulses.

His action stunned the old man. He froze since he couldn't use his telepathy to communicate with Ken anymore.

But soon, a smile appeared on his face.

"Good job! At least, we didn't bet on the wrong man."

"I'm sorry, Second Elder. I just don't like someone entering my brain."

Ken replied while bowing his head. This was the respect he should show after showing so much disrespect.

"Don't worry, Ken! We have a lot of things to talk about. I understand your intentions and your worries."

"But!"

When he said that, Ken's heart shook. He was worried that the old man would get angry at him, but the old man reminded him of something important.

"You can't always protect them. If it were possible, you wouldn't be assassinated, Ken."

Hearing that, Ken muttered.

"My situation is that bad, huh?"

The Second Elder sighed and replied.

"It is worse than you think. If not for your improvement, we would've been forced to give up on you because of your ability."

"We do not understand it. No spell can help you. You are walking on your own."

"Worse than that, the news of your talent has reached far outside the city. When they come..."

"They will come for you."
