" Miss... Your mother needs to undergo dialysis to sustain her for the next few days if possible, and you haven't paid the previous recurring bills." the doctor mumbled while they administered the special medicine and put her to rest.
"Days?" the dialysis was so expensive and normally they could do it once and sustain them for three months, it dropped to two months and then it got to a month, but now it was a few days, what did this mean? Was she giving up?
"Doctor...." Yun Luo hoarsely called the doctor gazing at her mother.
"You do know the exact condition of your mother..." The doctor mumbled ruffling her hair gently, he pitied her but there was nothing he could do.
The nurses cleaned up the bed and its beddings before changing into clean ones, they were in a public ward where there were more open beds but partitioned with curtains giving each patient some privacy.
"Mother... Don't give up yet, mother.. don't give up..." She gazed at her mother who was now lying there silently, she shut her eyes for a minute, she needed to get money and perform dialysis to at least last her for those few days before she earned more money.
She bent over and pecked her forehead before tucking her in nicely, "Mother, I will be back.." after making sure she was sound asleep and resting, she hurriedly exited the ward hall trailing just behind the doctors and nurses.
She dipped her left hand into her trouser pocket getting her mobile phone from the faded jeans she was wearing and dialed the number she always called.
After two rings, it was picked up and you could hear a low voice echoing from the other end.
"Hello, What is it, Yun Luo?" Mo Zi Lin who was in a club enjoying the evening received the phone call after seeing who it was.
"Mo Zi Lin, I want to meet you urgently... Please.. " her choked-up voice muttered as she walked down the hallway while wiping the tears that were streaming down her subtle cheeks. She could only cry away from her mother.
"All right, give me ten minutes, where should I find you?" he inquired as usual.
"At the Hospital parking lot.." she responded while walking down the corridor she took the stairs and went down to the ground floor.
She was wearing old worn-out jeans with a faded black t-shirt, her frame was tiny so it didn't fit her nicely, it just looked baggy. She matched that with black rubbers.
For the past two years, her mother's treatment has been burdensome on her, the only thing she ever thought of was to earn money and treat her mother, she never had any spare change for herself, and even getting healthy food had become a problem.
Getting over to the ground floor, outside, it had begun drizzling and she stood there at the door waiting for Mo Zi Lin to call her over. She crossed her arms across her chest curling up as the cold wind breezed towards her direction.
She rubbed her bare arms which had begun to get goosebumps from the cold wind.
She also rubbed her eyes several times before calming herself down and looking normal, she always looked stronger and didn't prefer the man she loved to see her crying, she had never liked anyone pitying her and thus she wore a strong front.
After a few minutes of waiting at the entrance door, her phone suddenly rang and she got it out of her trouser pockets, gazing at the screen it was Mo Zi Lin's number.
"Hello Zi Lin.." she puffed out several times calming down before receiving it as her voice got soft and gentler.
"I'm at the parking lot... Hurry up.. " he informed her before hanging up the phone call immediately.
She rushed out of the hospital entrance into the parking lot even though it had begun raining a bit heavily, her t-shirt was soaking in faster than she had expected.
She arrived at the parking lot shade and saw the red sports car whose color could be seen from miles away and rushed over to it while she used her left hand to shade herself from the drizzling rain.
Getting under the shade, she removed her hand and gazed at the people who were standing together so closely and leaned into the car's body.
"Mo Zi Lin..." she called him nervously as she approached the duo eying them gingerly.
"Is it ready? Did you bring it over? " his voice was cold and alienating, it felt like he was talking to a total stranger whom he had just met.
"Zi Lin.." she softly called him while eying the fine lady who was standing beside him.
She was elegant and classy compared to her rusty looks.
"Zi Lin, who is she? Why is she calling you so intimately?" that soft and coy voice was calming and soothing compared to her rough voice and brute tendencies.
