Vanessa returned to the office in a sour mood. She had expected trouble from the Grants when it came to transferring of shares. And of course they had not disappointed her in that regard. And still she had been able to get at least some shares!
What she had not expected was for her maternal grandparents—her Nonna and Nonni, the ones who had always supported her to suddenly start attaching conditions before handing over their shares.
Her heels clicked sharply against the marble flooring of the lobby as she entered the building, and it took considerable effort to keep her expression calm despite the irritation simmering beneath her skin.
