Tristan walked into the office building and pushed down his mask slightly as he approached the reception desk. Even dressed casually and trying to keep a low profile, his presence still drew attention from a few employees passing through the lobby. He stopped in front of the receptionist and offered a polite smile.
"I am here to meet CEO Vanessa Grant."
The receptionist continued typing for another few seconds before finally answering flatly, "Do you have an appointment?"
Tristan rested one elbow against the counter casually. "No."
"Then I am sorry, sir, but CEO Vanessa Grant is not seeing anyone without an appointment."
Tristan smiled patiently. "You can just tell her that..."
That finally made the receptionist pause slightly. She sighed and cut him off before continuing, "Don't pretend that she knows you," she added while finally looking up from her computer. "I hear that every single day."
